Is it true that on Race Series every horse has the same stats? I've read somewhere that they're downgraded.

I believe that's correct. I read somewhere that the stats only effect FR performance.

 

Pretty sure it's the same in missions, too. The gimme horse I got, that everybody gets, seems to keep up with every other steed I run with.

Lower your bad honor enough and you get 2 extra missions or raising your good honor high enough lets you get 2 extra missions as well. Other than that, there is absolutely no reason to have an honor system in RD:Online.

I'm new to the game, don't do so well in PvP showdowns. I'm level 13 and only have basic guns, what guns should I get at this level?

 

In fact what should I invest in at this level?

Varmint Rifle.

Varmint is a no brainer. But bolt action is my favourite. Both must haves imo.

Headshots one shot against players and A.i

 

Varmit, Lanchaster rifle are a good shout. Volcanic pistols and schofield revolver are alright if you want extra guns and ammo

Quoting myself 

near st denis. Spoonbills,herons etc until you got 10 feathers. Hunt everything small like muskrats,frogs etc. Kill gators for meal n teeth. One perfect deer or small gator for the horseback,2 perfect herons etc for the sides. Loads of cash and you only lose like 15$ in the worst case.

 

I think for cash thats the best you can do.

where can I find express cartridges for rifles? there is a hideout/cabin you can pick it up....5 rounds...but I forgot where

I know of the cabin in cumberland falls (same from SP mission) where you get slugs for your shotgun...but I DO need the express rounds!

In my experience they aren't the same, just all horses have downgraded stats, so the difference between a slow horse and a fast horse is much smaller than in Free Roam.

 

If you go to the player menu before a race starts and click R3, you can see what your horses actual stats will be for the upcoming race.

 

I generally use the free arabian for open races, and a bay thoroughbred for traditional races. I began winning alot more as soon as I upgraded from my default 'steal a free horse' mission at the beginning of the game. This is just my personal anecdotal experience though (as the best horseman this side of the lannaheche )

Along with gun oil, horse reviver/stimulant, and a bunch of other goodies

For clothing and aesthetics, yes.

 

For anything else, no.

Do you get significantly more money/gold/exp after winning a Most Wanted showdown, or do you just get the usual amount?

Headshots are where it's at. Rifle comes down to personal preference. Varmint has excellent fire rate but does zero body damage so accuracy is key. A good shot gun (I like the pump action) is needed for close combat (in and around buildings for example).

 

Other than that, research ability cards and when you decided what load out suits you start getting them upgraded.

 

I'm always surprised how many high level players (Lvl 50+) are not utilising ability cards!

^Go to this location on the map, you will find 3* trout lying on the ground which sell for $2.50 each. Most I've seen spawn at once is 6 but it's usually 3 or 4. You can keep going back and forth to the butchers in Tumbleweed and they will keep spawning on the ground. Remember to grab a 3* deer or sheep as well in between trips to make some extra cash.

Up to $46.00~, 660~ XP, 0.08 Gold. That's the highest, I remember for winning. All that in 10 minutes, including lobby waiting times.

How recent was that? Because literally all the showdown modes, winning or losing should give 0.08. But 0.04 if joined in progress or the match ended too soon.

I got the $1100 pre order + UE on day one of the rollout. Didn't get an alert like with the gold. It appeared in my balance in between visits to the butcher while I was playing.
