I did notice aiming put the dot center-mass so, if the bad guy is behind a tree or something, it is going to be shooting the tree and one has to compensate for a head shot.. Shot a deer last eve-it was for camp so did not care about the "Quality of the pelt"-aimed center mass so I compensated for a neck shot and dead-eyed it.
