I wonder if we'll get some stores discount if we get to max honour. If so, which benefits would a player with the lowest possible honour get then?

More golden nuggets from completing missions?

Quoting this again in case someone missed it from last page.

Quote

Can't rob gunsmiths. A rifling upgrade for the Volcanic Pistol costs 60$.

Metals customizations can only be bought with gold bars. Varnishes, engravings, carving can be bought with both gold bars and cash.

No gun is exclusively purchaseble with gold bars thankfully.

Oh god.....

The one thing that shouldn't be in Online. Guess griefers being 20 minutes away from somebody wasn't good enough for good ol' C*

In "Free roam" you continue where you left, other selections are fast travels

Seriously, hold the outrage over prices of guns and stuff. The game is 2 hours old, there will no doubt be higher paying missions later in the game. No sh*t we aren't expected to get the best guns like the Mauser in a day or so.

Who knows, maybe the outrage will be justified once people get deep into the game but as of this moment we have absolutely no idea about how bad the prices are. There's also a lot of misinformation going around about what you can and can't buy with gold bars.

Can you buy guns with gold bars? And if so, can you buy guns that you haven't unlocked the level to purchase normally? Cause that's be pretty bad.

There's the Honor Bar though. The Honor Bar may have something to do with how the gameplay for GTA Online will be. Shooting players, stealing horses and generally doing stupid sh*t gives you negative honor. I would like to know what happens if you reach very low honor.

I saw that on a video showcasing the lasso

It's not like GTA's useless mentality stat is it, where interaction with NPC sh*t affects it?

Alright it looks like horse insurance is only buyable with gold bars and cannot be purchased with in-game cash.

Either gold nuggets are easy as hell to farm once you get going or Rockstar f*cked up.

Nope, locked items related to ranks stay locked. Not sure if we can buy guns with gold bars too, I'll have to level up a bit since there's no available gun to buy at my rank yet.

Yes there are fences, one is at Thieves' Landing.

Aah, it's worse. Steal a random horse and you got yourself some netagive Honor, boah.

Are the ultimate edition free guns the same ones as single player?

Cause why not? You can still go to stores and buy them that way. It's convenient, it's a good idea.

Immersion works so well in Single Player because it relies on realism and plausibility.

There is none with "magic item ordering from a catalogue in the middle of the wilderness".

I’ll take a wild guess the gold bars work something like this:

they can be purchased for real-world money, or earned by luck/grinding missions. You cannot convert them to in-game cash, and thus are only useful in buying things that specifically call for gold bars. Most things will have a price in both cash and in gold bars, and some things will be gold bar-exclusive. Gambling will be restricted only to the in-game cash so as to sidestep any electronic gambling laws.

It’s honestly a clever way of doing it. I’m almost certain it’s done this way so they could work gambling into the game. Had they just allowed us to buy money, they wouldn’t’ve been able to add things like poker and blackjack online because of e-gambling restrictions. This would’ve upset a lot of people. How do you resolve it? Make the paid-for currency unrelated to the virtual currency, and restrict the paid-for currency’s use to only non-gambling purchases.

I don't remember lol

I got the Volcanic Pistol, Varming Rifle and Pump-Action Shotgun for free.

The bow is unlocked at rank 10 and costs 124.00$.

That's a fair point however in online immersion is always sacrificed for quality of life. Finishing up a mission and then heading back to camp, ordering some ammo on the way to restock etc is convenient and limits the amount of back and forth to stores you'll have to do which is useful when playing with friends as it doesn't slow everyone down.

I do get where you're coming from though.

Ult Edition owners getting the Volcanic pistol is a bit iffy when it comes to PvP. Volcanic pistol vs Cattleman revolvers is uh....

Actually there is lol, you can order pretty much anything from the catalog on the rdr2 app and it will magically appear in your satchel.

At least with online you have to actually go collect it.

There are some gun holsters that can only be bought with gold bars though. The catalogue at gunsmiths doesn't sell dynamites.

Fences sold dynamite in the SP, it might be there.

Has anyone seen the trapper?  Can we still craft unique clothing from animal pelts?

I gotta go now, I'll check in 2 hours as soon as I can play again.

Also, you obviously can't duel anywhere like in SP. I tried going for it but my character just shot some building and got wanted for "disturbing the peace" lol

Didn't see any trapper icon in the game map. If they are, they're not in their usual SP location.
