I'm honestly guessing New Austin was an afterthought to some extent. I'm guessing it was more so added in to make the map for Online feel a bit larger and varied. Armadillo having Cholera is messed up but accurate to the back story, as I remember a paper or something in RDR1 mention this happened to Armadillo in 1907. It'd be nice to go over there in SP. I definitely see Online missions taking place in New Austin. I'm real curious what year Online will be set in though; Maybe the epilogue's year so they have access to all the technology that exists during that time?
