I know this is probably a really nit-picking complaint, but is anyone else dissapointed that they didn't include Mexico in the game? If you're gonna include Blackwater and New Austin from RDR1, you might as well include Mexico to. Also and The Macfarlane ranch doesn't have their big barn, despite Bonnie saying that Drew built it when she was a little girl.

As someone who likes to know what my game is doing and why it's doing it, all these mystery mechanics that may or may not be broken, like sometimes I can't set up my tent and I don't know why, or the hair growth bullsh*t, that sh*t pisses me off. Like the passage of time where somebody thought they were real clever making time not pass at a consistent rate. Why make such a dumb choice? It f*cks with the weather. Like is the game working like it's supposed to? Am I the idiot? We may never know.

Don't forget Arthur losing the ability to whistle at random times in the Bayou even though he is visibly trying to whistle and the horse icon is pulsing like it's coming to you but just stays still.

When the game randomly equips sh*t to my back and shoulder during missions... gives me conniptions. Especially when I'm forced to watch two shotguns fight for real estate over Arthur's back mid-cutscene.

you expect people to continue playing your game with only showdown mode basically being a red dead version of team tactical from halo. not separating the knives or bow lobbies into their own gamemode. Your mistake is not making more game modes. And forcing others to play in a team tactical gamemode type where it changes and isn't voted on or anythign is honestly half assed. that was the worst game mode in halo (team tactical) and obv its not working for you either red dead. the online mode is so bland it gets boring after 1 day. we want game modes! i want to only play team capture flag games i hate the way the bow arrow and knife only modes are just camping and honestly just not fun. FORCING A GAMEMODE ISN'T A COMPLETE GAME.  My view. seperate all of what is in showdown put them into game modes. and add more gamemodes then what would be available once you do split them. The online mode is so lackluster id rather play cs:go lmao. GL rockstar hope you fix your halfassed game.

Not being able to access weapon load-out while in lobby for showdown series. I should be able to access this until the second the game launches like everyother game on the market!

Forever stuck at end of the game screen after the game ends and i have to hard reset. Stuck on the killed by so and so with varmint rifle screen and it was rotating that screen slowly till it stopped after rotating the whole screen to the right about 30 degrees.

A lot like how you are punished for sitting still in the bow and knife only lobbies. this needs to be the case in all showdown series modes. as people who just camp all game need to be punished somehow. and if that punishment is their location on a map for sitting to long so be it.

Came to moan about this and forgot I already did. Stupid system is based entirely on luck and what tiles the AI decides to give you.

The fact that Arthur is supposed to be the biggest, strongest, meanest member of the gang, yet can barely fight a skinny little prospector without a struggle. The trailers showed Arthur as the 6ft powerhouse he is grabbing and pinning people up against walls without breaking a sweat and what not, but in the final game, he's SERIOUSLY below average in terms of strength. The difference in strength Arthur should have against standard skinny NPCS should be comparable with his fight against Tommy. "Big" Arthur as some people call him, SHOULD be able to wipe the floor with the majority of NPCs you can fight but every NPC matches him in terms of strength and fighting experience for some reason.

Speaking of that, I wouldn't mind having a muscle stat in the game. For instance, Arthur could gain strength by doing chores around the camp. As it is now, the one-on-one melee combat of Red Dead Redemption 2 is quite fine, in my opinion, but sometimes taking on multiple people, even if they're all scrawny, gets a little wonky.

 

The melee damage doesn't seem too consistent either, and it's quite likely bugged. Sometimes you can knock out a pedestrian with two or three punches, but other times that same pedestrian will be borderline immune to melee damage. I've had a few of those multi-minute fights where Arthur's fists don't do the trick, and the pedestrian still shrugs off over twenty knife wounds.

I have just finished the challenge, it took me about 4-5 hours. It has been the most annoying one so far. The trick is to stand up if you think you are going to lose and then start another game... it won't ruin your wins

Here are some some of my complaints:

 

- game auto holstering weapons (why is this a feature?)

- game giving you guns for a mission (f*ck you I'm the player if I walk into a mission with only revolvers that's my godamn fault and let me deal with it)

- only being able to make 5 outfits (seriously did they think we'd only want to make 5?!)

- Not being able to wash at camp (there's a godamn barrel at the camp that the gang members use, I can fill it up but I can't use it?!? This is even more fustrating in the epilogue)

- only being able to store 4 horses (so many godamn horses and we can only have 4!)

- Not being able to sit on chairs  

- The crappy mission replay system 

 

Honestly these dont even feel toI hard to remove/implement? Jesus Rockstar needs better playtesters

We don't know. It isn't explained if he got it back or not, but they had to pay Hercule and probably the boat captain to get outta there, so I give high chances at Dutch recovering that last bit of gold and using it to pay their way out. Makes more sense.

How is this still happening? There seems to be like an explosiion in game and then i go to like 10fps unitl i die and then its fine. Broken. unplayable when this happens.

Xbox one original not an x or s. Considering it completely goes away once i die i'm more leaning towards it not being my console.... Those explosions in game can basically trigger it. It does not happen everytime and infact i could go games and this not happen and when it does happen it could happen only once per game or multiple its random af but the thing that's not random is it happens during an explosion or around the time of one. Bad coding? i actually have no idea. but my console pretty sure not the issue.

It's the game, I first played it on the base PS4 and at hectic moments like loads of NPC's on screen or explosion/fire situation the game was completely unplayable.

Now I'm playing it on One X and the game still suffers frame drops when there is an explosion/fire on screen... so its definitely not your console

UNLESS its the NPCs turn and if he has a winning hand the game automatically knows you lost before he plays it. 

 

 

Oh and one thing that REALLY makes absolutely no f*cking sense is the ending to Chapter 6. Dutch and Micah were CLEARLY going for the money at Beaver Hollow and no matter what, ALWAYS show up wherever Arthur is. They were LITERALLY down at Beaver Hollow two seconds ago and magically make it up the mountain? WITHOUT the money no less. 

 

And if you have high honour Micah just WALKS away? EXTREMELY out of character for him.  Also, Arthur had enough strength left to kill Micah but didn't. Arthur KNEW that Marston was on Micah's hit list but.... oh well. 

 

But WORST OF ALL, how is Micah not dead from catching TB from Arthur? Arthur coughs in his face and even bites his hand hard enough for it to bleed if you decide to go to camp with high honour.

Actually that's perfectly reasonable - only 10% of TB infections actually progress to the active disease. 90% are completely asymptomatic.

 

So Arthur may well have given Micah TB - but Micah never developed symptoms. Arthur was actually very unlucky to get the deadly disease.

Has nobody mentioned the off-hand holster not appearing in cutscenes? It ruins the immersion for me and is my biggest gripe with the game. I'd rather not have it at all if it's not gonna appear in cutscenes.

 

That plus the automatic weapons loadout when Arthur jumps off his horse during a mission. Did they really think I'd want to take my varmint rifle on some of these missions???

Dude what about the fact that on the startup of a game sometimes your whole team on like hostile territory will be lined up and in that cut scene everyones kneees are basically there feet as their body is halfway in the ground. I took a screenshot of this once lmao...

Took a screenshot of my second horse at the stables in the camp outside St Denis-there is a busted wagon 'Right There' by the hitching post and the horse is standing half on the wagon and the other half in mid-air.  lol

One time I restarted a checkpoint and every time I did a wagon spawned in the exact location of the wagon I was currently sitting on as part of the mission which caused my wagon to be destroyed. This kept happening with every restart ha.

It's ridiculous. In some missions I've found if you get off your horse early and walk the final stretch it doesn't happen. It just looks stupid when Arthur jumps off the horse with a repeater and Varmint Rifle/Bow equipped so I then have to put them back on the horse.

 

What's even worse is in some missions the weapons they force on you don't even appear in the cutscenes seconds later for example watch this when he dismounts and then watch the cutscene that happens very shortly after and keep an eye on the bow:-

Had a 'Chase a Bad Guy' Mission.  He goes horse racing down a narrow road between two cliffs with just enough space to get a medium wagon thru and Every.  Damn.  Time. there was a wagon coming from the opposite direction to crash into-wait two seconds and you fail mission, other routes sent me over cliffs.  Got tired of that and skipped the whole bloody thing.

 

Several Missions where I preset my loadout, get off the horse and check, get a cutscene and have totally different weapons I would *not* use for that sort of thing plus I suddenly get locked into using a Sniper rifle limiting my field of view where I would use a Bolt Action with optional scope for the distance and not have those issues.

 

Take my bow and dynamite arrow and Springfield to a party, cutscene and now I have a Carbine, and volcanic pistol.

 

Prologue2 I had a nice Thoroughbred.  Just got it-was using the Cinematic to head into West Elizabeth, soon as I cross the river I am getting shot at and, by the time I got out of Cenimatic mode the horse was dead followed seconds later by mBeen attacked by Marauders while camping-until you can get it to get out of the sitting by the fire postion you take bullet after bullet with zero options.  I know if I'm sitting by a fire in real life and someone starts shooting at me I am draweing my sidearm, moving out of the light and returning fire but in-game??  Nope.

 

It *should* be like RDR!-camping and such is a safe zone because you cannot protect yourself but R* seems to do it like the Government-take something simple and Complicate it.
