Deadman2112
This may be known to some but for the ones that haven't figured this out yet, here's a tip the rest of the community might find useful. If your out hunting having a hard time finding the more elusive animals like moose and are unable to get them too come out of hiding. Go into your go into your Eagle Eye Tracking mode and if you see streams of white sent coming off of you. This means you are putting off an odor that the animals close by can smell. When in your Eagle Eye Tracking mode if you see really long streams of sent coming off of you... This means you smell like crap and everything around you knows you are there no matter how quiet and stealthy you are. The proof of this is if you have really long streams of sent coming off of you and hang around camp Miss Grimshaw will come up to you from across the camp and say... Arthur. You smell like horse $h!t and make you clean yourself. While out hunting you have 3 opinions to fix this... #1 Jump in a stream and swim around for a few minutes to get clean. (Although I've found this trick doesn't last as long as the others.) #2 Go to your horse and change clothing. #3 Use sent remover. Best of luck to everyone on the hunting trail. imburgundy
It's also wind related so if you have no cover up scent then just make sure your scent is blowing behind you so the animals can't smell it ahead of you Ayesha, Deadman2112 and Psyperactive81

RayD70
Yeah, scent is important. So is movement once you've controlled the scent problem. Crouch. Move slow. Move from cover to cover. You can get close enough to slap them in the rear if you do it right. Do it wrong, and all the cover scent in the world won't keep them from spooking. Or, you know, barrel in at full gallop on your horse and dead-eye them down. :D Psyperactive81 and Ryancoke66

On of my favorite quotes (I think) was from an IGN video on hunting, while discussing the different qualities of the pelt and how to hunt them properly; and it said something along these lines: "Shooting the deer with the right type of ammo will help conserve its pelt in pristine condition as opposed to running it down with your horse and trampling it to death, though the latter is a lot more fun than the former" ROFLMAO 1 hour ago, Deadman2112 said: True, but a town is not always close when you are far out in the wilderness. Good point, but if you are planing a drinking...err... Hunting trip, you can always get nice bath before heading out.
