Jason
Yea the story missions will get you a couple of hundred dollars, after that though it's slim pickings. Â There's no good way to make money after the story but from what I've seen, fishing aint a bad way out of the current options. I've been fishing off the pier right next to the butcher in St Denis using the infinite baits, it's like a fish every 20-30 seconds or so including all the animation times, each fish selling for 75c to a dollar. As far as dollars per hour go it's probably up there with the best methods atm.

Bully2comingsoon
They did a great job with side activity. Hunting feels great. Can make a decent living off of it and also dosent feel too repetitive. The saloons are also on point. You can even take a beer for the road. Hope they keep adding more of the kinda casual roleplaying stuff. Really helps flesh everything out. OREOBOREALIS

Jabalous
So I've been playing Online for 5 hours now and I'm truly enjoying it. It's the single-player world moved to Online with the same spontaneous player-animals and player-gangs interactions. I've got a mission from a stranger in New Austin to assassinate an Online player. I accepted the mission, but he was far away in Tall Trees. On my way there, I got attacked and killed by a grizzly bear in the woods. These unexpected events and dangers that enhance single player are found here again, which is great. I encountered some few bugs like crashing through the ground multiple times and a sudden error that crashed the game during a co-op story mission, but overall the experience has been smooth, and with short loading times which was a frustrating aspect in GTAO.  Rafae, DrKrankenstein, Smokewood and 1 other

GTAFanClub
I have been really enjoying the small and large showdown series. In my opinion they are really fun and exciting. You get paid pretty well if you win and pretty good XPÂ as well.
Jason
Game is broke atm. DC's, severe crashes, falling through the map. That's enough for today I guess, tomorrow might be rough when the floodgates open. Lonely-Martin
Slonitram
Haven't been free roaming much, just doing the Showdown Series. The PVP modes are all really fun. I'll get started on story missions and whatnot tomorrow. Â Also, saving all the money I have and buying only what I truly need, like I've always done with GTAO. Seems like in this game, you really have to economize.

Mad stuff, looked like I was in quicksand just before falling through, and a couple of tits came sniffing and their horse wasn't under them. Got killed, dadhboarded it. Â This needs time/work asap. And options. (Free aim can piss off and PvE lobbies).

DSandvik
Do you guys think they'll actually listen to feedback this time, or do you think our feedback is sent straight to the rockstar trashcan as soon as we post it? This game would be one hell of an online game if they listened to the fans, and implemented our ideas, and feedback.

This game would be one hell of an online game if they listened to the fans, and implemented our ideas, and feedback. They've made a big deal about wanting feedback and the community isn't being quiet about issues, so if they don't listen to players then they'll kill any chance the game has of recreating a tenth of the success GTAO has had.  Hell, the games progression which isn't tied to microtransactions in any shape or form (exp, weapons, abilities) is out of whack too cause of the money payouts. It's all well and good moaning about prices for clothes and horses and going "well they want you to buy gold", the stuff you can't buy with gold is suffering heavily from the current payouts lol. Good progression is key to retaining players, not cosmetics, so if they don't fix that particular issue it's gonna flop.

Patting, calming and hitching to posts gives a little. +1 for a pat +5 for a hitch and +100 for riding for a long time. IamCourtney

"Doing donuts" on your horse (rotating left stick in a smooth, slowish circle) counts as riding time, useful lil tip for when you have a moment to kill waiting for friends to get to you or whatnot. ghostsoap01
I can't even bring myself to play it. Yesterday I had too much of a bad experience with griefing. Without the addition of solo lobbies (or at least friendly lobbies) I just can't bring myself to play. I stare at the beta menu screen, join a session and as soon as I see a map full of players I leave in order to not have to deal with griefing. Haven't even gotten past the first mission after your camp is set up.
éX-Driver
If this is all RDO has to offer [and let’s face it, it probably is. This isn’t a beta, it’s just early access], then it just isn’t going to last. There’s no incentive to progress, there’s no real incentive to really play. Deathmatches use your freeroam ammo, and your core damages carry over between missions/deathmatches and free roam so you constantly have to manage it. The only things you unlock are some cosmetic items, some horses [which don’t really seem to matter much when you’re just riding around, they’re all roughly equal in speed and health and bravery], and one of the less than 10 guns from story mode because the special rare guns aren’t available and none of the special melee are either. A lot of the things required for gameplay [cold weather clothing, binoculars, fishing rod] are locked behind level unlocks. A lot of desireable cosmetics like gun visual mods are locked behind their paywall currency. I’m bored already and I’ve only been playing since Wednesday. Most people I know also think it’s a letdown. Most lobbies I’ve been in are barely populated, and most people are just shooting each other because it’s the only properly entertaining thing to do.  Rockstar really cocked this one up. I doubt RDO will last longer than a few months unless they really change how it operates on a core level. GTAO made them greedy. They’ve flown too close to the sun, and it will be their downfall. UE helped as the Varmint rifle and pump shotgun were free. Eventually I'd like a Carcano rifle and once I can dual wield either a second double action revolver or a sawn off shotgun.  I'm buying nothing but ammo until that list is complete with all weapons upgraded. Also hunt, hunt, hunt as long as you want. You'll lose the pelts on the horse but you keep the other stuff in your inventory. Same for the flora.
