Rockstar should have let us blow Michas head clean off with a shotgun instead of Dutch shooting him first and leaving us the seconds, it was like kicking a bloke who is already on the ground. Felt really disappointing... Rockstar missed the trick!!!

Best thing would be to spit on him with Arthur and give him the TB. That would be the most satisfying thing. But Regardless of that I managed to shoot his balls, two eyes and fat stomach which felt good.

The best thing would have been, if Arthur could have killed him in a very sadistic way before dying.

 

Even John’s revenge didn’t do anything for me, as Micah was already half dead from Dutch’s shot. 

 

I didn’t get the revenge I wanted...

I disagree. The game makes Micah look better than both of the protagonists who fail to kill him singlehandedly, Arthur couldn’t manage it, John needed help from Dutch. It’s a weak end and a very weak revenge in my book.

I think Dutch should have disarmed Micah and walked off while leaving Charles, Sadie and John as a firing squad on that fool.

Most random NPC’s you come across gets a worse fate than Micah. I very much agree - after what he did and after all that time when you, as the player, were just waiting to exact revenge on him and he gets shot by Dutch? And then one shot from me and that’s it? I was disappointed.

 

I would have expected a fist fight like the one between Micah and Arthur, only with the difference that this time I would get to stomp his face into a wet pool against the ground. A long, even fist fight and then having the option to beat him as much as we’d want even though he’s died, then piss on his corpse and feed it to the pigs.

 

That would’ve been fair.

I agree with OP, I didn't get the revenge I felt I needed.

 

I would have enjoyed another fist fight, no help from Dutch, ending with @The FoolYTgreat suggestion. Micah tied to a post by John, no blindfold, Charles, John and Sadie as the firing squad.

Getting shot by the big boss, made him realise that he had not only gotten beaten in a physical sense, but also in a mental sense.

 

I see the desire to kill him single handled as rather shallow and simple, compared to him being backstabbed and betrayed by dodge. There is a symbolic value to that as well.

Yeah, I gotta agree with others. I'm glad they didn't go the typical revenge route. This game is about redemption after all

To be honest, I wasn't really that bugged by it. I loved the game, but was sort of glad it was over too. I was just happy to get my life back!

Yeah, that's basically the overall theme of the game.

 

People forget Arthur was never interested in getting revenge, his top priority was getting John and his family to safety. Revenge is partially what screwed the gang over when Dutch time after time pursued vengeance instead of keeping a low profile and properly planning for a way out of their situation. Sadie laments that she's now a monster because of her vendetta against the O'driscolls, she watched Colm die and it's implied she killed all the members responsible for what happened to her, but she still didn't find peace after that. 

 

And then there's John going after Micah, he inadvertently reveals himself to Ross because of that. After eight years of trying to keep a low profile and starting a new life, he couldn't follow his own advice or that of his wife and threw it all away over sh*t-bag Micah. Dutch strongly insinuated that he went up to the mountain to kill Micah not join him, if John had stayed home, Micah would have been taken care of regardless, and John could have lived out his life as a rancher with his family - but I guess that wouldn't lead to RDR 1, would it .

Come to think of it, was there any actual redemption at all in this game?  All i got is that the game was A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Arthur's journey in chapter 6 was about redemption. You could say john has it to some degree going from deadbeat to one that begans to care for his family and tries to lead a normal life.

Something like this would have made a great ending option IMO. Micah laughing in Arthurs face, spouting his Black Lung taunt, and as a final f*ck you Arthur spitting in Micahs mouth.

 

Then when John finds Micah he's on his last legs, coughing his lungs up, John uses the same Black Lung taunt and instead of shooting Micah, John just walks away leaving Micah to his inevitable demise.

Haven't you played through the story? Chapter 6 is all about that. There is more "redemption" in this story than in the first RDR actually
