What GTA V did better than GTA IV.

Another thing V better than IV did was replaying missions. In IV, I would have loved to replay the three leaf clover again without restarting the story again.

-Different cars spawning in different districts. South LS mostly spawns sh*t vehicles while the northern parts spawn higher class. In IV if you drove a comet you could see a street full of comets parked in a place like Bohan.

-After you drop friends off from an activity they won't disappear into thin air like they do in GTA IV and it's cool how you can see different characters occupy the safehouses. Would've been hilarious as f*ck in GTA IV to have walked in on Roman having one of those threesome he'd been dreaming of.😛

The safe houses changed over time. In IV Niko just left everything up at PBX's apartment. You killed this guy and you still have all his pictures on the wall.

Not to mention the longest burning joint in history. PBX's ghost has been toking that sh*t up since 2008. It's scary.

Car customisation.

Tear Gas is back.

While I think the radio in V is god-awful, some of the original music for action in missions is pretty catchy.

I like the option of hang around with more than 1 person at the same time.  In IV, I would have loved to do it with Roman and Little Jacob

Better missions and better pacing.

It's actually colorful.

The map is easy to travel through quickly.

Cover system isn't absolute ass.

Shooting is better (not great, just better).

IV has so much filler and is so repetitive I really struggled to finish it. I liked the antagonists and the ending but I really don't see myself replaying it. Most missions in IV are also forgetable since they are mostly the same thing copy pasted. Three leaf clover, That Special Someone and the final missions are the only ones I kind of remember off the top of my head.

idk

Playboy X's ghost? scary? What's he gonna do, whisper "DAMN, MONEY, U COLD" in your ear everytime you enter the house?

I haven't even heard of a PBX ghost before at all.

The Map:For me the only thing that IV beats V in terms of map design is the interiors. The rest goes to V. I felt the exteriors were handcrafted beautifully and the map had variety. I was surprised that IV's map was smaller than San Andreas. Also it didn't have different areas for role playing in free mode and the restricted areas were a disappointment.

I was actually disappointed by V's map because it's a letdown compared to SA but I sure as hell preferred it over IV. Different restricted areas, sea, canyon, desert, mountains, bay, underwater life, wildlife alongside the different districts in the city accompanied by the clothing and vehicle variety made it a perfect place for role playing activities after I was done with the game and the director mode only made it better. If I had an idea for something to do in free-mode the game had a good map, vehicles and variety to provide me for my idea.

-Firefighters actually do their job.

-Paramedics can't revive DEAD people. Always ruined the immersion. Like I kill a loudmouth out of frustration with an entire clip and suddenly he/she is alive again because of a bunch of paramedics.

I'll personally take San Andreas any day over both IV and V.The graphics are outdated, yes, but it's so much fun even in 2019.Also there are the cheats 😂😂😂😂.You could  mess around with the cheats and you'd never get bored.🤣🤣🤣

Graphics:Grand Theft Auto V

Storyline and Physics:Grand Theft Auto IV

Fun:Grand Theft Auto San Andreas 😂😂😂

I'd probably sum it up in one word - variety.

Variety of missions; Variety of scenery; Variety of side activities and random events; Variety of vehicles and clothes etc. etc.

IV had the better narrative, but the gameplay got bogged down doing similar things in similar places over and over again. V had much less repetition and, for me at least, was much more replayable and held my interest for longer as a result.

-Better Internet Websites

-A more useful phone system with better photo system, a quick save option and convenient internet access.

-Better TV/Shows

-pretty much everything in the media aspect felt better due to the game being more modern and also taking place in the best city when it comes to stuff like this. except for having two responses for emails in IV.

Better weapons/ gunfights

Car customization

Mission variety.

Heists and being able to determine how to carry them out/ how hard you want them to be.

Replaying missions.

Music was better in IV though.

Unlike GTA IV with Roman when someone like Michael's family "borrows" money from you, the results are seen in the bank account.

  • Positioning of traffic lights. It was very hard to see them in IV since they were placed right in front of you.
  • The ability to leave the TV on in safehouses. Adds to the ambiance.
  • Magazines actually detach from the gun when you're reloading. Plus adding suppressors to weapons, and better reloading anims.
  • Pick-ups no longer have a distinct glow underneath them. Makes you more attentive while looking for them.
  • The radio wheel. Much easier to identify a song now.

Completely forgot. Weapon customization is something that is available in GTA V and it works great. I'd have a pistol with silencer for stealth missions and could switch to another one all hell broke loose.

Better variety of heavy weapons.

Music Wheel saying name of the song was good.

Overall customization was done much better in V (characters/vehicles/weapons)

I genuinely believe that the wanted level system is better done in GTA V this time around. Cops might be more aggressive, but the search radius isn't like that where it's a consistent circle. Even though this gives you a better idea s to where to escape the cops, it makes little sense if there's only one a good distance away but the star isn't fading. I think GTA V does a better job because all you have to do is stay out of the line of sight for a good amount of time and you can eventually lose them. Granted it's not as clear when the star will flash, but I think it's a step in the right direction. This might just be me personally though.

The Flying: I believe flying helicopters is more challenging, more realistic and also more satisfying in V. The turbulence plays a big role here.

Now I don't know about you lot but to me it seems like GTA V isn't as well regarded as GTA IV these days

I think a lot of this is because most people, even fans, that are satisfied, eventually talk a lot less about the game than the detractors. Particularly at this juncture in a game's history, when it is coming up on 6 years old. I have always said, of ALL games, that the complainers or detractors tend to be more vocal than the supporters. Because the supporters of any game tend to talk less than the people who are dissatisfied, and trying to influence future games in the series with their complaints, in effect lobbying the devs for changes, since devs read the larger public forums.

So its easy to confuse the feverish fans of a series continuously railing on about how awful the game is with representing some fictitious majority.

By the way, of course GTA V has flaws. Every game ever made does.

I wanted to genuinely express my opinions on the game here but then I realized that I'd have to apply gamer logic for any of you to understand.

-You don't have to exit a circle to lose the cops unlike IV.

-Stunt Jumps are more enjoyable due to controlling the vehicle in the air.

Not to be a Negative Nancy or anything but...

And yes technically this is *a* landmark rather than *the* landmark of Los Santos, which would be the Vinewood sign,  but still.

Thanks for the info. But that landmark really doesn't break the immersion like nowhere near that statue. IV even ends right there and that iconic statue looks like a joke right at the end that you are supposed to be feeling strong emotions in the end.
