GTA 5 technical limitations

When I play GTA 5 on my Xbox One and PS4 I can it feels like a current-gen game. But GTA 5 released on Xbox 360 and PS3 so there were some sacrifices that were made. I think that's why there aren't as many interiors in GTA 5 as in GTA 4. The physics were also dumbed down probably since it was built off of last-gen. I mean you can compare GTA 5's gunplay to Max payne 3's and you can easily spot a difference. 

 

Now I'm not saying GTA 5 is a bad game, or anything I just think some things were dumbed down for last-gen consoles.

I think you started playin gta 5 soon right?,cuz almost everyone knows what you wrote here(sorry,don't get me wrong,course you can write whatever you want),that's true but gta 5 still a cool game i think,i mean even if its not cool,at least it wasnt that bad in 2013 when it came out.Max Payne 3 gunplay?! Course not,rockstar tried to make best shoother game with it,and tried to make best open world game with gta5,i mean,ok they could do it,gunplay could be better but i don't think it's right comparing it max payne 3 gunplay,also PM3's gunplay isn't needed in Gta 5 i think(or in another gta),thats somethin about max payne games.

Not exactly. The physics weren't dumbed down due to technical limitations as people have found a way to have GTA 4 physics on last gen GTA V. The interiors aren't an issue either as they are mostly loaded in the world anyway. It had a lot to do with artistic decisions.

The interiors aren't loaded in free-mode pal. Most of them spawn in missions then despawn or completely delete the interior items. Just like North Yankton.

I know that but interiors like Lester's House, The protagonists Houses, Tequila la, the warehouse from by the book, FIB building, Bahama mamas, Madrozzos ranch, police station etc. Are all present in free mode although some just don't have the props loaded.

Yeah I said it. Some don't exist snd some don't have items. 

Police Station is enterable. 

 

The props not loading is a good enough reason to consider hardware limitations as why they aren't enterable.

I think changes in physics engine is a design choice.

 

1) Ragdolls back in GTA IV too exaggerated. Crash a motorbike and then fly and roll like endlessly. Losing control of the character such a long time is annoying.

2) Ragdolls on NPCs back in GTA IV also affect them negatively during gun fights. Protagonist you control doesn't go into ragdoll state but the NPCs you shoot go. Once you shoot someone it takes too much time for the recover, making gun fights easier then it should be.

 

GTA V feels like they tried to address & fix these issues.

If we're talking actual known cut backs and not speculation then foliage placement, there's still lods indicating where extra trees and plants would've been and you can just tell roaming around LS by looking at the ground textures where they were cut very late (textures and models indicating a tree is supposed to be there). 

 

This is something they could've restored on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but they instead opted to prioritise GTAO and didn't want to check if their or user content would've been affected by additional placements.

^Yep. This is most noticeable in Trailer 1 as well. People may think it's not that big of a deal but it is. The Blaine Couny area aside They Cut A LOT of Palm Trees out of LS which sucks because it's one of the beauties of real life LA. LS is beautiful. But it looked much better in Trailer One just because of these trees. I wonder if it was because they wanted to make flying choppers easier in online. If that was an excuse it's unforgivable.

I was rewatching some of the pre release trailers of this game today and I saw cops arresting NPCs and chasing them instead of shooting them. Also saw a guy being thrown out of Tequilala. Clearly Something went wrong during the development of this game.
