XxElBigMex913xX
So I completed RDR2 the other day and I thought it was quite masterful compared to the previous title and for some reason, I found three main easter eggs in the game. One of them that I found interesting was that when you encounter a bear in a random event, the motion camera movement and ragdoll physics heavily resemble to an iconic scene from Alejandro González Iñárritu's The Revenant where Hugh Glass gets attacked by a bear. Plus, when you wander around the wilderness at night you will encounter the KKK which one member accidentally burned himself while igniting that cross and it's humorously connected to Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and "well sh*t fire" it was funny. And lastly, when you go to Marko Dragic, he will ask you to put four or five conductors in the woods so all the electricity to be gathered so his "masterpiece" is alive which is an ode to Frankenstein. No wonder why Rockstar is so obssessed on planting so much easter eggs in their past games that they made. Wanna share the things you found while playing RDR2? Drop it down the thread below and tell us what you found! Crm114

sunhuntin
One of the guys at the store I got my copy said they had used fans heavily into their games for some voices and had based the NPC on their looks as well. Don't recall if they were Youtubers or Online players?

Iroquois
Up in the mountains right north of Strawberry, there is Spoiler a giant skeleton, which is a reference to the supposed giant beings that existed in america before the indians. The idea was repopularized by the show ancient aliens. There was supposedly quite many fragments of them collected for research and display in some smithsonian museum until the government found out about them, stole them, and destroyed almost all the remaining evidence of these giants. So yeah, this giant is sort of tied to the whole alien or fantasy nature of stories of giants.
Catfish Pie
Did you also come across the nods towards these movies....? jollythecat
I think that French painter Charles Chatenay is Paul Gaugain. The colors and motives on his paintings in that gallery in St Denis looks like Gaugain in a way. And the letter you get from him pretty much confirms it. Banana
Not exactly a pop culture easter egg, but I had a real chuckle when Dutch gave the fake name "Aiden O'Malley" in one mission. el capito
Jim "Boy" Calloway, Slim Grant, Theodore Levin were the most obvious Pop Culture easter eggs since I discovered them. English Bob, "Little" Bill Daggett and W. W. Beauchamp from Unforgiven.
