Is there a different installation for Special Edition

The reason I ask is I ended up buying the game twice. A standard edition copy and a Special Edition Copy. I have installed my Standard Edition and the Special Edition has not arrived yet. Is the Special Edition content just  a code you can enter for the extra content or is it an entirely different install.
