Trevor is the first protagonist to use drugs

I mean INTENTIONALLY and CONSISTENTLY use drugs, not once accidentally (see Vic, Tommy, and CJ). Because before Trevor came around, none of the other protagonists were drug users.

But there aren't any adrenaline pills in vice city stories so how Vic can take drugs?

 

What's more Vic stated that he dislike drugs (this stitaution whith the cocaine undered the bed for example).

Claude from GTA 2 was actually the first protagonist to intentionally use drugs. Though to be fair, that’s even if you count the game’s little promotional movie as canon

Yeah. Claude Speed was the first drug user protagonist in GTA, which makes him and Trevor the only two characters who used drugs in the series, I mean unless you count Johnny, who was on that meth during the GTA V timeline, but that was after you play as him in TLAD. So I guess he technically counts as well, which makes it three protagonists who used drugs.

Im pretty sure (unless my memory is failing me) that nowhere in the original San Andreas do you see CJ using drugs of any sort (not talking about background story stuff). Also keep in mind how CJ realises the amount of damages the drug has done to his old neighborhood, which also contradicts with that.

 

Not saying Rockstar never wanted to add drug usage, hence the drug dealers left in the game with who you cannot exactly interact as no matter what you reply, CJ will respond to them negatively.

I think he means the mission "Are You Going To San Fierro?" where CJ was using a flamethrower to burn crop and he accidentally got high from the combination of fire and burning weed.

storylinewise speaking and if talking intentionally i think none of the characters before have taken drugs

as a matter of fact, in no background coming from any gta game before v is specified that certain character has taken x drug so yes, trevor is actually the first one

 

edit: actually it is michael, not trevor, in the mission where amanda and the children abandon him and jimmy gives michael that weird drink that gets him high

So I could be right, but CJ is anti-drugs throughout the entire game so here's a few possibilities:

• In the beta, CJ was weed-friendly and the line was probably recorded before CJ's attiude towards drugs changed. Maybe R* thought this line was too good not to be deleted so they decided to keep it.
• He may be lying to try seem like a drug-dealer to try and convince them he's pro-drugs so they would allow him to work with the yay
• He may be lying to try seem tough as he's talking back to Toreno
• He tried to make a joke
• He may be lying to try get his wallet back
• He may just be a pot-head

I don't think, like most rational people, CJ sees weed on the same level as coke which are the drugs he doesn't like.

OP has never met Barry? See: Grass Roots (GTA V) - all 3 willingly smoke a joint and make it plain that it isn't their first one.
