Red Dead Redemption vs Red Dead Rango

I hope Rockstar keeps Red Dead Online authentic to real world Wild West accuracy. That means NO zombie character models online, NO zombie horses, NO zebra mounts, NO buffalo mounts, NO rocket wagons or rocket horses, NO horses of the apocalypse, NO explosive rifles. They all ruin the immersion of being in the old west.

Undead Nightmare was good fun, I'd be up for something similar as long as it was a separate, self-contained entity. I'd definitely still want the more down-to-earth baseline experience kept pure.

Undead Nightmare is fun and I ain’t against a similar add-on for RDR2. Like you said at hope it’s kept separate from RDR Online Free Roam. No zombies anything in Free Roam.

I'd love for Red Dead Online to be kept more down-to-Earth, but if GTA Online is anything to go by, we'll probably get a flying unicorn that can shoot lasers out of its eyes by next year in freemode.

I liked the zombie mode, because it was a more action packed world with a lot of shooting. I’d like something similar for RDR, but would prefer it as a game mode for online, like a kind of coop survival mode.

I'm not against such things as Undead Nightmare making a return. As long as such things are kept fully separate from the main game I think it's fine. I'm always down for more player options.

 

Explosive ammo is already in the base game, so that horse has bolted. I'd be astonished if explosive ammo doesn't appear in RDO. I'd like to clarify, I'm not a fan, but I am realistic.

 

Overall I agree though, I'd like the RDO experience to be a more down to earth, realistic experience.

 

Obviously there will be disagreement along the way as to what is or isn't realistic. An example of that would be that I'm all for early, period accurate, cars and motorcycles to be added to the game eventually, just as cool collection pieces. I'm sure many would disagree with that.

 

But as long as the game isn't aggressively militarized, like GTAO has been, and whatever additions come along are authentic to the time period in which the game is set, I'll be somewhat happy.

Don't get me wrong, I wholeheartedly agree. I'm at work and was planning on coming back and adding to my post, in hindsight I should have waited before posting.

 

I'd far rather see common authenticity across the board in RDO, but having put 5 years into GTAO I'm somewhat resigned to R*s implementation of the wacky and OTT in their future online multiplayer games.

 

R* did it in RDR MP, I think they'll probably do it again. For better or worse.

Agreed. But RDR MP had bull, buffalo, albino buffalo, super bull and zebra donkey. 

 

While I'd prefer a more realistic, authentic and down to earth experience, I'm resigned to R* implementing such animals as ridable mounts in RDO.

 

I personally wouldn't use them should they come, but I do expect such things to be added.

I can deal without the buffalo... but i need me a donkey as an ownable mount

As much as I hate it, i do agree that we will most likely see some wacky content. I just hope it doesn't go too over the top.

I don't mind the mounts as long as they don't have some ridiculous qualities. e.g. Buffalo can take like 50 more bullets before dying or Zonkey flat out beats every horse in every category.

 

Zombie models didn't really fit tbh in free mode.

 

Rocket horses or futuristic stuff liek that HELL NO

 

Explosive ammo is in the game already and its time consuming to craft but i know that there will probably be people that will max out their explosive ammo in a private/PvE freemode before heading into online with them. If it even has a bit of AoE (haven't used them too much yet) they will be annoying to come across.

Well, we already have explosive ammo, explosive arrows, - and - homing tomahawks... and Online hasn't even been released yet.

I notice people keep comparing RDR1 multiplayer to RDR2 Online. This will likely just be a western GTA Online since that was so successful.

 

That said, I don't think we will see any crazy mounts. Not right away at least. There is lots of stuff R* can do with horses.

If they don't do another Undead Nighgtmare. There are Dinosaur bones in single player, so I wonder if something Dinosaur related would be possible? A bit like an old movie called The Valley of Gwangi.

i came with an classic rdo in my head, i left with a theme park rdo rodeo bouncing in my head. the more i read the more i understand how all of that „sh*t“ willbe added to rdo. all of it! 

 

if you dont believe me, then think about the delorean from backtothefuture in gtao, was it 1885 they travelled back to?
