Yeah male playing as a female, because on GTAO I played a male as my primary, but I like to mix it up. I've had a friend start over from a level 178 just because. He didn't say whether he regret doing it or not so he was more indifferent about it.

I just see it as doing a second run through. Because once I got to 100 I’d felt in my mind I’d completed it anyway.

Damn 415, and this was a while back too so you'd undoubtedly be 500+ by now, easily. I'm 322 and no life the hell out of this game, but I'll admit I don't play anywhere near as much showdown as you probably were doing.

Wow ok so 222 doesn't feel so bad now

Is there some sort of off-the-radar glitch I've missed? I was just being repeatedly griefed by a level 200+ who had no blip, no ID visible above his character, and was immune to lock-on (perhaps he was defensive, but that doesn't explain the invisible blip).

I didn't experience the griefing part, but I saw three people earlier who were using this glitch. I thought one was an NPC until they rode up next to me whilst I was picking Desert Sage before the daily challenges changed over. I was in defensive mode; they kind of did a circle around me on foot, then I jumped on my horse and took off, but they didn't follow. One was in Blackwater killing cops and the other I passed along the shore north of Saint Denis; neither tried to target me, but having seen it three times and very few players actually on the radar, I thought something was broken on my end.

Griefing increasing since Defensive Mode became available has made hunting for animals or treasure frustratingly pointless. Successfully defending yourself against high level malcontents is only interesting after the first few times. Once they start chasing you around, you have to let them kill you to parlay long enough to find a chest. And when it's empty, all you can do is shoot the first squirrel you see. Ah well, guess that's PVP in an idiocracy for you.

As for players taking advantage of your kills when you're on defensive mode, seems easy enough to me for the game to "award" the player who gets the kill shot. Once you can afford a decent rifle, it can be done in one and promotes proper hunting tactics anyway. Someone not awarded the kill starts skinning it, they lose defensive and become hostile, just like when stealing a horse. How is that difficult? Like in my surfing days: if it's your wave, everyone needs to back the hell off or get lumped.

Would hate to see "greyed out" safe modes for all activities like with the butcher and in GTA where you can't get touched, but I'm not sure there's another option as long as the "great unlaid" have access to the servers.

Lol, yes, and it seems like everybody with a rifle has been hunting these of late, but you've kept that weapon as nice as the day you bought it; vell done! 😜

I encountered a weird glitch the other night; after visiting the butcher in Tumbleweed, every butcher I went to afterwards had his exact voice and quotes. Very odd, I must say!

Not to mention every plant, person, ambush, stranger, camp defense, item and animal are almost always in the same spot. Have killed the same cougar, bear, wolves. Saved the same woman with her ankle same dialouge of falling on a root too many times now I'm scared of her. I always know where everything is now lol ya know maybe random wouldn't help with some things like plants but uh everything seems pretty boring artificial now when you know it all. I think it would be more fun with some randomness (no not gonna say the evil abbreviation) and ha ha ya no memories whatsoever, amnesia yay.

"Well, new marksman in town, I see"

"Haven't seen you in here before"

"First time around?"

-----------------------------------------------------

Strung Sombrero.

"Handwoven sombrero with embossed leather band and trim. Protect your head, neck and shoulders from the blazing sun while looking extraordinary".

.......

What blazing sun? You mean that pale bit at sunrise, right after the fog lifts, 3 minutes before the thunderstorms, slashing rains, dust clouds and then dusk sets in again?

Lol, the weekends are absolutely a time I'd rather avoid this game. It'll be filled with weekend warriors, like every weekend. :D

Most of them are free easy kills, since they suck at whatever they try to do to you. But, they are a nuisance nonetheless :D

Never noticed much of a problem at weekends, plays pretty much the same as every other day past 5pm your time when people are out of school or at work. It's so easy to avoid griefers now anyway.

Really no joy there for me, but have fun cleaning up the towns my dude. :)

Possible, but I've just got no interest in trying to avoid them if they do turn up anytime.

I'll stick to my mid morning weekday hour. ;)

Each to their own but in my experience it's virtually a complete non-issue. Played daily for over a month (got the 28 day challenge reward) and I've been griefed 0 times. Only time I've got into fights is when I know full well what I'm getting into. Defensive mode and parleys after 1 kill have pretty much solved that type of griefing.

The only stumbling block to stop you playing should be the the fact the game still has f*ck all to do lol

It's not so bad when I play most often, which is after 5/6 am UK time. Yea, that's probably a bit earlier than mid-morning, but I've still yet to run into any serious griefing at all since the update; even during weekends. You should give it a try if you're awake! 😁

Truth, people are so bored they have to pretend they're getting griefed just to stay engaged 😂

@Jason @-LN-. I appreciate the advice guys, I really do.

The content limits are why an hour every couple of days is enough, for sure I agree and it's genuinely baffling how R* started here with so little.

That said, I've had a couple of recurrences (late last year, another this last 2 weeks) of something I'd rather not discuss out here and stress is something to be avoided as best as, hence the sneaky hour. Probably shouldn't even do that currently, lol.

I tried, and I love this game. But I cannot allow myself to get sucked in like I can when folk take the piss which has shown it's ugly head more than I hoped. :)

Well, like I said, most of them weekend warriors stink at what they try on you and end up getting killed over and over again. Totally agree on the fact that there's really nothing to do in the game. For me it's just doing a daily. If easy=yes, then more, but that'a about it. Couldn't even be bothered with selling the pelts on the back of my horse, before logging off today. Not a butcher in sight.

Ran into a two man posse like that, persistent, too ran through a good chunk of my "good" ammo. Fun times, though  😛

Tried doing some missions tonight.  Got my wagon blown up my some jerks.  Got griefed while in defensive mode, got offline.  Seems like everything you try to do is met with hassle.  Private lobbies are the only way I suppose.

Depends on what session you're in...I get good and bad, mostly good though. Keep in mind you're asking for trouble with some of those stagecoach missions: so make sure to pick the ones that give rival players little to no time to attack. Different train stations have different routes and some offer rival players only a few seconds. The one at Valentine is one of the worst, gives rival players extra time.

6 times in a row I tried to enter a Showdown mode but everytime I get a black screen and I'm done trying. I cannot believe this is still not patched.  It's been happening since around January to me and it got even worse.
