Inconsistent Aim Assist and bad enemy design

Recommended Posts

Vorian117

The games aim assist is inconsistent and is garbage. Some times it works fine other it does not work at all and gets me killed. There will be times when it will not lock onto a target even when they are out in the open or on a animal, and with the clunky aiming it is a pain to fix the game not working the way it is suppose to work. Also AI SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MAGICALLY KEEP UP WITH YOU ON HOURSE BACK. I zoomed past some raiders and they caught up to me when I was going full sprint. After I killed them I looked at their houses and they were garbage houses and in no way should have been able to keep up let alone catch up. This has been a huge problem will all of Rockstars games where you get chase. The AI vehicles/horse are suddenly better then your regardless of the quality of your own transportation. IT IS GARBAGE GAME DESIGN AND NEED TO BE CHANGED. Seriously Rockstar, instead of focusing on garbage that does nothing for he game like a horses scrotum thinking in the cold, try the getting down the actual game play elements first.

Maybe the issues are player related? Based on the monstrosity I just read I'd say that isnt too far fetched.

Did you have ever thought that maybe, the issues come from you?

That’s strange. I don’t think I’ve run into that issue. My best advice would be to get a faster horse.

Aim assist works fine, I play free aim however, which is fun and hard, but with good management of dead eye, it’s brilliant, even for tough fights.

Your horse is slow, I escape just fine on my race horse. Get a better horse first.

I think the problem is he got himself one of those Hourses, as opposed to a good old fashioned horse like the rest of us.

Folks expect this game to be just like GTA when it isn't.

Auto aim works but from what I have seen it isn't a full lock on that tracks the targets every move. In GTA you can lock onto an NPC and the lock never breaks even when you cannot see the target, take cover. etc. You pop back up and can still put bullets into them.

The RDR2 system is more like freeaim-assisted in GTA. You lock on but if they take cover, move quickly, you lose it. In my experience it won't lock onto an attacking wolf AT ALL. I hate those things, lol.

I wanted to play this game without but it has the typical clunky controls. I need to get back to trying to get used to it and try that dead eye stuff out as well :)

free aim + dead eye is the only way to shoot.

Free aim is the only way to shoot in any shooting game, so get used to it early.

Plus sweet dead eye head shots are way more effective

I play in first person without aim assist. The controls for shooting are not clunky, it’s the best they have ever been in a R* game. Even at the highest sensitivity you can move your aim pixel by pixel for smooth accuracy. First person is great. Playing with free aim is not that bad, you just need to be more careful and use your deadeye wisely. On top of that - it’s more fun. I also intend only to play Online in freeaim games, so it’s nice with the practice ;)
