This stranger mission really touched me, with how you could help her and teach her to hunt and be self sufficient.  I went back there regular to do all the 'missions'.

But best of all, I returned there as John Marston as I wondered if they added anything else to this stranger encounter after Arthur had gone.  As I approached, there was no question mark, but sure enough, the widow was there sitting on the porch, which triggered a cutscene.

I love this game.  This attention to detail and to the stories of these individual characters is brilliant.  Great stuff R*!

I sort of just rushed through the story on my first playthrough. Only did the first Widow mission and when I came back as John there was a question mark at her cabin. I went inside and there was just a skeleton on the floor, wearing her dress.

I wondered if things would've been different if I had taught her more. Now I wonder if you just do a couple of them it gives you a third ending.

Ah that's sad.  Cos I did them all, when you return as John, you get a different outcome.  Arthur taught her well.

You skip teaching her to shoot,so she starved to death.

And I agree this stranger mission is well made

If Arthur was healthy when I met her they would have made a good couple. She seemed like a genuinely nice person.

Then she would have been Widow 2.0.  😕

This and the Veteran mission were great IMO, especially if done to completion in Chapter 6. Arthur opens up a bit in them and they're pretty touching.

The Widow mission is even better when I went back as John, like others have said she was there but she's also aged as well, which was a nice touch.

I didnt do this stranger mission but when I got there as John i still got the mission to teach her, her husband had just passed away so i gues if you dont get there as arthur she doesnt ages and it will give you the mission. Handy info for those that also forgot this mission

I agree, this one was very well done, I also went there as John to check how she end up and I was really glad that she is ok...

I think it was second part of this mission where Arthur teach her how to shoot, but when I was getting close and heard gunshots, I thought that she is under attack of some scumbag and I was really surprised (and relieved)  that she is only practicing... :)

If you don’t help her at all as Arthur you can actually help her as john.

It's a powerful thing when a game actually makes you feel something for the characters. I would return there regular as Arthur just to check everything was ok. Never saw her again as Arthur but there were signs of life at the house so it put my mind at ease. Going back as John made everything all the sweeter knowing she was ok and fully self sufficient.

I really enjoyed this stranger mission. I felt like finally someone gives a crap about Arthur. So glad we have some good strangers in this game. GTA V had some good ones but some of them were annoying Douchebags I couldn't Tolerate(Beverly...)
