I actually think the character creator is pretty good, most characters look fairly different which is great. Hope we get a chance to make some more changes though, since there are some things I noticed after creation, as seems to be the case with pretty much everyone

The choice of clothing available at the start is completely random every time it seems like. I got like 3-4 items that are rank 50+ and a coat you have to pay for with gold. So its just about luck

The problem with the creator is the starting points we're given, if we had better starting options, and could apply any skintone to any head option it would improve it dramatically. But some of the options they give us look like cartoon characters.

My first toon had fitted jeans and what looked like decent clothes, no patches and stuff.

 

The second had only crap choices. The only good one was the overalls with that closed shirt, but I wouldn't have it.

 

Word of warning: If you like your toon with no hat and you forget to save your original outfit, there is no option to remove it if you use special editions suits, as all have darn hats. I THINK you can counter by selecting your original outfit WITH a hat and use "No hat" option, but not sure.

I agree with this, I know when I made mine I got a single good looking preset, with the rest being completely horrible (as in some of the worst i’d seen) If I had known at the time you could randomize to get other presets I would have tried. Then again i’m fairly pleased with mine, and it helps with keeping toons unique, but it is limiting and needs work 100%

Yes! Ultimate Edition. As mentioned though, the selection of clothing you get access to at start does seem random.

You need to own a hat separate from the special outfit hats to be able to access the hat menu, so if you're having the issue it's because you don't own any hats, buy one from the catalog to fix the issue. I hope they fix it but it is pretty easy to work around fortunately.

You don't actually get different presets from randomize, people just think that because it randomizes the jaw, eyes/brow, mouth, etc. settings which makes the presets look different, it's a useful way to experiment with the presets, but it doesn't actually change the presets themselves.
