Cosmic Gypsy
So i just finished Red Dead 2 and experienced a disappointing ending, Which is ok i suppose but i noticed I'm starting the epilogue as John with $14, no guns, some random horse and no items/clues/treasure maps i collected as Arthur. Really bums me out, I'm guessing all of those treasure maps and various clues are now forever lost because i didn't complete them as Arthur. Like Arthur could have at least given John all of his possessions so we can start off with some god sh*t in the epilogue as kind of a reward for completing the main story. Depressing ending. EDIT: Really miss having a populated camp of gang members to head back too also, a wood cabin with your wife and kid on some farm is NOT a good trade off. There was basically no point in buying/upgrading/customizing any weapons, upgrading anything in camp or saving up any money. jje1000
I do wish that the ranch was like the camp in that you could make upgrades to it, and that there would be ranch activities and needs to act as a money sink (since you get like 20K at the end of the game). ASMorgan
John says Arthur gave him his satchel. Once you finish the entire game, you pick up as Marston with everything you acquired as Arthur. Watch the credits too, it gives clues where everyone is. MCMXCII
NoEasyDay
I was going to ask this question and saw you already had a post on the topic. So when you know what happens at the end, do you essentially start over then? Can someone please explain the ending for me? Do you lose all your items, money, and more importantly your stats? And you lose the camp and all the upgrades?!?! Wow. Anything else I need to know?

You regain your weapons I believe but you don't get the money that was on Arthur's person, however you do get 20,000$ after the credits roll. Your stats reset as well, like your stamina and hp as well as your honor rating. GusMcCree

You don’t have money but you don’t need it, all your items likes guns and previous horse purchases come back when they’re needed. The epilogue is telling a story, just follow along, I was meh about it at first but it ended up being really good. As far as camp upgrades, they became pretty irrelevant once you got to Chapter 6. You don’t lose them persay, the story moves on. GusMcCree
SuperD123
So what about other things like valuables and other items I collected as Arthur like herbs ? Do I get them back after I finish epilogue? Edited November 10, 2018 by SuperD123
Lock n' Stock
This is why I'm going to keep a seperate save during Chapter 6. I just hope the tuberculosis doesn't make the gameplay more of a chore.

Cosmic Gypsy
Yeah i waited a bit i got all of Arthur's possessions, apart from horse (thank f*ck for that) Still 100% not liking that legit farm life over a camp full of criminals though. I'd rather join the Skinner gang honestly. The pikey camp used to be something i actually went back to, ate food, spoke to people, resupplied, upgraded camp, had parties, the farm is something i actively avoid unless i wanna sleep or fast travel. I still say it's pointless upgrading camp or saving money as Arthur, unless you want the camp upgrading trophy. @Lock n' Stock TB didn't make gameplay any more of a chore (that is if you ignore the coughing fits) but it made the tone of the game much more depressing as it progresses, people start commenting on how ill you look and even Arthur starts to sound worried. Having said that i do 100% recommend making a save just before Arthur gets TB, wish i did. Just make sure it's not a stitch up piss take save where you play for 10 minutes then Arthur suddenly collapses.
