KGBeast 312 Posted November 3, 2018 This is my second post on this subject, you can find the first on III here: If you didn't see the first thread, basically what I've done is figured out exactly what in the games constitutes 100%. How many objectives, what counts as an objective, what are the individual percentages, etc. Mostly just something I did for fun and out of curiosity and decided since I did the work I may as well share it. At a basic level Vice City is structured exactly the same as III. There are 154 objective points worth about 0.65% each (~0.64935064935, essentially a complex repeating number). Certain things are handled a bit differently however, and of course there's a greater variety of content so some things have been combined/condensed in terms of your % reward for completing them. For the most part it's still pretty straight forward. The one interesting quirk here is that even though there are 154 objective points, there are only 153 objectives. A single mission, the third assassination contract 'Autocide' awards you two points ie. 1.3% (~1.298701297). Why it does that, I have no idea. Could be a mission was cut late into development and the % had to be shuffled. Could just be that because of the subject matter (assassinating characters from competing open world games) Rockstar simply decided it should be worth double. Who knows. :34 Story Missions - 22.1%: 1 - In the Beginning... & An Old Friend 2 - The Party 3 - Back Alley Brawl 4 - Jury Fury 5 - Riot 6 - Four Iron 7 - Demolition Man 8 - Treacherous Swine 9 - Mall Shootout 10 - Guardian Angels 11 - The Chase 12 - Phnom Penh '86 13 - The Fastest Boat 14 - Supply & Demand 15 - Two Bit Hit 16 - Sir, Yes Sir! 17 - Death Row 18 - All Hands on Deck! 19 - Rub Out 20 - Stunt Boat Challenge 21 - Cannon Fodder 22 - Juju Scramble 23 - Bombs Away! 24 - Dirty Lickin's 25 - Naval Engagement 26 - Trojan Voodoo 27 - Love Juice 28 - Alloy Wheels of Steel 29 - Messing with the Man 30 - Hog Tied 31 - Psycho Killer 32 - Publicity Tour 33 - Cap the Collector 34 - Keep Your Friends Close... Much like III you still only get a single objective point after completing all rampages. Which stings even more here given how many there are, and how difficult some of them can be. The Little Havana katana rampage anyone? Pretty cruel on Rockstar's part. :1 set of 35 Rampages - 0.649%: Hidden packages work the same. One point for every 10. :10 sets of 10 Hidden Packages, 100 total - 6.5%: 1 - Hidden Packages 1-10 - Armor 2 - Hidden Packages 11-20 - Chainsaw 3 - Hidden Packages 21-30 - .357 4 - Hidden Packages 31-40 - Flamethrower 5 - Hidden Packages 41-50 - Laser scope 6 - Hidden Packages 51-60 - Minigun 7 - Hidden Packages 61-70 - Rocket launcher 8 - Hidden Packages 71-80 - Sea Sparrow 9 - Hidden Packages 81-90 - Rhino 10 - Hidden Packages 91-100 - Hunter Stunt jumps work the same, one point for each. Notable since they add up to a surprisingly huge 23% of your total, almost a quarter. :36 Unique Stunt Jumps - 23.36%: 1 - Ocean Beach 1 2 - Ocean Beach 2 3 - Ocean Beach 3 4 - Ocean Beach 4 5 - Ocean Beach 5 6 - Ocean Beach 6 7 - Washington Beach 1 8 - Washington Beach 2 9 - Washington Beach 3 10 - Washington Beach 4 11 - Washington Beach 5 12 - Washington Beach 6 13 - Washington Beach 7 14 - Washington Beach 8 15 - Vice Point 1 16 - Vice Point 2 17 - Vice Point 3 18 - Vice Point 4 19 - Prawn Island 20 - Starfish Island 21 - Downtown 1 22 - Downtown 2 23 - Downtown 3 24 - Downtown 4 25 - Little Haiti 1 26 - Little Haiti 2 27 - Little Haiti 3 28 - Little Havana 29 - Escobar Intl. 1 30 - Escobar Intl. 2 31 - Escobar Intl. 3 32 - Escobar Intl. 4 33 - Escobar Intl. 5 34 - Escobar Intl. 6 35 - Escobar Intl. 7 36 - Escobar Intl. 8 In III you were given a point every time you were given a reward for a side mission including the safehouse rewards like the bribes and health/adrenaline pickups. Of course this time around there were no safehouse pickups besides weapons so your only points here come from completing the missions and getting the single reward for each. :5 Vehicle Side Missions - 3.25%: 1 - Taxi Driver, 100 fares - Taxi jump 2 - Paramedic, 12 levels - Infinite sprint 3 - Pizza Boy, 10 levels - 50% health 4 - Firefighter, 12 levels - Fireproof 5 - Vigilante, 12 levels - 50% armor You get 1 point after robbing all 15 stores :1 set of 15 Store Robberies - 0.649%: As stated at the start Autocide rewards double credit so you actually get 6 points here instead of 5. (~3.9 instead of ~3.25) :5 Assassination Contracts - 3.9%: 1 - Road Kill 2 - Waste the Wife 3 - Autocide 4 - Check Out at the Check In 5 - Loose Ends Just passing rifle range is not enough for %. You must get 45 points or more and receive the quick reload ability. :1 Rifle Range Round - 0.649%: :3 Stadium Missions - 1.95%: 1 - Hotring 2 - Bloodring 3 - Dirtring :3 RC Missions - 1.95%: 1 - RC Bandit Race 2 - RC Baron Race 3 - RC Raider Trial :6 Street Races - 3.9%: 1 - Terminal Velocity 2 - Ocean Drive 3 - Border Run 4 - Capital Cruise 5 - Tour! 6 - V.C. Endurance :6 Checkpoint Missions - 3.9%: 1 - Cone Crazy 2 - PCJ Playground 3 - Ocean Beach Chopper Checkpoint 4 - Vice Point Chopper Checkpoint 5 - Little Haiti Chopper Checkpoint 6 - Downtown Chopper Checkpoint :2 Dirt Track Missions - 1.3%: 1 - Test Track 2 - Trial By Dirt You get one point for each safehouse and business you purchase. :7 Safehouses - 4.54%: 1 - Ocean Heights Apartment 2 - 1102 Washington Street 3 - Links View Apartment 4 - El Swanko Casa 5 - 3321 Vice Point 6 - Skumole Shack 7 - Hyman Condo :8 Businesses - 5.2%: 1 - The Pole Position Strip Club 2 - The Boatyard 3 - Cherry Popper Icecreams Company 4 - Sunshine Autos 5 - Kaufman Cabs Depot 6 - Interglobal Studios 7 - The Malibu Club 8 - Vice City Printworks I've included the three Vercetti Estate missions here since completing them generates money at the mansion, technically making them asset missions. I've also included the two missions for Phil here since the Malibu string is required to unlock them and they in turn provide you purchasable weapons. The only other thing worth mentioning here is unlike III you do not get one point each for cars delivered to the Sunshine Autos import/export garage. You get one point for finishing each list. :25 Asset Missions - 16.23%: 1 - Vercetti, Shakedown 2 - Vercetti, Bar Brawl 3 - Vercetti, Cop Land 4 - Pole Position, $300 on private dances 5 - Boatyard, Checkpoint Charlie 6 - Cherry Popper, 50 Distribution deals 7 - Sunshine Autos, List 1 8 - Sunshine Autos, List 2 9 - Sunshine Autos, List 3 10 - Sunshine Autos, List 4 11 - Kaufman Cabs, V.I.P. 12 - Kaufman Cabs, Unfriendly Rivalry 13 - Kaufman Cabs, Cabmageddon 14 - Interglobal, Recruitment Drive 15 - Interglobal, Dildo Dodo 16 - Interglobal, Martha's Mug Shot 17 - Interglobal, G-Spotlight 18 - Malibu, No Escape? 19 - Malibu, The Shootist 20 - Malibu, The Driver 21 - Malibu, The Job 22 - Phil, Gun Runner 23 - Phil, Boomshine Saigon 24 - Printworks, Spilling the Beans 25 - Printworks, Hit the Courier Summary: 34 Story Missions 1 Set of 35 Rampages 10 Sets of 10 Hidden Packages 36 Unique Stunt Jumps 5 Vehicle Side Missions 1 Set of 15 Store Robberies 5 Assassination Contracts 1 Extra Credit from Autocide 1 Rifle Range Round 3 Stadium Missions 3 RC Missions 6 Street Races 6 Checkpoint Missions 2 Dirt Track Missions 7 Safehouse Purchases 8 Business Purchases 25 Asset Missions 154 Total So that's Vice City. Again, hopefully this is found to be interesting and useful as a bit of a deeper look into the game. If you're a VC board regular give the III thread a look, there are some interesting differences between the two games. I may try to add these to some faq sites just to give them a more permanent home, but I figured the true fans on here would like to see them. Posts for San Andreas and the others will be coming shortly. Anyway, thanks for reading. If you have any thoughts let me know.
Arsen Vitiuk 518 Posted November 4, 2018 Great work, as before. Only do mention that it is required to finish Hotring in the 1st place in order to receive the points. Finishing 2nd or 3rd gains you nothing outside a cash reward... At least, for Original PAL PS2 version.
