Nitefolk Morse Code Or Language?

Recommended Posts

The FoolYT

Basically I was in Lemonye and was chilling and then i saw two nitefolk. Was going to cap them but was interested in what they would do as they were not aggroed. So i followed and they were making clicking noises and I ain't sure if it's morse code or just their own way of speaking. If anyone knows how morse code is spoken or has some insight, we might learn something about the nitefolk. I've recorded it and you can listen to it below

Spoiler

Please let me know what you think, clicking starts at 20 seconds and i've never heard this anywhere else.

I'm pretty sure it's not morse code, but if it is, they're probably saying: "Three minutes is a pretty long sneak for herbivore bait and an alligator hug."

Sounds more like that clicking noise you make when you're trying to get your horse's attention.

Definitely not Morse code. Morse code uses a combination "dots" and "dashes" which represent short and long tones. Each letter of the alphabet requires at least 3 "clicks", so at best these guys where just saying one letter.

But, I am more intrigued by the body they got rid of, wonder what is the storyline there?

It sounds to me to be the same clicking noise Arthur makes when he spurs his horse.

I wonder if it's just an audio glitch?

It's the special sound the nitefolk use to lure criminal buffoons into a bayou gator trap, so they can get their "Gator Bait" trophy.  😛

NPCs are trying to get 100% in the game too, you know.  👍

The weird thing is that i wasn't hearing this noise prior to following them nor after my demise so i would attribute the sound to them

Seems like the sound was definitely coming from them, I was just thinking it was a glitch that caused the wrong audio file to play. I've encountered those people a few times and never heard that, next time I see them I'll follow them as you did and see what happens.

Well, assuming it was not the swamp audio-frogs and such, if it was them it could be similar to some African tribes.   There is actually a term for a Click Language but I missremember.
