I dont quite understand why some people dislike the editor. In my honest opinion, it is way ahead of the GTAO editor. Everyone looked the same in GTAO. You get some real variety here. I guess if you want the generic super model look then the RDRO editor is harder to use. But apart from that? You can still make very beautiful characters. More options would always be nice, I get that. But the editor itself is really good imo.

The variety you can get out of the editor is great but the issue people have is that it's missing key options (eye, nose, chin in particular) so while people can create something that looks decent/good, they can't get their characters exactly how they want them.

I deliberately make my characters look like rough savages. First of all, I think it's more plausible, given the amount of rough and tumble I'm going to be doing. Hardly a pretty-boy's game.

I'll probably delete him and make a female.  I'd like to try and make Ellie or Joel from the last of us but I think that might be asking too much.  The only good replication I've seen so far is a hulk Hogan.

Ok so I spent an hour or so trying to recreate your character based on the three screenshots you posted.

First of all, I don’t believe you used Head 07, it just doesn’t match at all even with some tweakings. My guess is that you used Head 09, at least this is closest one I could find.

 

Anyway, here are some crappy pictures I quickly took with my phone :

 

 

It doesn’t match perfectly but that’s the best I could do. If anyone is interested I can share more details tomorrow, I have all the footage on my PS4 but right now I just need some sleep.

A quick backstory on my character. This is Clyde Monroe, a career killer and former gang leader who was scheduled to hang in San Denis for multiple murders committed by himself and his gang (all of which have either been shot down or hung). During the opening break out scene the prison guards mistakenly mixed Clyde up with a wrongfully accused prisoner. Because of this case of mistaken identity, a bloodthirsty killer was set loose in New Hanover while an innocent man was hanged in his place. With a second chance on life and a clean slate, Clyde is faced with the decision to completely change the animal he was or allow himself to fall back into his old ways and be consumed by them.

 

For some reason, in game, his cheekbones are A LOT more pronounced than they were in the character creator, I'm a little disappointed about that, hopefully Rockstar will allow us a second shot to tweak our characters faces a bit when RDO leaves the beta phase, that would be the main thing I'd change. But for now, they are a part of his backstory. His overly pronounced cheekbones are the result of a severe beating dealt to him by multiple Sisika Penitentiary guards when he was initially placed there.

 

I have no idea how I am going to go the high honor route with this guy, he looks like a straight up villain.  lol

sh*t, I can actually see that now that you mention it. He was reminding me of someone, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

 

Your guy definitely looks tough and not someone to get into a fist fight with.  lol  Looks-wise, hes a mountain man and definitely belongs over in Tall Trees or up in the East Grizzlies.

you are probably right on the faces tbh i was just going off twitter pictures from laughing with my friend an one of my progress pics had head 7 which looked like this (before i played around with it for another hour)

im going to play around with it on alt account if its unlocked you are pretty close tho, all i remember had smoocher lips.

Dude, it’s 1800’s frontier life. Potential partners were extremely limited. Marrying first cousins was very common, skin diseases were the norm, there were no day spas or moisturiser and super models were at least a hundred years in the future.

There is no Head 07. Or Head 9. The head options that you're given are completely random. The Head 07 and Head 09 that he got are completely different than the ones you got. And the ones you got were completely different than the ones I got.

 

If you get 17 ugly faces, select Randomize, then go through them again. Every time you select Randomize, it randomizes whatever face you're looking at, AND the 16 other faces. Wash, rinse, and repeat until you get one you like, or until you see one that you think you can work with. But they're never the same.

 

Also, refresh your character's age periodically while you're editing. Set it to a higher number, then back down to the age you want. I've noticed a glitch similar to the aged skin glitch in GTAO. It'll say she's 23 or whatever, but after a few tweaks, she'll randomly get 40 yo wrinkles and sh*t. Even though the age hasn't changed. Something to look out for before you finalize your character. Caught me by surprise on my first character, but I noticed it and fixed it on my second...

I have 3 friends who all had the same head options as me, so I am a bit skeptical about the random heads thing (has it been proven to work this way? Maybe its always the same basic face shape, but the order and the parts like the nose gets randomized?), but I can confirm the age reset thing, almost didn't realize it was happening. Also, if you enter into the confirm picture and back out, your face will be randomized, for example my eyes went from hazel-green to a light blue when I backed out of the confirm picture.

while i dont know if that is the case with what we are ninja said i went to my alternate account an had a go using head 9 all my characters through games tend to look the same cuz i go off my likeness its easier to go what i usually go for an get similar results though rdo is far from what im use to

i got this and put all the options in one picture.

 

 

 

 

 

while it probably isnt the same as my first char its a quick attempt i didnt have much time, the nose / ears / make up is all suggestive.

i really hope rockstar lets us make a second character like gtao when the beta is over. i made a african american character first (like myself) i love him, he gives me a young chalky vibes from boardwalk empire, (ill post as soon as i figure out how to post pics here) but i do want to make a native/mexican or caucasian character with the second slot. if we ever get one that is.

Mine is supposed to look like my GTA Online character as closely as possible, but I couldn't get it very close at all. Right now I've ran out of PS+, so I can't get any pictures of him, but I get paid tomorrow so until then here's my GTA Online character (taken badly off of my TV)... lol.
