Apparently people are getting an "early access" to RDO, based on the following Achievements / Trophies:

Go check out your own profiles and verify this information!!!!

  • Breakout

    Red Dead Online: You completed the Intro.

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Series Major

           Red Dead Online: You took part in a Series.

           Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Getting Started

    Red Dead Online: You reached Rank 10.

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • All's Fair

    Red Dead Online: You successfully countered a rival Posse's Free Roam mission.

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Posse Up

    Red Dead Online: You formed a Persistent Posse.

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Master Craftsman

    Red Dead Online: You crafted 20 items (excluding ammo).

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Butchered

    Red Dead Online: You sold 20 items to the Butcher.

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Picked to Perfection

    Red Dead Online: You picked 25 Herbs.

    Only 0.01% of gamers unlocked this

  • Strength in Numbers

    Red Dead Online: You completed a Free Roam mission as part of a Posse with at least 2 members.

This has been known since day 1 pretty much. They did the same with GTAO with friends and family testing, which is what's probably going on here.

Probably just internal testing. I doubt anyone will pick 25 herbs if they managed to cheat the system and get early access.

 

This may be a hint that it’s getting released soon...

Nah it's been like that since day 1. There are no people confirmed as having any of the online trophies on psnprofiles which makes me believe its probably just reported as 0.01 as a minimum percentage.

Your YouTube people and reviewers will always get 1st access for marketing purposes..but don't worry these people never actually enjoy the games they play like we do it's just a job to them for money views ect

Nah, 0.01% might be the minimal number on PS4, but on XboxOne some trophies have 0.01% and some have 0.00%, so unless someone can explain the different 'minimal numbers', it's someone actually playing.

Well we'll be the testers for this, same way we tested GTAOnline for 5 years, they are just making sure that it actually triggers lol

I just checked the achievements and someone completed Guns For Hire, clearly someone is playing it right now.

Bear in mind, some achievements are still at 0.00%

Yeah I don't think these are testers either, I think this is someone with early access just like what happened with the main game.

Early access was because they had the disc early was it not? This being a download, it seems unlikely with early access. But I don’t know - just haven’t hear or seen anyone actually claim they have access.

It was a thing for GTA Online, they call it "Family & Friends Beta".

As far as I remember, they had 6k members playing it and all of them are under NDA. Next thing you know, some new account showed up and leaked some info but at that point, no one believed him.

I'm not sure if it's the same case with RDO, they might be doing it with less members to ensure no one leak info, I also heard T2 is going hard on leaks so I doubt anyone's willing to risk his life even with a fake account.

Did they ever announce a date for GTAO back in 2013? I know they announced the game but did they say that the date of release would be the 1st of October?

Apparently they've mentioned the release date the day they've dropped the gameplay trailer of it back in August 2013, but they did post this article a day before the release.

They have a handful of testers who test the trophies/achievements prior to launch to ensure everything is unlocking properly. That is what you are seeing. Yes they are playing early but it’s part of the process prior to launch. This is a good sign, it gives me confidence that we will see Red Dead Online this week.

Nah, I doubt these are game testers, these are probably people with early access codes just like those that got codes to play GTAO before it's release, or even those that got to play this game as well before it's release (yes there were people with early physical copies but there were also people that got codes being sent to them by Rockstar a day or two before the release, some of them are moderators of this forum).
