I want commit crime but dont want to lose honor

Recommended Posts

GroveStGTAV

Just like in first redemption. Just wear bandana, and whatever you do, you will never lose any honor points

I want this in RDR2

Will rockstar fix this?

What..? It’s like saying ”I want to start cooking crystal meth and sell it to high school kids, but I don’t want any social stigma.”

Add "while wearing a bandana"

Lmao.

Well I just don't care about the honor stuff. Just do what you want to do and forget about honor.

Even if you do were a bandana you loose honor when you loot the folks you killed? You don't however loose honor looting bandits.

What I found stupid however is losing honor for robbing people while part of a robbery mission. Like the train mission, you stop a train and you follow John down the train as he robs the passengers and has you beat those who do not comply. For some reason you lose honor while robbing passengers doing this. I am already robbing people, why lose honor for doing what we were there to do in the first place as part of a mission?

@Ghoffman9 I don’t see the issue though. You’re robbing people, of course it should give you lower honor? Doesn’t matter if it’s part of a mission or not.

Then using that same logic I should lose honor for every lawman and citizen I kill as part of a mission, oh wait it doesn't do that. I kill them in free roam I lose honor, but during a mission my honor remains where it is.

This ain't GTA. Far less reward and more risk to break the law here.

It's a different game and grew from the last.

It wouldn't be a problem if honor wasn't so hard to gain, but so easy to lose. Spend hours being a do gooder, helping, donating, making the "right" choices, and your honor has barely moved. Accidentally run over a stupid pedestrian who walked right into your horse, it drops 10%.  WTF?

Yeah I find that to be an issue, lots of the events seem to only happen the one time and thats it. Once you explored most of the map and engaged with these encounters, its pretty much slim pickings when it comes to events that award you honor. You should live a little and do some crime without fear on whether you can gain that honor back. Its given sparingly while losing honor is extremely easy. The best I can do to counteract it is regularly donating to the gang and greeting tons of people as I walk by in towns. You get honor each time you give friendly greetings to NPCs three times in a short period of time, so I go around greeting every NPC I pass by as a means to farm honor since the game is not giving me a lot of options to earn it through natural gameplay.

But, don't you also have the option to not rob the people on the train, then? And I'm sure R* made it so we don't lose honor during missions because if we did, we'd all have 0% honor.

A follow-up question that sprung to mind reading this topic: Don't get me wrong, but why is this even important? Whether you have high or low honor, I mean. I'm somewhere at 70-80% honor, sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down, I don't really mind much. Better prices in stores for high honor, but I don't care since there's hardly any difference anyway. As I said, forgive me if there's something that I'm failing to see.

Also, I want to have lower honor, so maybe that's the reason I don't mind.

Well the spoiler free way of telling you is that your honor does impact the game's ending. There are multiple endings and one of the determining factors is your honor level, bad endings for low honor, good endings for high honor. That I find to be a biggie in my book. Its not like the first game where you get the same ending regardless of where your honor level is.

Bandana must hide our idenity.

In red dead redemption. We can do whatever we want while wearing a bandana without losing any honor point.

But in rdr2 there is no thing to hide our idenity to avoid losing honor points

I basically had my honor bar full when a drunk who flipped his wagon over asked me to watch over it while he got help. I took one gold watch from the wreckage while no one was around and I lost an enormous chunk of honor, like 20%. Bullsh*t, Rockstar, that is bull-sh*t lol.

I feel like people don't quite understand what honor represents in this game. It defines the character you want to portray while playing the game, not what other characters in the world think of you. If you kill innocent people then you kill innocent people, a mask over you face doesn't change that fact. Obviously random crap like a ped randomly walking into your horse and dying is frustrating but the general idea is still valid and makes sesne.

If you want to be a bad guy own up to it and accept the honor loss, it doesn't even change anything about the gameplay other than store discounts.

It does affect the ending cutscene, but the outcome of the game's ending in chapter 6 is still the same either way

I would love to discuss the importance of it, but that is impossible in a manner that is spoiler free, so lets just agree to disagree on that.

However during the last chapter there are a lot of missions and side missions that give you a lot of honor, i’m pretty sure you can easily get max honor as long as your honor isnt far below the middle of the bar. And every once and again you will meet people in random encounters that give you a lot, so as long as you do those you can safely kill, rob and steal (as long as you are not going on a useless rampage for no reason) without worrying about honor. Was never an issue for me, and I have robbed stores, trains and killed lawmen regularly, as well as beating up civilians and such.. Unless you are playing it like gta and killing 20 innocents and 20 lawmen every day there is no reason to worry about losing a bit of honor some times..

Gameplay wise it's not important at all. It's a cutscene, it plays out differently depending on honor, but the outcome is still the same. That's about it.

I robbed 5 trains last night to steal a ton of jewelry I needed for trinkets and talismans (finally got silver earrings) and lost a whole bunch of honor. I used to be almost at max but now I'm in the middle again.

Getting positive honor and raising the bar is pretty easy tho. Help out people in the wilderness and it jumps quite a bit. Also greeting people helps.

I don't care that much though, Arthur is an outlaw after all.

5 mins in Saint Denis:

"Hey mister."

"Howdy:

"How's it going?
"Hey mister"

"Behind you ma'm"

"Hey sir."

"Fine day, isn't it?"

"Hey ya'll"

"Howdy"

"Howdy"

"Howdy"

"Hey Mister"

*10 feet away* "SIR!!!"

Honour is a personal thing. It is not really linked to being seen or witnessed. That's where the crime and wanted system comes in. If you're identified, then you're wanted. Losing honour happens regardless. Just because you're not seen robbing and killing people doesn't mean you don't lose honour. After all, is a guy who kills someone not a murderer just because he did it secretly and disposed of the body?

10 minutes of greetings in saint denis gained my honor bar from 2/3 to almost full

I hope they fix it the way RDR 1 worked

I mean no rewards for bad honor.... but stuff locked behind good honor? It's not like Arthur's secretly a mass murderer, I just think unseen stuff should NOT affect honor

But.... RDR1 had a reward for bad honor. That horse with the f*cked up leg.

btw: So if I spend an hour greeting people in Saint Denis, I’d go from all the way bad to all the way good honor?
