Bakkerbaard
I've been wondering about this for a while, but too busy to play. Since I'm here now: What's with the grey bits in the stat-bars for the weapons? You've got your white bars, and then a bit of grey. What exactly does that mean? I'm fairly certain it is not the potential the weapon has as your familiarity with it increases, as I'm a boss with the cattleman and it still has the grey ends on the bars. Not upgrades either, as that same cattleman revolver has been maxed out and I don't expect any more powerful upgrades this far in. It could be comparisons, but to what? It makes no sense to compare the cattleman to, say, a pump-action shotgun and all the other sidearms have comparable stats. I'm not killing any less, mind you, but I'm curious. Koger
Possibly a debuff to stats because your weapons aren't clean?
Mach1bud
The gray is the potential improvements you can get with the weapon modified. Buy mods at the gunsmith to fill up those gray areas with white. Edit: Didn't read far enough. Well I was pretty damn sure that was it? CryptReaperDorian
I've wondered about this too. Could it be the potential given by switching ammo types?

I've developed cleaning-OCD since I started this thing. 6 hours ago, Mach1bud said: The gray is the potential improvements you can get with the weapon modified. It's what I thought too at first, but I'm 65% in and I'm not expecting any more upgrades in the future. 3 hours ago, CryptReaperDorian said: I've wondered about this too. Could it be the potential given by switching ammo types? Now, this could be it. Too bad I have just turned the whole thing off, but I'll have a look at it tomorrow. I'm pretty sure this is it. I've been using regular ammo the whole time. Results are the same, no matter what shape hole you put in a guy's head.
CryptReaperDorian
I do believe I've seen the Damage and Range bar maximized to where the grey point ends while using Express and High Velocity ammo respectively. While pricier, those ammo types, when paired with a rifle or sniper rifle, are a good "F*** you!" to those human enemies that take too many shots to otherwise put down, shot placement be damned. Not many people fight back after being nailed with a Springfield Trapdoor utilizing Express ammo. Bakkerbaard

As long as somebody falls over after the bang, the ammo I've got is good. ;o)
