And i followed Fun2 recomendation to check out achivements arts. And yes, this is a holy grail of beta stuff, like it was with GTA V

The most interesting find at this moment: In the mission "The First Shall be Last" we was a little bit closer to the Blackwater? Buildings location is different. And check out Xavier.

Yep! I was just about to point this out that it's MIGHTY strange to have a clothing section called Bandanas when only ONE bandana is in the game

I remember when this screenshot was released, I really loved this clothing combination. Went throught the campaign guessing this bandana was selled only on Black water or Armadillo, but well, It doesn't

I'm right now at Epilogue and found some interesting beta stuff:

About John's hair, I've seen It and It makes me mad, because Arthur's hair on John looks really odd. Any size or style. When I saw those screens, It gave me hope, but It's anywhere to be found

 Concerning Arthur in New Austin,  it’s one thing if the lines for him completing the dinosaur bones mission exist -  but the fact that in the present game it’s actually coded to use those lines and everything says something.  Along with the official guide from the companion app, showing Arthur in the legend of the east outfit,  it makes me wonder if there’s supposed to be some legitimate way to go to New Austin as Arthur.  Why else would they still leave in this scripted sequences for Srthur completing the mission?

 

 I understand story wise why you can’t go in to Blackwater, but you should be able to just sneak around and still have access to New Austin.

I wouldn't count on that, If, and is a big If, there is any sp DLC, It mostly Will be Undead nightmare 2, but you can go to Black water and New austin as Arthur through a glitch. You should do that fast, cause Rockstar will surelly patch It in no time

That's definitely cut scene, but it appears on John's flashback, where you see moments that were in the game, exclude this one

More of that, John and Jack had different default outfits here. While in achievement art Jack has the same outfit, as in the final version

Just got the legend of the east outfit for Arthur thanks to the New Austin glitch. You better act fast, Rockstar have a "No fun allowed, Play how we WANT you to play" policy. Even for single player. Example is Mexico. Red Dead Online uses a different version of the Single player map yet they patched Mexico for BOTH Single player and Online.

Plus don't forget that Arthur can wear all the unique hats and masks you can find in New Austin, Comment on how Armadillo is a living hell, and his own version of the points of interest in the journal. Arthur's sketches and handwriting are different to John's. Arthur was obviously meant to go here.

I pointed out in another thread that supposedly the clear bounty cheat works for WE/NA. This could explain why Arthur “functions” in NA even though he isn’t supposed to reach the area in normal gameplay.

Sounds legit. I have a feeling that the current dead or alive status over the RDR1 map was added very late in development as Arthur has no missions at all there whearas John kind of does.

I'm a bit skeptical. The leaked map from 2016 specifically marked an area of the map in the grizzlies with "Prologue" meaning that the opening took place in the mountains since 2016 if not earlier plus the fact that New Austin wasn't even included makes me think that it's actually the opposite. Instead of the prologue taking place in New Austin and then being cut for time late in development (which would somewhat contradict the 2016 map), I'd say that New Austin wasn't initially part of the game and was added later on as either fan service or to add more biomes for Red Dead Online.

 

Side note, I may be missing something but does Arthur really have lines reacting to the stuff happening in New Austin? I may be a bit out of the loop but when I saw a video of someone exploring New Austin with Arthur, he remained completely mute when talking to the prominent NPCs and when he reacted to the sick people, he just used the same dialogue as when he's talking to someone who's drunk. I heard lines like "This town is a living hell" which could be specifically for Armadillo but maybe it could be used for another town. As for the dinosaur bones dialogue, maybe the bone placement was different when New Austin wasn't in the map yet, who knows.

 

Again, I'm slightly out of the loop when it comes to Arthur in New Austin but these are just my two cents about that.

On these first pictures, it looks like John's model is the 1899 one. Maybe that's why he has the classic hair and not black Goldilocks.

Arthur does make journal entries and sketches of some of points of interest and animals (armadillo, gila monster) in New Austin as well. I still think that the size of some of the towns (I.e. Thieves Landing) point to it being set in 1899.

 

It could be the other way around, perhaps New Austin was added later on in development, and some of the points of interest (i.e. The dinosaur quest) were shifted over into New Austin to at least give John something to do.  Maybe Arthur might have been granted access to New Austin later in the campaign? 

 

I'm sure people are already digging into the game files considering that mods have already been made for jailbroken PS4s and the game's music has been ripped, but no one really knows for now- it's something that people will eventually find out, IMO.
