The game as is actually promotes bullying even though Rockstar's promotional material for the game says "fun and fair environment for everyone" and "Explore the world solo or with friends."

 

I'm starting another beta today and their code of conduct sounds 100% better than what Rockstar is offering us now. With Red Dead Online, I spend a lot of my time trying to work around the game and the griefers rather than just playing it.

If they implement it well, they can‘t track you down, except YOU are the griefer. 

I don‘t see the problem here.

Wrong. I paid for RDR2, not for RDO. You have paid alot with your Time by being a part of its dead online base which holds the population of the game.
I am very sad to see that someone managed to waste so much time on a game with no content and earn over 100GB and 10000$ by replaying the same couple of missions with kill-steal-deliver over and over and over again.

Or did you earned it from PVP? Gosh, in that game with auto drunk hand shaking imitation aim and always too cold too hungry to fed up character? OMG, just with a blink of the eye I remember that moment where I shot multiple players from the shotgun right in the head and they die - get up - and shoot back, along with some level 7 noob who became MVP while did everything but 2x less than me.

 

I'd say there is a difference between not taking something serious and just being arrogant to your own life time...

PVP in general, just like Showdown modes are a travesty of epic proportions. There's no words in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of Men to express how much i dislike it. I hate it but i'll keep playing it cause i need to believe it can get better, i wanna live in a world where this monumental Rockstar title get's his groove back. It baffles me why they decided to make it a GTA with horses instead of a western game. They made a western multiplayer 8 years ago which everyone loved so why not replicate the formula. 

It's like watching Walking Dead all over again: Rick leaves(Hold your own, Grab the bag Gang Shootout in RDR1 style) and Daryl became the face of the series(Make it Count, Gun Rush, everything in Tall Trees).

 

While suffering through RDR2, with melancholia i cherish the memory of the best PVP concept Rockstar implemented.

Can you imagine if R* actually released a patch? Lol. I think we're waiting for the first DLC before there's any attempt to fix anything now TBH. Unless a gold bar glitch comes along, that would obviously be fixed asap.

 

A road map would be awesome. It feels like R* think they have already done this by telling us about 4 or 5 features they want to add Soon™. I'd like something that gives a rough order of what's to come in 2019.

@Talisman_83 I'm looking forward to the proximity blips, probably because I've always favoured immersion over convenience, I guess I'm odd that way.

 

I definitely see where you're coming from though and I can only hope R* have foreseen the glaring potential problem vendor camping will pose once proximity blips are implemented.

 

Even though I favour immersion over convenience, R* shouldn't implement a system which would mean that 5 or 6 d*ckheads out of a 30 player lobby could prevent anyone selling anything to any butcher on the map. There has to be a middle ground.

 

I'll be honest, I don't know the answer to that problem, maybe we're visible once we're within a certain distance from a vendor, idk.

 

Hopefully the darkening blips visible at greater distances for trigger happy players will come alongside the proximity blips, although R*s wording makes me doubt this will happen.

It's each to their own I guess.

 

After 5 years of GTAO coupled with the ever increasing craziness of the content R* has added, especially since 2016, I was more than ready for a break and change of pace.

 

Yeah, RDO severally lacks content and R*, IMO, have misjudged the launch of RDO in spectacularly bad fashion, but the slower pace and new, beautiful game world have been a breath of fresh air for me.

I have no problem with PvP, love it when it's done right, but free roam is cluster f*ck for PvP, can someone tell me who do I shoot, with out maybe ruining somebody's day, or worse still loosing my honour. They could actually introduce the coloured blimp, that lets people see if you have negative or positive honour, and if you have negative honour let other players hunt you with out repercussion to their honour. I think the proximity blimp is going to be another sneaky tool for the griefer to be honest.

If they are fighting their blimps are shown on the map. What‘s so hard to understand? 

 

Ofcourse it‘s possible that a player who didn‘t show on the radar before decides to shoot you, but the probability that this will happen is by far less than if everyone sees you and can track you down, I guess/hope so. 

 

I think the thought behind this, is that griefing-happy players will just go after other griefers, cause NOBODY FCKN ELSE is shown on the map.

Can't argue with it being grindy, it definitely is.

 

I've not witnessed much griefing though, to be honest lower levels seem far more hostile than players who are putting a lot of hours into the game, and those are easily dealt with.

Really grindy. Your map is your only friend in free roam, look at it often it will help. If you see someone coming at you shoot first, sadly you will loose honour because of it.

this. I bet 95% of all users complaining about griefing are level <40. Can you remember how it is/was in GTA with that level? this is on a whole other level.

I wouldn't even say I'm mid level (58) but of all the players that are 100+ I've been close to in freeroam, not a single one has tried to f*ck with me, every single time since, say, Christmas, it's been a sub level 25 who gets trigger happy.

I'm at level 26 almost 27, I love grindy games and open world's but it's sad that this game can't even hold my attention. 

 

I don't know how you guys aren't burnt out from the lack of stimulation in online.

They need to fix online spawn or at least give the option to spawn at camp. 

 

I always choose the Ambarino to load in and make my way down hunting and stuff. Now I've been loading in Blackwater, Leymone, Roanoke Ridge....

Best way to check is for an actual post-1.05 update file on your console.

 

If that does not exist, then nothing new worth noting has taken place in this game...

 

...despite all the YT'rs and their endless yellow shameless lies clickbait arrows pointing to the non-existant "Update" word in the RDO menu. *sigh*

Don't get me wrong, I hope I'm not coming across all doom and gloom, f*ck it it's all sh*t sort of attitude.

I'm hopeful that it's implemented in a way that calms people's fears, but we'll just need to see.

And if there's a few players who are friends and aren't fighting, instead taking advantage of the lack of visibility you'll have, patiently waiting for someone to arrive?

What's so hard about that to understand? 

I'd like to hope that griefers will just go after other griefers, but that is demonstrably false.

Dude, there are plenty of occasions where my username 100% checks out lol. Sometimes R* leave us with nothing else to do but voice our displeasure.

 

I think your concerns are completely valid, I'm living in hope that R* can get it right, first time, because if not they will create the opposite of what they claim to be trying to achieve.

Waiting for an ability card that lets you set up your own protected camp anywhere you currently are and contains your personal butcher.

I'll pay every cent I have for that option 🙂
