I restored the Giant's head model. I will be working on the clothes next. Now we know how he looks. Also no eyes cause they don't exist anymore.

I was reading through the metapeds.ymt file and found something really interesting.

Each npc in the game has a line in this metapeds file that define the ped's meta base, (i am not sure what it is) for example, CS_JOE is meta_base_Joe, A_M_M_EMRFARMHAND_01 is meta_base_male, CS_MICAHBELL is meta_base_micahbell etc.

CS_JOHNMARSTON however is meta_base_player.

John is the ONLY npc in this game who has "meta_base_player". Only PLAYER_ZERO, PLAYER_THREE and CS_JOHNMARSTON have the meta_base_player, i don't even know what it means but i'm sure it means CS_JOHNMARSTON aka npc John was playable once, probably before PLAYER_THREE aka Epilogue Marston was even created.

UNK_MEMBER_0x93124EBD = FragName, in other words, a skeleton. They probably always intended for him to be playable (or reused it from the first Redemption), so they just rigged his model to the player skeleton and called it a day.

Yeah i always noticed how npc John was the only npc compatible with player clothes and bones, but i didn't know it actually shared the same meta_base fragment.

Great find!!!, so basically they thought to do the same as they did with the GTA V loading screen tips but was discarded at the end... and honestly I prefer it as it is now just with the loading screen images

So, the Law Office in Valentine had an interior planned at one point. There's leftover collision inside the building. As I shot through the floor you will see wooden particles splatting out and walking inside creates wooden footsteps sounds. I would check the collision file, but there's no tools right now to view the .ybn files yet, sorry :(

I more think that this is no more than a conditional floor for an institution that is present in absolutely all unproven interiors, and there is nothing special here. Moreover, on the beta map from the patents and in the game files (at least, apparently), nothing was found about the functionality of Law Office, but I can be wrong to be honest.

I was able to recreate it too using LST and LOC. The duster coat was included on his Lenny's Mod Loader, replacing the default one.

But the open shirt remains broken. Even if I save the outfit, when I activate it, the shirt closes.

Hello!

Have been looking into unused RDR2 stuff recently and found a .meta file with all of the goals for the single player challenges (seems to only be info on what conditions need to be met for each rank) and at the end there's what seems to be an entire 10th set of challenges (titled "Treasure Hunter") that's entirely commented out, doesn't seem like they got as far as making goals for it as each rank's goal is "HORSE_OVERTAKES".

Has anyone found this before?

I included the filename in the pic incase anyone else wanted to check it out

Maybe, it's just an early name for the Explorer challenge?

Entirely possible! I'll try to find any other info that would point in either direction.

Another beta coat for npc John. This one seems to be incompatible with John's npc and player bones so it glitches a bit. It has the RDR1 Expert Hunter shirt included on it:

Damn I like this coat a lot. I can't believe we didn't get the option to just open and close every coat, I'm sure it was at least planed at one stage. Practically it makes sense for the warm and cold weather effects obviously.

Hiya fella apologies for the slow. Hmm, I'm not 100% sure if I'm honest I haven't played RDR2 for a good bit now, currently in the process of getting myself a new PC with the RTX 3080Ti being revealed recently. But from what I can remember I used Beta Duster Coat at Red Dead Redemption 2 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) and the RDR 2 Outfit Changer 0.2 - Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod (rdr2mod.com) to change the Duster and Shirt whilst using the "Gunslinger Outfit". Use the Outfit Changers menu by pressing F2 then find a section under "Coats" select "Duster Coat", after that go to "Shirts" scroll down until you see the shirt named under "87AA97FB" then change it's variation to "13". From what I recall the unbuttoned blue shirt is very finicky when the Black variant of the Duster Coat is equipped, such as when equipping a Bandana or whenever you lose your hat, the shirt would fully rebutton making you have to go back onto "Shirts" with the Outfit Changer Menu and selecting the "87AA97FB" variation "13" again, every other coat in-game doesn't have that effect with the unbuttoned blue shirt though which is strange. Seems that Rockstar hardcoded it to reset to the fully buttoned up variant whenever that specific black duster is worn on the player. 🙃

Little funny this. Rockstar forgot to remove a debug cutscene archive name from the cutscene manifest file, it is removed with the recent version of the file. It looks like the cutscene was removed from the game after it shipped.

EDIT

It's a huge shame it was removed since Rockstar kept the cutscene debug files in the GTAV files on PC. Why R* :(

This is a mission image, named "ind2" what does that stand for? I don't think this is in the final game. If it is which mission is it?

I can assume that this is a preview of the cut-out Trelawny mission with the train robbery, but honestly, I may be wrong. The surroundings remind me a little of the Bayou-Nwa marshes, specifically under the railway tracks in Saint-Denis.

And where did you find this photo? It's just that usually the mission previews have a sequential value (like; mission_gua2 and mission_gua3).

The "ind" part most likely stands for Industry, as the internal name for A Fine Night of Debauchery (the mission that takes place on the big riverboat) is "Industry 3"

Given the assumption above, maybe there was originally some kind of mission to blow up the pier?

Just watch the video. Isn't there a photo somewhere in this thread where Arthur, Bill and a certain woman are on a boat?

At 31:45 Roger Clark talks about a mission in Guarma. It involves Bill and Arthur rescuing a local's niece. Well, I made a discovery. This picture:

jzmn8AY.jpg

Was long thought to be Eliza. But, that's not true. I introduce to you, Leon's niece. "cs_leonsniece" in the game files.

This is Leon. One of the locals:

As, you can see all the info adds up, It's a misson with bill, arhur rescuing a local's niece.

The mission also involved this guy:

Not sure if this really counts, but it's in the RDR2 files so I figure it's at least worth a mention. I was looking through textures_0.rpf and found a file called analogueoverlay.ytd that has a leftover texture from Agent's development called "testreel"

n6zh41W.png

There's also another file in the same rpf called moreanalogue.ytd that has the same "testreel" texture but in a different resolution.

It's worth mentioning that analogueoverlay.ytd was also in the GTA V files (not sure about moreanalogue.ytd), not really sure why they'd bother keeping this in the files in more than one of their games
