Red areas on animals at Dead Eye Lvl 2

I’m at dead eye level 2 currently but when I’m hunting Deer I’m seeing red areas highlighted on their bodies!? I thought that comes when you reach lvl 4 dead eye? Can anyone clarify this please. Is it because I’ve studied the animal? Thanks

Dead eye level only affects how long you can do it, like a stamina bar. You most likely reached chapter 5, which is when you get the ability to see their vital organs (red on their body parts)

From my experience the animal vitals are shown from the first time you can use dead eye. It's only the human vitals that show up later on.
