I like that the starting guns are a Carbine Repeater and Cattleman revolver. They're my go-to guns so they're always good to use. 😜

Variety in player characters. I played a few missions with 4 players in each, and I didn't see a single one close to mine and vice versa. Seems to be few native characters which is both concerning but also good. 😜

I've not dabbled in a lot and I know some of the game needs work, but it's still fun for a beta. I will leap for joy if I can make a invite only sesh 😍

Can't wait to get my hands on the bolt action, and yeah so far I've not seen one character resemble mine...i mean, he is an odd fella i must say lmao!

It made me appreciate how alive and interesting the map is in story mode that much more.

Here's another one;

I got my first "Lost connection to R* services".... and it just put me in the Online menu, no kicking me back to SP and I got back into freeroam fairly quickly! I was truly amazed! Looks like they learned how annoying GTA Online was when you get errors

I forget the SP price, but that's irrelevant. The online price is $1000. With inflation that would be roughly $30,000 in 2018. For a pistol. A job pays you $1 so you would need to complete 1000 life risking jobs to afford said pistol... You see no problem here?

Either we should be making more for jobs or items should cost less. I feel like an outlaw in the great depression.

Which job was this, that pays 1$? The very first one? Not trying to be funny or anything, just I've done other things that pay better than that. Lasso'd a perfect condition deer and stabbed it, sold it to a butcher for 6$. Did some deathmatches, got more than a dollar per match for those. All in all I'm at 90$ from my first time playing.

My point being, surely the latter missions pay better? If not, then something definitely needs doing to them.

Edit: I just talked to someone who got 124.50$ for a latter mission.

I hear ya, but why would you want that gun? I hear people talk about it a lot but I don't see what's so special about it.

Give me the double-action revolver anytime over that thing.

That thing isn't what it was in Redemption 1. In 1 it used to be a big deal in that game. Here, not so much. I'd probably take the double-action revolver over it as well actually, ammo is more available.

I just finished my first day online and I had nothing but great experiences. Not one random person tried to kill me. All the people I ran into were extremely friendly and helpful. I don’t expect that to be the case every day of course but it was a great start.

Man this forum gives me anxiety :D

So, finally had some time to go online last night.(CET)  Was with my buddy for a couple hours.

We had so much fun, unbelievable!

We did not meet any griefers, even more every dot on the map looked like it tried to avoid us. We cleared 2 hide outs without interruption from others.

After that we played 2 story missions, awesome playing this game together with my buddy!

We ended up with 70 (me) and 68 dollars. Got 29 dollar! from one of the missions. (kept reading it would be like 3 of 4 dollars)

Some posts on this forum really made me doubt RDO, but damn this was great :D

Apparently horse racing is supposed to be not too bad money-wise. I'll have to give it a go myself next time.

Kind of looks like Road Rash, but slower and with cowboys and guns included.

I'm in the opposite thread of this one lol, but I will say some good things. (which I might regret saying because I don't want Rockstar to take them out.) I enjoy being able to go into homesteads and stock up on food and tonics when I can't afford to buy them or am saving up for something else. That has been a great highlight that I enjoy. I like I can fence the loot I find as well and am not on a timer like in GTAO with selling the cheapest of cars to Los Santos Customs. I like that I have the option to spare people if I want to, if I don't want to go the dishonorable route (which I can also do a complete 180 on) I like some of the events that have been created for us to do. They have the potential to be really fun.

also no EWO either.

but still gutted about not having passive mode at all.   (improved)

There is EWO, in the interaction menu under Online Options you can “respawn” which kills you instantly.

Starting out, I liked the character creator, it seemed like it had more options than gta o for the face and having different body types was a nice surprise.

I got disconnected a few times while joining freeroam, but never during anything. The "servers" seemed to help that issue gta had with matchmaking because it seemed to put 4 players together in 10 seconds or so, and joining a pretty full session takes seconds.

Also I haven't experienced any lag, even with a bunch of players close together in a freeroam event.

Hopefully it only gets better, If they add separate friendly and hardcore lobbies it would be great. Even though I'd settle for a invite only.

Too bad I can't do the "Time your tap with gallop" to save stamina crap.... literally impossible

Also, is anyone else's horse repeatedly getting level one bonding? I'm technically on level 2 but when I got on I was greeted to that and I can't get any further progress on my horse

The fact that most if not all interiors from Single player missions are enterable in online. Even ones that had become locked or destroyed are enterable. Such as Marko's lab or the Mayors mansion. Even Braithwaight manor is enterable in online. Sadie's old house. The list goes on. They clearly learned from GTAO. This is amazing. Also upon taking a boat out to the high stakes casino boat it respawns you back in the confines of the map. But I guarentee that if the boat wasn't outside the map limits it would also be enterable.

RedDeadNedKelly

I was moseying around in the mountains today when I noticed a gang camp not far off. So I decided I’d have a piece of that action, a few minutes later I’m walking around looting all the bodies. I’m nearly done when I hear this godawful roar and see a red blip on the mini map behind me. I turn around and a big bastard bear is charging down the hill towards me. Not wanting to do my best impression of Hugh Glass I take the heroic option and leg it. I get to my horse and take off down a road and bbb is still chasing me. I think “no worries” and spur my horse to go faster. Big bastard bear starts gaining on me so I start belting through the bush managing not to coathanger myself on low hanging branches. Long story short, I got away but needed a real life beer to settle my old nerves. I’m really starting to like this game. 😂

Imagine two players standing by watching it all from a distance.

"lmao, hey Joe, come here, look at this dood. Here, take my binoculars"

"ayy that's Ned Kelly runnin' from a bigass ball of fur, lul."

"lmao yeah should we help him?"

"nah he was lootin' dem bodies over there, he just gettin' chased by dat karma, lmao"

I think they increased the payout since day one or I'm earning more because I'm a higher level now maybe? It was the train station missions where you deliver the coach. It pays more now though.

SALO or The 120 Days Of Sodom

I like that everything you do is acknowledged in challenges and awarded when you reach a milestone.. like picking herbs, selling pelts, spending money, etc..

it just shows that playing the game isn't just about earning money. you earn xp.. as well as experience to unlock other stuff.

I also like that I cant afford to buy every clothing item within 2 days of playing the game. you can make an outfit go a really long way. being able to afford every outfit gives me anxiety anyway.. just like in single player.. I kept switching and tweaking my outfit, for no reason.. in online, I made 3 outfits I really like and sticking with that so far.

Yes, but there should be a better balance there. Buying everything quickly isn't reasonable. But neither is the average player needing to grind for weeks just to have a cold weather outfit.

you end up with about 500dollars after "completing" the online-storymode. its only for the first time.   the first few hours of rdo are nice, yes.

Only a few hours in and so far the map blips have actually been useful in allowing me to be where other folk aren't.

Also I have been witness to some pretty spectacular weather online, not long after I completed Breakout I was treated to some pretty epic lightning

I've been getting two kind of free roam sessions today. Type A, full of people with no working missions. Type B, my personal favorite.

Type B sessions of today empty out when I start a stranger mission and stay empty.

Deathmatches are very entertaining. PVP is great with the tackle mechanic and hip firing. I spend a lot of time just playing shootouts. Your skills transfer from GTAO, so I'm winning a lot.

Online story mode has singleplayer tier of quality missions.
