Brianwilsonisgod
Abandoned Online couple of months ago since I couldn't handle it's lack of animals and poor looks. Tried the new update and gosh looks gorgeous and way more alive! Totally hooked. I didn't get any random encounters with my old character though. Deleted and made new and instantly got multiple random encounters. Sam Doe
Supern
Really like the new update. It was sorely needed! Last night I got random messages from two completely different people, added them as friends, and ended up doing missions and hideouts with them and having some great fun. Also got targeted for assassination, we survived and ended up playing poker and chatting. One of the best nights on Red Dead for a long time. I also got a "level up" map that bugged out and gave me nothing. It's happened to me once before and last time I got the map back when I logged out/in again. But this time the map was simply gone without any treasure for me. So I sent a message to Rockstar and a very nice guy answered me almost immediately and gave me gold and cash for my troubles. Really impressive and fast support. RaigeGames and Assblaster

I still can't believe I've been 'moseying' around for three nights and have only been attacked once. So many people are just wandering past minding their business. This is great, I only hope it lasts. R* wanted to give us the 'feel' of the old west and it looks like they may have pulled it off. We know there are some bad folk to happen across out there so there's always that risk but for the most part we never see each other. [Edit] I too got Gold & cash... $200 and 2 Gold bars. RyuNova
Found a Perfect White Tail Deer last night and sold it for seven dollars. Fair price I would say, hell a poor Wolf carcass sells for four dollars. Did two missions last night and got around fifteen dollars each for both, I feel thats fair. Lonely-Martin
Yeah, you won't catch me knocking the detail in this game, it really is impressive. (But with my sh*t eyesight, GTA is still too, lol). A beautiful game indeed. That said, poker saved it. The few new missions too, I'll do them with glee, but only 5 more would have seen me move on after this weekend as for me it's lobby choice or bust to play properly. I'll pop back for poker though, without doubt. The odd mission or hunt if needed but with an $800 buffer, I feel I'll be alright. That's all I got that's praiseworthy for now, see you next update... Hopefully.

It's not even like I'm thinking "ah man, this looks like crap" when I play GTAO either, in fact I often consciously think it still looks quite good, but RDO is just a cut above. RyuNova
@MadHammerThorsteen I will give that a look. Okay, day off work so I have jumped into RDO and I am very impressed. Exactly what I do in Single Player (Hunt and Fish by myself) I can do in Online. But my biggest Praise is for the Blips and Defensive Mode additions. I spent three full in real life hours up in the Mountains and not a single soul bothered me. I didnt even see a single blip on the Radar. Being able to do everything like shooting a gun etc without being auto aimed and attacked by dickheads if great. This is what needs to be added to GTAO. No player blips and Passive Mode against other players only. Not against the world. Smokewood

Another player in passive can take your skins and carcasses, and if you attack them first, the game treats you as the aggressor while they can stay in defensive mode. It's an evil exploit, but I've seen it happen. Thats fair enough, I dont want full immunity from other players. Just the fact that I cant be lock-on to or Lassoed by someone riding full speed in the opposite direction is fine. Smokewood

RDO doesn't have true HDR support, so you want to turn it off when playing RDO because it negativelt affects the visuals. And you want to make sure your color range is set to 8-bit... AND turn off any dynamic contrast. Basically, everything that a 4k TV does to enhance visuals, you don't want for RDR2. I found this out piece by piece over a period of several days while fidgeting with the image to make it better. You might not believe it, but when I upgraded from my 32" 1080p to a 55" 4K HDR, RDO actually looked worse with the way I had my settings. I disagree completely. When we got our 4k tv and played RDO for the first time on ps pro, we were blown away. It took awhile to get all the settings in the tv and ps pro set just right, but when we did the difference was amazing. On our old 1080 tv the game was visually pretty bad, pixellated especially with fast movement. With 4k it became smooth and fresh-looking, like a different game almost. Looks even better with the last update. I forgot to add that we play with HDR on and it looks good. I suppose tastes vary but I'm amazed by the difference, I wish I'd gone with the pro sooner. All my games look better by far. Edited May 17, 2019 by Assblaster
Assblaster
Sorry to hear that, @MadHammer, I guess we're lucky but it did take some doing to get it all working right and the way we wanted it. imburgundy
After the update I have alot of high praise but what I am most surprised about is how much easier it is to accumulate gold now. Not only did they buff gold payouts for many activities but the multiplier for daily challenge streak is going to be epic. If I understand it correctly, as long as the streak is active you will get the multiplier for each daily challenge completed. So once you get the 28 day streak, all of your daily challenges will pay .50 Gold (2.5x multiplier) until the streak is broken. Most of all you only need 1 daily challenge to continue the streak which I think is way too easy. Rockstar deserves some credit for being more generous with gold payouts if this is true

It really is surprising to see Rockstar so generously giving away their one money maker in the game

Rockstar deserves some credit for being more generous with gold payouts if this is true I just broke a streak yesterday. Not being held real life hostage in exchange for digital currency, but I’ll admit it did hurt a bit at first. But yeah, if you get the multiplier that’s great value. You’re right though that it just requires 1 completed challenge to register, but sometimes that even is too much. However, I fear R* might be generous with gold now and then set higher Gold prices on future content, just like they’ve done on GTAO. Assblaster
Instead of negatives I'll spotlight some positives for a change. Bird and animal carcasses no longer despawning for me, even the ones out of range of the minimap!! Good job R* keep it that way. Animal population is nice! Hunting is fun for a change. Law system mostly working. In the middle of a town firefight I can walk through unhurt -- eyes alert but unhurt. Players are mostly killing NPCs now, and when I do get attacked I stand a fighting chance. I was about to praise R* for no blue screens but I just got one in the middle of my river fishing contest. Had a really damn good spot too dammit. Oh well, I'm having fun with this game for the most part so yahoo! Assblaster
Restoring ambient occlusion makes this game breathtakingly beautiful. The shading in this game gives off an almost 3d-looking picture. In 4k resolution the Red Dead world comes alive, is incredibly immersive, and highly addictive. With all its momentary problems I still love it. Happy Hunter
I bumped into at least 5+ grizzly bears at a time the other day - the animal spawns are definitely back to what they should be as far as I can tell.
Leftover Pizza
I love that I can just play this game the way I want to. Not having an urge to maximise profits, obtain every bit of top tier stuff, but just play my own way. Do a bit of hunting, helping a stranger from time to time and enjoying the simple things. I have no need for the best weapons, highest level or best card layout, because I don't plan to be a gunslinger at all. Hunt, fish, gather and live a simple life. Despite of missing a decent property to spawn in, I can do all this without a worry. That's my positive feedback for today. IceHeartache
If you are in a session with few players (like 15 or less) and go to Saint Denis, the city would be full of life like in SP, i know is not a big deal, but this place is one of my favorites in SP and before the update the city was like a ghost town, with this update now it really feels so alive, is a shame that it only works in low populated lobbies Happy Hunter and Foxwolfe
Foxwolfe
I found a train traveling counter clockwise coming around Emerald Station today! I'm assuming this means the train can spawn in both directions now but even then I won't believe it until I see it happen a few more times. Obviously nothing really to get excited about, just still surprises me I guess lol. Love them adding little details like this, look forward to more. Add the most expensive stirrups and the Nocato's stamina (which is less to start with) lasts longer than my Trotters and Arabian with ther super special rattlesnake and Puma saddles BUT this new saddle cost me nearly $800 If my memory is correct it was around $300 for saddle then colour change was a few more dollars apr $250 then somewhere around another $300 for the stirrup upgrade but IMO worth it as dollar is easy enough to earn Nocato with Nocogdoches saddle is now my go to for hard and fast running AND it also up the specs on all horses by 1 bar taking the Nocato from 9 speed and 7 acc to 10 speed and 8 acc example Trotter is now 10 and 8 Arabian 9 and 9 ALifeOfMisery
