This game is amazing and will most likely ruin my marriage. I’ve felt this way about all GTA and RDR games, each better than the last(though GTA IV was a step back from San Andreas content wise but looked much better). I’m excited to see what the game looks like one year or two years from now after seeing all the content that was added in GTAO, and if they follow the model, it will all be FREE!!  Also, excited for GTA 6 after seeing how amazing RDR 2 looks since it was originally developed on the Xbox One/PS4 and not the 360, and I believe GTA 6 will be on the next console. Hoping for some kind of RDR Undead Nightmare again as creepy as this game looks at night sometimes. Rockstar has my vote once again for best f*ck*ng games on the planet!

Ok, I gotta hand it to 'em, this is a bit of me now!

I've much to learn and can't do much and get thoroughly stuck in right now through IRL pap, but I've had a few little spells and I'm clucking to get back on. Pretty much the best compliment I got, lol. I just wanna play.

Honestly, I feared this game would push me away with this, and the lobby choices are something I still want, but it is also far quieter and more peaceful now that defensive mode has had time to grow on me. I've tweaked my character so he looks much more normal and less a f*cking gimp I disliked and for sure, that'll help, lol.

Plenty I'll enjoy doing here, and glad the battle pass thing isn't as harsh as it could have been too. I think this'll do me alright, sure feels nice to offer more to this thread anyway. :)

Really digging this update. It has few hiccups; with that being said, a pretty solid effort and very entertaining.

I can’t wait till the casual lose interest...

Played several hours yesterday, pretty much exclusively did the collector role and after a while I stopped at a post office out of habit and to my shock I was completely full on all rounds of ammunition! It was at a minimum an hour but probably longer that I didn't shoot a single bullet. I was blown away by that. I genuinely can't wait to continue and look forward to the bounty hunter role as well. Just really glad that I was fully stocked with gold bars and RDO$ because if you weren't you probably hated this update from the exorbitant prices.

- Turns out dogs are just new camp upgrades, independent from the Role stuff (and the Trader upgrade is just to have them guard your camp - it doesn't stop you getting one to begin with). That's cool - I just wanted one as a pet, and I'm glad I don't have to ruin my camp with Cripps' stuff (and get locked into the RDO equivalent of GTAO's delivery grind) in order to do so.

(still have to wait a month for the Foxhound to come to XB1, but eh, that's just time to put aside some more money, and think of a suitable name... ;))

- Speaking of Cripps, because he'll move to a different part of camp if you accept the Trader stuff, Wilderness Outfitters is a separate prompt at camp, near the wash bucket - it's a slight improvement, but it's easier to just hold down Y (or whatever the PS4 equivalent) to open that up, rather than the 'target character, hold down button, hold down other button' routine.

- Collector stuff is easy, fun, and knocks out XP at a surprisingly steady rate - just get a bunch of maps from Madam Nazar, go to the spot, see what the thing is (if it's a card, it'll be on a structure - if it's a plant, try near other plants, etc.), find the glowing yellow thing, profit. Don't even need to turn on controller vibration (unlike treasure maps), which is a big plus.

That, and the whole thing feels less 'Western', more 'Victorian' - maybe it's the violin music, and the fact I turned up in a suit to get started, but I'm honestly getting Sherlock Holmes vibes from it all, which is right up my alley. :monocle:

I played all day Tuesday and Wednesday and when I logged off last night I came to the realization that in the entire time that I played since the update dropped, NOT ONCE was I killed by another player. Ran into plenty of them but everyone minded their own business. I even had a player that showed up in Armadillo as I was killing enemies for my trader delivery and instead of killing me he just stood on the saloon balcony and watched and waved when I was done. Never really had a huge problem with players killing me before but even still it's refreshing to see players minding their own business and going about their own thing. IMO the defensive and offensive playstyle options have completely changed the game

Hours playing last night and today so far no disconnect. And loving all of it. I think R* hit it outta the park with this one. Trader missions aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. I've yet to be attacked on a trade run, other players are being cool lately. All three roles are pretty fun. And just to think, there are more big updates coming, and more roles. Maybe other businesses down the line (like moonshining maybe), properties, farms?  Who knows; but I'm really enjoying this.

Im really enjoying this new update, i love the fact that theres actual stuff to do now instead of just yee-haw'ing aimlessly all over the place.

Enjoyed a couple hours of bounty hunting yesterday. The bios of the various targets are great, even if they repeat the faces.

Also, my new thing when I get a little bored is riding on a train for its entire circuit and checking out the scenery as well as little spots I never see because I don't really make it a point to randomly ride where the tracks are. When it gets to be night, hitting the tracking is super fun because all the animals glow and you get to see them dash away and stuff.

Also, it's hilarious to point a gun at NPCs who happen to be near the tracks and watch them lose their sh*t without suffering any consequences. Yesterday I angered a guy on a horse and he called me names, turned and ran with the train but never did anything and eventually veered down a trail. I'm pretty sure you can just shoot people and nothing will happen to you, too. The law circles a bit but the train doesn't stop. You will eventually get a hostile tag, lose your defensive mode and probably get called out for antagonizing but whatevs.

Riding in fog is fun, too. The conductor pulls the horn like you'd expect to clear the tracks, which is cool. But there are some real views to be seen if you stand on the coal car behind the engine car and take it all in.

My plan going into the DLC was that the first day try all 3 roles out but that never happened since I immediately got immersed in the collector role. I was going to finally get to my bounty hunter license yesterday until I got the metal detector and it blew my mind. I feel like it's possible to find a treasure everywhere now and there's a whole new purpose of exploring the map all over again. I'm just gonna let this feeling ride until I am satiated before I move on to bounty hunter and get more in depth with trader. I'm just really happy that they really blew away my expectations even though my expectations got to really low levels during the info drought. My faith is restored!

One of the Bounty Hunter free roam events is named "Manhunt". I like that reference.

To be totally honest, it wasn't meant to be sarcastic. But after playing the past few days I have to pour a load of sarcasm all over it and leave the bottle there....

I love the focus on PvE that this update brought, i can sink so many hours in this game now.

Also, the other day Cripps set up my camp in the big field next to Hanging Dog Ranch (you know, the most beatiful place in the map) and spent a good couple of hours hunting in peace.

Singlehandedly one of my most relaxing experiences in this game.

Had a similar experience last night but I was at the Heartland Overflow by Emerald Ranch, right on the water. By far my favorite camp spot so far! Plenty of animals all around and I didn't need my horse at all. I've got to try and get one at Hanging Dog, which I agree is the best looking area in the game.

I like to buy a drink as soon as I enter a saloon because you can walk fast while holding them. The slow saunter/run/sprint options sometimes don't address my ambulatory needs. Of course, it's hard not to take a sip and you have to when you want to interact with anything so it helps to carefully count how many you have left. If you don't, you might accidentally press the R2 button while in first person view and blow the head off a guy standing just behind you.

I'm still laughing.

Big Valley is utterly gorgeous. Its one of the places you wanna strip off and run through naked.

Its also the best place to hunt in the game, its just one massive and open shooting range with multiple types of animals you can just continuously feed to Cripps.

I messed around in online a little when it was first released, decided it wasn't for me. Just seemed like a run and gun free for all with little to no purpose.

This update though and the changes that have obviously happened since I last played... really nice. I've been playing for a few days now. Being a trader, enjoying hunting, mixing it up with some stranger missions, random encounters, a little fishing, plus the story stuff from launch. Loving it. Love the pace of the game. Just making a cup of tea and having a little smoke and then I'll be back on it. Can't get enough.

Just been awarded 456 dollars whilst hunting for no apparent reason. Thought I'd post it here even though I've got nothing but b&m for this game atm.

Nice of R*, hopefully once the casuals leave back to GTAO server stability will be better.

Having most fun I've had playing online since the beginning.

If the game had been release at day one as it is today, I wouldn't have complained.

Rockstar has reloaded the crack pipe with this new update. I'm hooked.

Defo lol. It's the price for the carcano I've realised and I never received that, but it's not like them to give compensation when they f*ck up. I'm still so pissed at that 5gb compo for my streak being reset. Decent update though if they sort the bugs out and drain that support team.

When that happened to me (432 dollars) it was reimbursement for all the horse main/tail colors I'd bought up till then, they changed it so horse main/tail acts like haircuts and you only "own" the one you're currently using.

Thought it was odd, the game didn't inform me until my next login that it was reimbursement for that.

Yeah I got 71 for horse appearance refund. Still no notification for this one but it must be for carcano
