Personally, if I see a smoke pillar I'll try to get to it. If it is, for example, a camp defence and someone else already has started it I'll just help shooting the enemies. Then I'm off. Hideouts I usually try to get what I've killed if we arrived at the same time. If I was there first and someone's trying to freeload...that's another story. 😈

Not really a bitch or moan, but even 7+ months after playing the story mode, the Bayou still freaks me out. 

I still expect them voodoo dudes jumping me any time of the day out there......

Creeps me out at night for some reason, if I'm going through...all that fog and swamp sounds or something I dunno.

I saw a dead one right after a swamp fishing challenge. At the scoreboard screen I heard gators, and when in spawned in freemode I heard a weird sound after a few seconds and suddenly there was a dead nightfolk on the ground. There were a few tracks of gator going across the road, which is also odd. I went to try and find some gators to kill but I could only find a few.

I dunno, but the guy was in defensive mode shooting birds around copperhead landing and the train tracks. I was near him briefly for a daily. The campsite defend was not far from there, in Bluewater Marsh.

Lol maybe im level 31 the guy who took the two loots was around 95 so he could have easily pawned me he sped off real fast maybe, I looked tough hiding behind that tree in the swamp lol I always look for the closest cover and dive for it.

Well what I had to do was go to the Mode Post Sign in free mode and it started......I was in a posse(Showdown Large). We did good one round and got waxed before parting ways. Now we also tried to go to the Showdown Series Post Sign(not large or small) in free mode and got stuck in an infinite load screen with the revolver chamber. Now the infinite load screen happens when I try to do any Showdown regardless when I quick join or join from the starting Online screen. There doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason just random. Even then they still need to separate the modes, because I don't want to play through modes like Most Wanted, Hostile Territory, etc. to get to Spoils of War or Up in Smoke.

Absolutely agree with you here Commander. Glad the K/D stat got bumped but as a whole I am a little underwhelmed by the stats in RDR2/O, online more-so for this exact reason.

 

Spent on clothes/weapons split into sub categories, consumables or even by location with spent/sold, like 'spent x at Valentine saloon' or on poker even. To know how much I made off maps and looting valuables would be cool too. (I am a former Football Manager nut and I do like my numbers, lol). Just a bit more depth after GTA:O proved really cool for me in this regard. :)

I know they're trying to go for realism, which overall is a good thing, but I can barely see where I'm going at night in this game; yesterday I crashed into an NPC, just outside the Bayou, coming in the opposite direction on their horse. I couldn't see them at all until we collided. Of course, they survived and shot and killed me just as I stood up and before I could draw my gun.

 

Someone the other day; my apologies, I forgot who or where it was posted, mentioned that it seems like NPCs purposely turn into you as you're approaching them on the paths. I too have noticed this; it's almost as bad as the traffic in GTAO!

Realism up to so far. There is rain every freaking day, with the heaviest blackened skies, thunder, fog, dust clouds every day. The nights are even worse when they, yet again, release the fog. I haven't experienced a single game day without rain. Even in New Austin. You can bet your socks that within 3 game hours after sunrise, it will rain. No matter where you are, no matter what you do, it will rain, at least once a day. 

Not seen a single sunny fogless and dustless day so far. 

 

About the npc traffic, I bet it's the same dev who works on AI drivers in GTA Online as well as RDO and he probably doesn't have a driver's license.

I've seen a normal day, but its uncommon and more likely to appear in New Austin than anywhere else. I'm willing to bet that West Elizabeth and New Hanover sees the most rain and not regular rain either. I'm talking Summer Thunderstorm from the South East US weather. Even when you get a clear day....you might get a foggy night or vice versa. Best place I've found to be at night is West Elizabeth more specifically the Great Plains(one of my top 5 favorite places in the game). Shoot even if you get a clear day it will last only maybe a couple of in-game hours. I wish we just have weather like Cloudy Sunsets or even Cloudy with no rain like this:

 

Cloudy Day, but not overbearing or heavy. Having a nice day without the sun all in ya face

This by evening. If we had more of these all I would need is the R* editor and I'm good to go.

Even when we have a clear day and we are about to get a huge storm we should see something along the lines of this, because a lot of the storms in the game move in too fast without warning or changes over time besides the wind pickup which I did notice in the game:

God, I hate PvP in this game with a passion. I tried joining King of the Castle to complete the daily challenge. I spawn in, find myself behind another player where I have the opportunity for a clear headshot on them. I'm using bolt action with express rounds; I aim and fire, but they live and turn right around, fire, and take me down instantly with one shot from a revolver. F*cking ridiculous. And yea, I know, ability cards; dumbest f*cking thing ever to be added to this game. Ah yea, then I walk around, find another player, and once again have another clean headshot opportunity lined up; I go into dead eye to use PIB and what happens - that's right, I get the black screen disconnected by fault of R* alert. So much for that; complete waste of time! 😠 Ugh, I'm sorry, but I find this frustrating beyond the comprehension. At least in GTAO, you're awarded with being quick and accurate with your shots; here it's largely still a matter of which card(s) you happen to be holding and have maxed out. Talk about a complete lack of realism.

Lol, all so very true! I feel as though the daylight hours seem far too short overall; if it's not raining, it seems to be dark or at least nearing dusk. There are times when I feel like the whole game is set in British Columbia or UK during the middle of winter. Well, with the addition of some random dust, but yea, it shouldn't rain every day in all parts of the map. There should at least be times where we have a day or two of continuous rain and when we have at least a few full in-game days of clear skies and plenty of sun; depending on the region, of course.

 

I've yet to fully investigate, but if it's raining in one area, is it raining in every other region at the same time as well?

Its about time R* deleted all these cards and refunded players there hard earnt, R* change and play with other stuff they really need get rid of this sh*t card system low ranks dont stand a bloody chance so unfair imo, And certainly NOT realastic

To be honest, it's about time R* realized that tacking PvP onto a game built for PvE will almost always deliver a sub standard PvP experience and change their focus to PvE. 

 

I'm not saying ditch PvP completely, just keep it simple with basic LTS, death match, team death match, capture the flag etc. Just stop churning out this endless supply of PvP modes and focus on co-op PvE missions.

Have to set your stable settings every time you buy a horse, cuz it reverts to scrawny nag for story missions if you don't. Damn that's a pain when you forget and get the nag.

Yeah - and I kinda get that they probably figured players wouldn't want to have to fill out everything for a second time if they'd already done so in single-player, but since they do have awards for hunting different animals (and catching all 15 types of fish), some kind of in-game progress tracker and guidebook would be nice.

 

Maybe they could sell one, even - a second book that you can keep in your satchel, like the catalogue, and take out when you want to check your hunting/survivalist progress, or read up on the best place to look for something.

Ok, then I get what you're out after. And yes I agree. Had the problem with the fish. Was missing two and took some time to figure out which.

I hope that book you mention is a little addition with the role playing coming. Would love it.

 

Fun fact though: On PS4 (as of yesterday lunch) the compendium trophy is my rarest currently at 0.2%, lol. (Though I am yet to get the rank 50, 70 gold, and the plat - I believe aside the plat, the 70 gold is the rarest - Stupid replay mission ideas!).

I genuinely feel it's childish. A top trump PvP system, c'mon. I know GTA dropped the bar, but this is a step backward IMHO.

I'm not a huge fan of the Ability Cards, even though I've learned to live with them. From my own experience once players have upgraded a number of cards, most of them are using similar loadouts anyway, so the effect levels out. 

 

What I dislike far more is diving. It annoys me even more than the combat roll spam in GTAO.

Seems like the pink cloud for this game is wearing off for the sh*thead griefers who migrated over from GTAO. In the past days and weeks I've noticed a measurable increase in hostile players, players who follow defensive players around and hassle them and try to kill them until they're forced to switch sessions. It's only going to get worse, as it did with GTAO. I'll also bet money that R* will cater to these twats, again like GTAO, but this time with armored buggies with chain guns, armored helmets for FR, more OP weapons ect..

 

This could all be 100% solved with invite lobbies, but then R* wouldn't be able to monetise the various player types as successfully..

Yeah, rather daft. Does feel weird too. I look like a twat so look to just take cover before popping the first bandit, if I can, such is the matchmaking pap. :(

The card system is literally just a basic skill tree, not sure why people keep badgering on about the package it's in (cards). I think that sort of progression is a good fit for the game in theory though I do think they kinda went in the wrong direction with them. I'd rather they were more about enhancing playstyles, like making you a little better with pistols or shotguns or whatever, maybe even adding unique skills/animations once ranked up high, like say a someone skilled in melee would fight in a different style, or someone skilled in gunslinger would have different animations, fancier twirls when holstering etc. 

 

That way you're not getting overly powerful over newer players (though there's nothing wrong with a power curve) and also people can look at you and go "oh he's a a brawler, he's a gunslinger, he's a hunter, etc".

 

Right now it's like oh I shot him in the head but he didn't die, he's got never without one, or oh I went in paint it black but couldn't target him, he's got slippery bastard. It's not very interesting.

I would have much preferred something along these lines. For me it would have added another small level of immersion.
