CrimsonFolo
Guarma is the new yankton of RDR2. Saying it's explorable is laughable really. If horses were available, you could easily cover like the entire explorable area in like 2 mins. I wish it was some random big island that was accessible somehow but yea. Lonely-Martin
Can confirm we don't need all Guarma animals for the trophy. I heard of these after I'd passed Guarma and have got both Skin Deep and Zoologist. The Cuban Land Crab and Green Iguana are in the islands west of Rhodes in Flat Iron Lake. (The horse can make the swim). The 8 not needed are: Red-Footed Booby. Blue and Green Macaw. Great Green Macaw. Scarlet Macaw. Rainbow Boa Snake. Sunglow Boa Snake. Red Boa Snake. Fer-de-Lance Snake. AUScowboy
^Seriously, I'm about to shell out for a used ps3 so I can replay RDR, and no kidding, the catalyst being the lack of ponchos. That and I want to play the story again for obvious reasons.. Fatsanchez and BilalKurd

theEwing1979
I blasted a few parrots in Guarma with a revolver just for the sake of it. And yeah, I didn't really enjoy that part of the story. Couldn't wait to get out.
Cratoz
There is a way to glitch to Guarma and be able to make a working savegame there. First of all you need to glitch to Mexico, and from there walk to Guarma, will take around 45 minutes. Once you are there (by either killing yourself or walking over the island) you need save the game. After that you will head into the little town and there are a few animals like a donkey you can ride. Make sure to check if the invisible sniper kills you there. If yes, replay any mission, after that you spawn in Guarma and check again if the sniper is shooting you. If not, then the save and there will be a pretty good chance that you will always spawn in Guarma. I'm not sure if there are other factors coming into play too, but this was how I made my savegame work on the island. So be aware, it can be hit and miss. The sniper exists because there are no physical barriers on the island so you have to manipulate the game a little bit. Knowing you won't get shot you will even be able to get back to mainland. I find the whole island interesting because there are a lot of places that are very detailed we are not supposed to see, also lots of animal spawns outside the normal area. For example this structure is out of view from pretty much everywhere you normally go. But anyways, I have some hunting tips for the snakes. Every animal has one or a few fixed spawn points. In case of the snakes there is a cycle. The red-tailed boa, sunglow boa and rainbow boas spawn point is near a log like here in the photo. There is always just one snake spawning at a time. This is the best location for these 3 snakes. Once you have one, save and reload or kill yourself until you have all three. However, the Fer-de-lance snake has another spawn point which is here: All the other snakes and a toad can spawn there aswell. The 3 other snakes will stay at the spawn until you scare them, the fer-de-lance snake however will move once it spawns, same for the toad. So it can be quite hard to find it. There is always one animal per rotation. (There seems to be a third spawn point near, because I once found a lance snake and a red tailed boa next to each other) But you can manipulate the spawns and make it a bit easier. Here is a quick sketch I made. So basically what you want to do is first head left from your camp down where the fer-de-lance spawns. If nothing spawned, go over to the other spawn point and make sure nothing spawned, after that you go back and most of the time one of the 5 possible animals should have spawned. If it's not what you wanted simply reload your game. Once it spawned you need to be quick, don't use the binoculars, simply aim with the bolt action rifle (much easier to find with auto aim) to study the snake because there is a bug that it kills itself after a short distance. Using this method I was able to find 2 lance snakes within 10 minutes. I also have a video of me finding one this way if it wasn't clear enough. But of course the Guarma animals are not needed for the trophies, just more for completionists. TonelocMD
If you take a boat south off shady belle, at the small island where you find the pirate hat, you can get some of the animals there, including the iguana and crab

In the story? Seriously? I'm not 100% sure of the clothing requirements other than snake skins and iguana skins. Snakes are not species specific so any of the snakes found on dry land work. Iguanas are found on the islands in flat lake west of Clemmons Point. You don't need one from Guarma. Are there feathers needed from those special birds? I did not think so, but I might be wrong.
