Nulla Lex Ink.

Noticed another irritating thing, kinda like my complaints about "Horsemen Apocalypses" and "Fleeting Joy." So apparently in "Red Dead Redemption," after the Pinkertons attack the camp, Bill and Javier just straight up disappear after they run off screen. I turned my camera to see how long the guys were gonna shoot back at the Pinkertons and saw those two missing. Thinking this was a glitch, I did it again, and sure enough, Bill and Javier have disappeared, leaving only Dutch, Micah, Cleet and Joe. I could have swore when I threw dynamite at them once that I saw four bodies fly into the air while Joe shot back, but I guess I was wrong. Or perhaps these last couple of times I just ran into a glitch that made them disappear, though if that's the case, a few other people have had it, since further investigation of any youtube videos that panned over that way at some point, it seems like Javier and Bill are missing for them too.

John not being able to swim is dumb as hell. I get that they're trying to explain why John couldn't swim in the first game but give me a f*cking break. They REMOVED the snow from Nekoti Rock for some stupid reason that makes no f*cking sense. Was the first game set in winter? I f*cking doubt it.

When the game oh so subtly keeps spawning me farther and farther from where I died, forcing me to keep riding back to the same location.  Died 4 times in a row at Hanging Dog Ranch, and it spawned me several miles away at Painted Sky

So I go put my horse and my saddle in the stable because I decide to, then I hop in the trolley in Saint Denis and suddenly I'm given a horse and my saddle has been removed from the stable and placed on this peice of sh*t Tennessee Walker no one f*cking asked for or wanted without my input or control

This bullsh*t handholding for f*cking retards taking away player agency and the game deciding it's going to f*cking override your decisions is starting to piss me off in a big way

So I've just been blowing this peice of sh*t horse up over and over and dying and getting another peice of sh*t horse  forced onto me and getting angrier and angrier and keep f*cking killing them and not actually playing the game or enjoying all the nice little details in Saint Denis like I had planned because I'm so f*cking pissed at this f*cking garbage horse system designed for imbeciles who suck at playing this game

I guess they dont realize I can just keep killing myself and selling the horse over and over again for $2.40 a horse. Maybe they'll patch that out because god forbid players should exploit something to their advantage

I watched the credits last night-well, early this morning really.  I did not do an exact count so this is an estimate from what I saw when I thought about it and trying to remember how many screens there were before but there was 300+ "Testers".

I have to ask-what were they "Testing" exactly?  Was it this game...Urine samples?

For there to be this many issues so easilly found by mid chpt2 it makes me think R* is overpaying those so-called 'Testers' and I love the game overall but geez...this crap is stupid to miss or not resolve.

So I’m walking through valentine minding my own damn business, just going to the general store when out of nowhere this guy just starts beating on me??? (I didn’t antagonise him and I was barely near him) anyway I can’t be bothered fighting cos thats just gonna give me a bounty which is irritating so I’m trying to run over to the sheriffs office but apparently I’m the only person who the law applies to cos the sheriff is just watching this guy beat the sh*t out of me. So I throw a punch back and what do you know? WANTED, ASSAULT, $15 bounty.

There's a lot of systems in place in this game that seem to be overly complicated simply for the sake of being overly complicated. For example, why can't we just gain weight like we did in San Andreas, eat a sh*t ton of food, now you're  fat.  Instead you have to eat and rest and eat and rest and then you can't even rest anymore after awhile simply because they over complicated these things unnecessarily so that players have to do goofy sh*t like fast travel across the map because they have suspended our ability to skip time normally as they over complicated that too, for no apparent reason.

If they’re gonna make animal spawns as rare as they have done with the moose, they could at least make the ones that do spawn 3 star pelts every time.

I’ve spent 2 days doing nothing but looking for moose and I finally find one and it’s only 2 stars.  What’s the pooooint.

I was going to do the Legendary Buffalo, walked around a curve in the road and there standing before me was a 3-star moose. I blasted it with my Springfield out of reflex and must have hit the heart because I didn't damage the pelt. I didn't know until I read on here how absolutely rare they are and I blunder into one and miraculously get it's pelt.

The Moose isn't that rare. Sure, I've spent hours waiting for it to spawn naturally but it turns out with (potent) herbivore bait you can trigger a spawn on the Cairn Lake area. Just leave the bait there and go up the cliff and back. You'll first get a horse spawn and then get a moose, usually.

This is odd because generally speaking the game keeps track of animals in a big zone around the player and only those animals are attracted to the bait. The game doesn't seem to usually just spawn animals out of nowhere.

So I throw a punch back and what do you know? WANTED, ASSAULT, $15 bounty.

I had a bunch of guys in the bar start shooting me because I accidentally drew my pistol. I ran to the sheriffs office and he stood and watched them shoot me until I moved behind him and one guy shot him instead of me. He shot that guy and then let the other two kill me.

Also had it where I rode into town and the O'Driscoll's by the second bar just started shooting me. So I shot back and killed them. Lot's of witnesses who clearly saw it was self-defense (they shot first and I hadn't even responded to them at all) so I am going to be okay, right? NOPE!!!! Wanted for 3 counts of murder. So much bullsh*t.

I did the accidental draw thing another time in the street and ended up shooting everybody I could. Went into the doctor's office (in Valentine) into the back room (not the locked one) and spent over 40 minutes killing cops. There were so many bodies in the main room and just outside the door you could barely walk. AND THEY JUST KEPT COMING!!!! WTF R*!? How is this A - Realistic to the time, or B - Entertaining to the player. There should only be a few and when you kill them maybe some - SOME! - townfolk shoot at you, and then when you get away they send posses after you once in awhile. But 5 to 10 guys at a time non-stop so you can't even get out of the room you are hiding in to escape? So much Bullsh*t. And nobody knows my name how do they automatically know that it was me that did it. Maybe a vague description for the first crime and better for each one if I don't pay my bounty. But there is some severe Minority Report levels of sh*t going on in this game.

And why can't I sell some of my guns and especially my ammo. I only use express and yet EVERY time I pull my gun out it has regular ammo loaded. WTF! Put a gun away and grab a different one, sure enough regular ammo. Why do I keep reloading my weapons with ammo I don't want to use before I put them away? I don't automatically clean them, yet I automatically reload them with sh*tty ammo.

And why can't I use a bow to kill ANY animal in the game. I shot a fox with the bow and regular arrows, just hurt it - it ran away. Shot another with Improved arrows - destroyed the pelt? As long as the weapon isn't to weak or too powerful it should kill whatever is in it's zone. Small arrow - small animals, Regular arrow - medium animals, Improved arrow - Big animals. Pistols and Varmint - small animals, rifles and shotguns - medium animals, rifles and shotgun slugs - big animals. The fact that the Spencer rifle (the first repeater you get) used 52 caliber rounds that were more powerful than the .44 rounds used in the lever actions (which they got backwards; the better one [Litchfield] came first and loaded slowly via turning a portion of the end of the barrel and dropping shells down, where the weaker one [Lancaster] loaded faster via a loading gate on the side) is the worst repeater damage wise is crap. The only reason they were better than the Spencer was because they held more rounds and fired faster. The Spencer had better put down power.

The fact that I can't shoot a guy in the heart and kill him with one shot with ANY gun just pisses me off. I can get animals in the head or heart but not humans. And if you shoot any thing in the limbs it doesn't affect their speed or movement. You would think a guy shot in the arm would be less accurate, or unable to use that arm but nope.

And if you lasso a guy and then cut him free he still has his gun! WTF? Why wouldn't it fall on the ground and he have to get it, ESPECIALLY a longarm (rifle or shotgun).

And the spawn rates are BS. I spent over 40 minutes real time walking around an area that a website guaranteed was Cougar heaven and didn't see a single one. I did the mission where you have to mail a rabbit and squirrel and for over an hour I never saw a squirrel and when I did it was a 1 star. YET when I am just riding somewhere there are 3 star squirrels and rabbits constantly tripping my horse. WTF with that too.

And getting your honor or whatever that mechanic is, affected negatively for shooting a lone person in the middle of nowhere or a farm animal when no one sees it is just BS too. No one saw it happen how would they know that I was a less honorable person. The whole honor thing should just GO!

I tried to use predator bait to get the cougars, All I got was a BOAR! WTF! They never attack, they always run how are they a predator? Speaking of... the only animal on animal violence I have seen is an Eagle taking a fish and a different one with a snake. I have never seen wolves chase rabbits or other small creatures and the cougars never seem to attack anyone but me.

Cougars do attack other people. I seem to remember that happening in that area in Ambarino(?) where a fixed cougar location exists. If you follow that specific path the cougar will start running from behind a specific rock and will attack NPCs if they happen to cross through there when that happens.

You cannot bait cougars AFAIK. They just don't spawn properly. They have fixed locations but sometimes with slight variations. I know there is another cougar spawn somewhere near Beaver Hollow (last camp) and weirdly enough they have a somewhat specific spawn out of bounds on the eastern Island across from Annesburg (perhaps the game still thinks it's Annesburg) and it can't move because you're out of bounds.

Boars do attack you but it only happened to me when I wasn't facing it and it kinda ran into me from behind.

Another stupid f*cking design decision that doesn't make any sense: when you are leading your horse, and you whistle for your other horse, you will stop leading your horse. The animation doesn't break it, he whistles and then lets go of the reigns. Somebody coded it that way. Why? Why the f*ck would you take that little bit of freedom from the player? Were people too stupid to let go of the reigns on their own? Why would it even matter? Just what the f*ck, they advertise this game as being all f*cking realistic and then little garbage sh*t like this gets in the way

And where are these magic call boxes in the wilderness? It should take from the time the witness sees the crime to them running to get to the town or telegraph station to notify the sheriff and deputies to come from the town for them to get to the crime scene for there to be a response.

Trotting through Saint Denis right now, Ive got a crowd of about 10 red dots just following behind me looking to beat my ass. They've been following for a few blocks now because I bumped somebody with my horse. I am reluctant to lead them to a cop and let the law intervene as I know as soon as I'm punched in the face in this city, I am going to be the one wanted for unarmed assault.

EDIT: So I got off my horse in front of a cop and he stood there and watched as ten strong men surrounded me and tried to lynch me. I beat all of their asses and then politely greeted the cop and was on my way. How inconsistent.

The crappy horse jumping mechanic bothers me too. I just rode into Strawberry and was going to get rid of my bounty when my horse even though I was still a good distance away (horse and a half length) and my horse inexplicably jumped up on the porch. Or when you are riding toward a creek and hit jump and after it is in the creek it jumps. Or sometimes it will automatically jump fences and other times just run up against it.

Horses auto-jump fences if they face it at a perpendicular angle mostly.

In the middle of a cop-slaughter. Sitting in the barn in valentine with two wide open doors on second floor shooting lawmen as they climb the ladder. Apparently it never occurs to them to shoot me from farther away through the opennings. They just keep climbing the ladder. Funny can't head shoot them as they come up. I have to wait until they are up and then I can kill them. I have noted they draw their guns faster than me as they are instantly shooting the second they get up.

I have been straight perpendicular and still it sometimes just stops against the fence. I would say it is only when close up but sometimes it happens when I am riding at the fence and sometimes when you are near it. And yet sometimes when you are near it your horse will jump the fence even though you never indicated that you wanted to because in fact you DIDN'T want to.

I figured I would be allowed to post this here. The game for all it does right just isn't fun to play. It's not. If R had cared about making it fun to play then it would be GOTY but they seriously slacked in the gameplay department which is the most important part of a game. I am far from the only one that feels this way.

I have to agree that it's ridiculous that NPC's can't get in conflict with the law, when acting out. It just feels like you against the whole game all the time. You need allies if you want an immersive feeling for such a game as RDR2. There's no fun getting into conflict with the NPCs if it's always you alone.

I don't know why R* abandon the possibility to recruit gangmembers in GTA and RDR.

So I gave up on trying to find Cougars after 5 game days and about 4 hours real time and decided to do the High Stakes Treasure. I am fast walking my horse there (I never gallop unless I have to, I like to play semi-realistically - though the game makes that hard) and don't see anyone in 10 real time minutes while I am riding. I pass a camp near the road with 2 guys that always lip you when you ride up to their camp and tell you to get lost. This time I decide I've had enough of being called chicken so I Marty McFly and turn around and blast both of them. Well within 2 minutes I've killed 4 pairs of witnesses for a total of 8 more people because though I hadn't seen anyone forever but these two, apparently I killed them at Middle-of-Nowhere rush hour and everyone was horse pooling with a buddy. Then while I am looting a tackle box another pair show up and ride out of shot range before I can get done the stupid box-open animation that you can't stop in the middle of. So I get the law after me. I switch clothes and hats and am riding down the trail which turns out to be the trail they are coming up and low and behold as soon as they see me, even though I have changed outfits and hats and hidden my gun that I used to do all the massacring because nobody would be threatened into being silent - and come on how can you silence two people at once when you can only talk to one at once - and wouldn't you know the instant they see me they are like "Yep he's our guy, I mean he doesn't look like him except he has a beard like the guy we are looking for but let's not question him or try to arrest him let's just kill his ass." So I TRY to flee but all of a sudden my horse who had full stamina a second ago is COMPLETELY empty. I am trying to ride away while it is trying to buck me as I am trying to feed it and give it stamina boosters, which I finally do leaving me just about dead. And apparently they have the Kawasaki Ninjas of horses because mine is really fast (almost the best but not quite) and they keep catching up to me on the straightaways so I can't get away from them. I lose them over hills but as soon as they come over and see me they kick the nitrous on and catch up to me. REALLY getting tired of the law mechanic in this game. And I know it will never get fixed because they didn't fix it in GTA, and now online is out so solo is never going to get any love. You would think (or maybe it is just me) that they would see all the mods made for their game on PC fixing things they did and go "WOW people want that kind of stuff we should implement it in our next game." But NO company, not just R*, ever does.

The bug in Rage's code that causes a MASSIVE amount of detail and props to be invisible is still present in RDR2. Modders were able to easily fix this with GTA V, and Rockstar has access to the source code so why the f*ck don't they spend two minutes fixing it? Also In RDR1, Witnesses actually WENT to town to report you, even if out of view and distance the game still tracks them going to the sherrif's office whearas in RDR2, you IMMEDIATELY get wanted the SECOND they go out of distance. Overall the wanted system is worse than RDR1 and basically a carbon copy of GTA V's bullsh*t wanted system.

While not nearly as bad as in GTA V, the wanted system is still flawed.

Like you say, even up in the grizzles and middle of nowhere, the offended cowboy gets to the lawman in a matter of seconds, like really?! Breaks the immersion...

Also, telling an unarmed witness to stop while firing warning shots STILL makes them not want to stop and still want to tattle on you for standing next to them even if it means their own death? Also DISTURBING THE PEACE is bullsh*t. If someone is shooting at me with an intention to kill, why am I punished for disarming and knocking them out?

I don't know what happened with the wanted system but some area of it clearly need to be edited.

Almost criminal to have things like *witnesses reporting you in a few second even if far from a town* in a lifelike game.

I’ve noticed all the guns seem to use smokeless powder. [which contrary to the name isn’t usually completely smokeless, just much reduced smoke]

It makes sense for things like the Borchardt and Mauser pistols, because smokeless powder was designed specifically for weapons like that because traditional black powder would foul the mechanisms out extremely quickly otherwise. But it makes no sense for things like the Spencer and Henry rifles to use it. Simply too old, and smokeless has too much oomph and would damage them.

It’s not like the game can’t handle heavy dynamic smoke, one only has to look at the train’s smoke to see that. Not even in online which would require lots of processing power to handle it should require reduced smoke, Gran Turismo 6 on previous gen consoles could handle far more tyre smoke in online races. Wonder why they decided to have so little smoke.

Literally just happened... Arrived in Valentine on East side. Come guy lipped me about not starting stuff so I lipped him back he pulled a gun on me so I ran at him and tackled him. We started fist fighting and I get an Unarmed Assault wanted level. I run across town to the West by the Movie Tent and another guy lips me so I lip him back he attacks me and somehow that is okay. My stopping a guy from shooting me is against the law, some guy trying to knock my head off is okay.

Also why do we get so much ammo? A pistol belt holds about 48 rounds. If you want to double that to 96 fine. I mean we have 4 different kinds of ammo (not including HE). So why do I need 400 rounds of each? I have yet to have a gun battle where I use more than 50 bullets. Plus I have 2 long arms (a rifle and shotgun usually) so I have 200 rounds of rifle and 90 rounds of shotgun ammo as well as 4 ammo classes for rifles and 2 for shotguns. That is 1600 rounds of pistol ammo, 800 rounds of rifle ammo and 180 rounds of shotgun ammo. I'm pretty sure that is WAY too much to carry. And is rendered pointless since you constantly pick up ammo off bodies, and in any enemy camp. Why do video games always make sure you never have to struggle to find ammo or risk dying?

Nothing more immersion and lore breaking than a witness reporting a murder in the wilderness near Van Horn in like 15 seconds to I don't know who, a few seconds later while I rode away, 5/6 lawman are arriving out of thin air, they spot me and start shooting at me.

They chase me to Van Horn, I ran on foot and they killed me.

It's not like swimming is really that crucial in this game and it's probably one of the reasons they let horses swim so in those rare moments John does need to traverse through water there's still an alternative rather than him dying like he's fallen into acid like Red Dead Redemption.

It could be karma for not allowing him to swim originally, but to be fair R* most likely thought they'd never use John again in another game. I like how Arthur makes fun of John for not being able to swim because it feels like the dev team realised they screwed up and just went with it to take the piss out of themselves.
