Your thoughts on having all players marked on the mini-map, at all times?

What gave people the idea that this was even going to be a thing? Every R* game has showed everyone on the map, nobody should be surprised.. like it was kinda obvious

Someone never played the original Red Dead multiplayer. There was a hardcore mode. It was free aim only and no player blips unless you were shooting or in line of sight. Players with bounties were highlighted, but it was an area not their exact location. It made free roam much more enjoyable.

Here we are 8 years later and it seems R* has taken a step backwards from what they had before. Of course GTAO shows that the lowest common denominator is what brings in the money, and they all want blips on always and grief as you please.

I stand by my statement, without PvE lobbies with full content, I'm done.

I already own GTAO and don't need another version of it.

Story mode is fine for me....

Radar is so lame in a Western. Same with auto aim.

I feel like a terminator with a cowboy hat. I never miss and I always know where John Connor is.

As long as their is no kd and money is hard to come by, griefing will be at a minimum.  The complaints are overblown as usual.  Besides the removal of passmode, kill count screens, and so and so left, will cut down on griefing.   The ability to teleport all over the map by going to the online tab.  Makes this a nonissue.  I prefer to fight anyway.  It make all the scavaging worth it.

Also, its a Beta, so all  lobby options are probably not being utilized.

No, A bow (with the correct arrows) will get a clean pelt on any animal (that I have killed so far in story mode). It's also quiet and doesn't scare away other animals in the area.

It's also great in PvP.

Wow, didn't even know that. Thanks, man! I remember seeing an animal where it's info said needs to be shot with an arrow. Thought it was just that species, not every animal. Yeah, PvP bow FTW!

Make sure you get the improved arows. I shot the legendary fox right between the eyes with a basic arrow and he laughed at me and ran off!

I don't mind auto-aim.

I see it as my character is aiming, not me.

Having said that, it's lame in competitive PvP.

Hence, we need seperate lobby types.

I don't see why, on hardcore lobbies at least, spotting players can't be linked to the tracking mechanic for hunting?? Instead of always being on the map, an area of fog is placed at your last known location, intermittently not constantly because that'd be just as annoying as what we have now. Your location can be tied to you firing a shot off or if you are moving at a decent pace out of stealth. If someone really wants to know where you are without you telling them they can track you down from your last known location until they physically see you, if they shoot and you engage as well both blips become red for both players for as long as combat ensues. If you decide to leave the area or stop fighting back then your blip should be removed until you do something else to jeopardize your location or start the fight back up.

If you played death matches in GTAO then you're familiar with the way the radar works. Something similar to that but implemented for a much larger map of course.

Tbh though even all that sounds too complicated for R* and most players. I would be satisfied if all players were completely off the map at all times, unless in your posse, or if you only became visible after shooting.

I think I a system were players aren't highlighted on the map until spotted which makes them visible for a limited time. I think this will add more realism and force a bit more team work amongst posses. It will also make killing another player more satisfying and murders will more like assassinations rather than mindless violence. It would also make entering towns more intense and threatening as you know you will be visible.
I also think towns should have a police presence with a scaling from lawless or as close as (Austin) to heavily policed (Saint Denis)
I think all shops should be a place you can rob like the convince stores in GTA, even if its not for a lot of money just the ability to do it would be great. I also think banks and trains should be able to get robbed with more money and at a greater difficulty than shops bank medium difficulty then trains hardest. Other players should not be alerted (unless they're a sherif or deputy which could become available in DLC) but can steal all of they loot if they intercept at any point.
I also hope we can do gambling, even if it's entering competitions for no monetary prize people would still spend coin.

TL,DR; I don't dig it, what are your thoughts?

Why I don't dig it...
I have a feeling a tons of people will be for this, and while I respect your opinion, it's pretty much a dealbreaker for me.

I want the immersion of the main game. I don't want another GTAO BR/DM open world. I still want others in the map, but I want to come across them naturally. If I feel like being social, I will ride into the saloon on Saturday night, to see what's shaking.

So as of now, like GTAO, there are tons of griefers, going blip hunting, and it could all be alleviated by letting us have some hardcore servers without players being marked, and without autoaim. And not like in GTAO, you couldn't play in free aim servers really. They lumped in the free aim-assisted people so there's no place to go where everyone has to actually aim.

Was the one thing I hoped for in RDO.

Not sure you want to ride into a saloon since some people ride in there just to shotgun you in the back while you're having a drink lol

But in my experience so far there hasn't been much griefing. But that's just me. I'm sure it goes on quite a bit.

Players aren't constantly & consistently marked on the mini map.

I'm not sure how it works or what triggers what, but even in the free roam, if you engage in a battle with someone else & you guys keep killing each other, your marker isn't visible 100% of the time...and in the game modes, there were plenty where the blip only showed up when they were firing or very close by.

Is the blip on the map making it too easy for you? You're just finding stuff to complain about...especially when they're not consistently visible like the complainant states.

Exactly. I've already bought 4 copies, across 3 platforms and put thousands of hours over 5 years into one nightmarish R* PvP sh*tshow.

RDO has zero longevity for me without lobby/radar options.

Send your feedback. A freeaim, no blips lobby is what we need badly.

Already done my friend. Multiple times. Actually, I'm getting kind of paranoid that my feedback will get filtered as spam due to its frequency.

😂 You too? Well we just need everyone to spread the word. I’ve had some games with friends only using free aim and it’s like playing a completely different game. It just plays amazing with freeaim. I think they will make the lobbies eventually, but it needs to be in their very first beta patch. Thanks for your effort :)

It's just dumb, plain and simple. I can understand having certain settings for some game modes to allow certain things, this being one of them, but for it to be the default is lame.

I'd say that just adding solo/posse/friend only lobbies, with all content available, would be the best, let the players choose how they want to play the game, but judging R*'s history they want the game to be a cluster F*.

They probably should add a wide-array of lobby types, free-aim/aim support, always on radar/always hidden/hybrid where you show up when performing illegal activities (The fuzz like to talk, could use this same system for bounties), public/solo/posse/friend lobbies as previously mentioned, zombe lobby (I know I'm not the only one who wants a return of Undead Nightmare). Give players the freedom to really choose how they want to play the game, they could even make high risk/reward lobbies which have all of the chaos nonsense automatically on and you get more money the more activities you complete without leaving.

It would be great with different lobby types, but for now a HC with only freeaim and no blips is fine.

I would love to see a forced first person lobby as well, so hopefully they’ll give us options. :)

Thats sadly the point... R* wants griefers and trolls (and unbalanced gameplay) in their games, they are using them as free working force. This ensures that grinding is impossible and that directly translates to micro transaction sales.

This worked rly well for them in gtaonline. RDRO will be exactly the same...

Unfortunately this

I don’t have much of any hope in R* after how the life of GTAO has gone, my hope is a PC release eventually and modders start RP servers so we can actually have some fun with random people online.

The expanded radar from GTA needs to be a thing because people can run up on you with blips always on.  You can expand your radar but its still pretty small.

I actually like the blips on.  I want to be able to interact with others if I choose.  However, I think this is one of the only changes I would make.  One lobby with and another without blips.  Free aim nah, pve nah, no blips hell yeah.
