Not at all. I still feel like I'm only scratching the surface of what the game has to offer. I bought the collector's edition strategy guide the other day and it puts into perspective how little I've actually uncovered.

It wasn't boring but at the same time it wasn't challenging enough which some could confuse with game being boring.

Some people expected V with horses but we got something similar to IV which is why most of this forum loves it.

yes, and it's fantastic!

after 5 years in a GTA war zone, i'm loving to snails pace i'm going.

i dig the action, but i also like sitting on a train and waiting for the cinematic view to kick in.

“Boring as f*ck”?

I can imagine the kind of player who thinks like that.

OT - f*ck no. Not boring at all.

You know you're asking a forum mostly made up of fans of this game, right?

Only a few idiots come here just to put the game down*, IMHO.

(*Constructive critism I don't count as a put down).

Of course not. Not even close!

Show us your 100%/70 golds then. ;)

Though, this is a fine way of thinking, lol.

Bodes well if the kids think it's slow. :)

It's not about challenges and medals it is not challenging in a way that is very hard to get killed. I don't feel real urgency during a gunfight and I don't remember being killed in any of main story missions. I never used health portions and I never used Dead Eye unless it was scripted. Definitely the easiest game I have ever played that involves shooting.

I predict the next Rockstar game will be very arcadey like V. They gave people on this forum the game they wanted and you saw what the outside world thinks of it. Let's face the fact that the majority of people want arcadey and over the top action. Saints Row is what most people want an open world game to be.

Nope. In contrast, this has all the levels of world interaction that I had desperately wanted but never got out of GTA V. I've played so many hours, yet I'm not even half way through the story because I just keep getting lost.

I swear this forum is like bizarro world. RDR2 is truly the GTA IV it's generation and by the end of the year it won't even in the top 5 of most of the mainstream public's game of the year. Most people I hear rate even AC Odyssey higher.

There are long stretches of down time between the action during the first two chapters, at a minimum that’s about 8-10 hours. If you want to play the way the game encourages you to play, keeping up your cores, hunting, contributing to the camp etc. it’s going to be a lot longer than that.

There is a high barrier to entry for this game because it asks for a lot of patience from the player - I mean, you’re given a tutorial on how to buy a gun during the final stages of chapter two ffs. So, I don’t blame people for thinking this game is boring.

in fact, I’m glad because it’s scaring away all the idiot meat-heads that jumped aboard because of GTAO

Once you reach mid to late chapter three, that’s when the game starts to feel more like it’s predecessor - you have a good handle on all the systems and mechanics, there are a ton of activities and side quests available to you, and the story starts heading in an interesting direction.

So, the game can be very boring at first, but it definitely picks up later on. The question might be: Does the game take too long to really get going?

You say that like it's a bad thing. If Red Dead Redemption 2 is the GTA IV of its generation then bloody fantastic. It's about time R* made another masterpiece that's been missing for the last 8 years.

It is not a bad thing at all but to the general public it is a bad thing. Like I said at the end of the year AC will be rated more highly.

Dude seriously who cares? If people want to rate Assassin's Creed higher so be it. Not everything has to be a competition. Odyssey was a really good game in its own right so if people want to rate it higher let them.

Not at all!

Getting the challenges and the "Squirrel Statue" achievement though.... yeah, it's like GTA where you're trying to get something to spawn but it won't spawn and after you don't need it.... everywhere again!(Looking at those annoying cougars). Woodpeckers are being a real bitch for me right now, can't seem to find them

The game's not boring to play through in the slightest though, I loved everything about the story and it was nice to get a somewhat realistic story again after GTA V and TBOGT. And a campaign that you can't finish within 3 days

All the 100% requirements are more annoying than GTA V was though tbh, but hey.... at least you actually get REWARDED for all of the collectible lines. It's not like every other R* game where only the Rubberband ball and Space Docker are rewards

A lot of people call the game boring based solely on the first two chapters - which I get. Many parts of it are slow-paced and mainly exist to get you settled in. I feel like many people went in to this game thinking like it was gonna be GTA 5 with every mission being an epic shoot-out.

To me one of the greatest missions in R*'s history occurred in the first couple of chapters.

"A quiet time"

That is all.

Far more to R* games though.

You set yourself up for disappointment by only playing half the game. Your half satisfied.

It's short and easy. Platinum shouldn't be too hard once online is up. But the 70 gold medals is all about perfecting the combat. Let's see it... Just that easy, quick, one you got.

Old Man With No Name

No. GTA V is the boring one.

maybe the game is slow. Horse riding, realistic systems like stanima core, eating.

But i can always find things to do. Even if i complete the game %100.

But in GTA V, when you complete the game %100 there is nothing to do except chasing by the police while wearing %100 completed t shirt

I’m really hoping this won’t be the case for this game. I’m not far enough in to tell which activities are repeatable and which ones were unique one-shots.

I plan to play RDR2 immediately if it's released on PC, I really want to hunt the legendary alligator, is RDR2 map bigger than the GTA San Andreas map?

And conseqiences for crime. That's one of the biggest differences between this and GTA too.

Far better thought out here. All round. Epic gaming that can last a lifetime.

Chapter 1 yes.

Chapters 2-4 no

Chapter 5 yes

Chapter 6 no

The rest, yes.

While the story was at the highest point for me in the middle, I still enjoyed visiting every single corner of the map and finally achieving the 100% completion trophy this morning. The voice acting was superb, the activities are amazing whether it's fishing or simply playing poker, it's a game I'll be playing more than GTAV which is saying a lot because I despised that game.

Best game in years! and im very glad this is not for the Fortnite, BF and COD kids.. i miss em like tootache.

When you want to complete all challenges and side missions 100% and get it done before christmas you simply got too much time on your hands i guess..

Ive read alot of secrets , easter eggs and secret side missions in the guide and the amount of content next to the story is massive.
