ravynwolvf
Or is my game just freaking out? I thought that before, 2 minutes equaled 1 hour in the game world. Right now in my game, 2 minutes equals only 10 minutes passing on my game clock. I'm in Saint Denis, and the day is lasting forever! If it was patched, it's way too long now. Gonna see if anyone else has an issue before trying a reboot. Edited November 28, 2018 by ravynwolvf
Penicuikscotland2010
Not too sure. I actually feel the nights are a little bit longer. The evenings still suck though. Maybe this is all just placebo. This does seem to be a common complaint. R* are bound to deal with this at somepoint. I hope. ravynwolvf
I restarted my game, and now it's 1 minute irl equals about 15 minutes in game world...if what I found on the net about how it was at release was correct, that would make a day about twice as long now as it was pre-patch. Might be about right. Not sure why my game was going so slow, though... Edited November 28, 2018 by ravynwolvf Penicuikscotland2010
delsutton
I've had weird day/night time happenings occasionally. Sometimes night descends really quickly, like in a couple of seconds. Strangest was yesterday whenever it hit 9.34pm time stood still. The clock didn't advance, the light levels remained the same; even the moon didn't move in the sky. Quitting the game didn't solve it - I had to hard shut down the ps4 and restart Penicuikscotland2010 and Merle Travis

Just measured 1 Valentine hour it was 2 minutes 40 seconds. Maybe they stretched the nights somewhat but the important stuff like evenings and sunsets are still basically nonexistent in terms of timeframe. Oh and the patch made weather changes MORE sudden: Scenario 1: I was just outside Valentine at around 5 oclock or so, blue sky, no clouds and sun beating down on me. All of a sudden clouds pop in all over the sky and the sun teleports from up in the middle of the sky to a sunset behind the mountains. Literally 1 minute later its night with stars and moon. Scenario 2: It was cloudy and I decided to look at the watch. I look for 2 seconds, put it back in, all of a sudden its a blue sky day with sun. Time and weather is actually worse after the patch. I am seriously starting to wonder now, just how Rockstar are able to f*ck up the weather and day and night cycle to this extent? RDR 1 even had it right, what I wouldnt give for those sunsets in this game! Maybe go outside of the Rockstar office and look at some clouds, some sunsets and some weather changes? Skyrim works better than this ffs. If this was on PC a community mod would have solved it within a day. Weather doesnt change at the flip of a switch and sunsets dont pass in 10 seconds. This isn't rocket science. I mean clearly, they are trying to make this game work realistic in other aspects. Its a game where you can literally customize your mustache. Other games get weather and time right all the time, even modders do it with ease. At this point its baffling how they cant get it right. Ziggy_Ivanhoe
It was wondering the same because It did feel like the day lasts longer. WIsh I actually did some timing but was to busy hunting Moose. Maybe it's glitching out for some people and reverting back to the old cycle or just crapping out as mentioned by some. Penicuikscotland2010
Hopefully update 1.04 fixes this issue. Hopefully it's not another month of waiting again though. Merle Travis
ravynwolvf
I wonder if they didn't take some steps to address time and weather that had unpredictable results? I can only speak for my game, but like I said, the clock is definitely different (at certain times, at least...can't measure it always) for whatever reason. Have to try and clock it again today after it took the night off. Just tested it again after going in, and it came out as 2 minutes irl=40 minutes game time. Still a little bit slower than the net said it was to start with, but who knows? Cutter De Blanc
Time seems to be dynamic, depending on what you're doing. I've read other people saying this, and noticed fishing seems to make time pass slower I assume the person who sat there and timed an in game day was just sitting there, which made time pass at 49 minutes a day, but depending on what's going on and probably where you are, your results will differ The only conclusion I can come to, is that time does not pass at a constant and consistent rate Edited November 29, 2018 by Cutter De Blanc

Although pretty sure my game was just flat out glitching when it was going 2 minutes=10 minutes, especially since it sped up after I exited and went back in doing the same thing. Sandereas
Just a thought but, maybe the time goes faster when traveling and being in one place the whole time would make it go slower?
rooob
I know it doesn't slow down when in the general store in Rhodes. 10 minutes real time sorting an outfit out shouldn't eat hours and hours of game time, it should be 10 minutes, if it is dynamic. Fishing at the camp pier at sunset, although I haven't timed it, does seem to last longer than being out riding/hunting so maybe it is in some way. The only system crash Ive had was after the patch, after being tracked and moaned at for being away from camp for so long, I chose to ride back and it hung, pretty sure I was only away 2 nights. Rebooted and I was back at camp, only to get moaned at again for spending too much time at camp and not getting out there, ridiculous! I left with all supplies on yellow, crazy amount of meat donations from hunting and quite frankly, 99% of all booty and cash donations to date, with everyone having Des res tents too! I've also experienced complete sky changes, used the binoculars to check raiders on a bridge with a clear blue sky, fade out of the binoculars 2 or 3 seconds later and the sky is full of dark grey clouds. After the notes finally came out if felt to me like the priority was campaign based issues and fixing cheeky glitches. I'd like to have confidence (given they have delivered a total gem!) that the next patch will be environment based, weather, time, appearance, customisation etc. Loads of niggles but I just can't stop playing it! That would make sense but yeah, no. Same story as everyone else-go in a shop at 9AM and it is dark after looking at some clothes or buying ammo. Go fishing in the morning and by the time I reel in first catch it is dark or the next morning. You can see the light go from Day to Night very obvious if using Binocs or a Scope. Yeah, bout ready to start shooting some camp members. I was way over near Strawberry and Charles rides up "Dutch was worried about you.." I was headed to camp so took the short travel option of choosing 'Yes'. We got in after dark, dumped my load of goodies for the camp and went to bed, early AM I go for coffee and the Irish squeeze of Dutch's comes by and nags me about hanging around camp too much. I briefly wondered if the camp NPCs burned like the NPCs in the rest of the world and would anyone notice the stink? Sandereas
silly_nate
Someone pointed something out on another thread and it makes sense to me. Time goes by... so slowly... when you’re on foot. When on horseback it goes by faster. Penicuikscotland2010
