The RDR2 Beta Hunt

Apparently the full HD version of the photo of young Dutch, Hosea and Arthur? Also has individual closeups in the link below. Don't know if it was photoshopped, but it does look legit.

Curious to know if some of the other old photos have HD versions as well.

Hosea looks more like Arthur than Arthur does. Maybe young Arthur is based on an early design of old Arthur?

This shows access to the starting cutscene area and has Guarma as Guama

This pretty much confirms to me that the leaked map was indeed the original map and New Austin wasn't originally intended for the game. I'm guessing a bit into the development they decided for whatever stupid reason to stop working on the areas shown in that map that are not in the actual game and insert New Austin into the in game world instead but didn't realize how much work it would take. Considering they would of had to of made the area for two different time periods and probably rewrite sections of the game to include it. I'm guessing that because Dutch mentioned Arthur and Hosea went "scouting for camp locations in New Austin" while the Blackwater heist happened that is was a way for them to interact with the landmass. I would even assume that this was reworked and originally Arthur and Hosea would go scouting ahead into the mountains prior to the gang fleeing and that this part of the story was originally playable given the Blackwater camp location also. It makes sense given that some user on here also found the route the gang would of taken and it makes sense that Arthur would of had prior knowledge of this route beforehand. As I mentioned it probably got reworked when New Austin got included and the others areas stopped being worked on. Just a theory though.

It's implied that only Dutch and Hosea went scouting in New Austin. It's never indicated that Arthur went down there.

A plausible theory if you ask me. I was thinking about that whole Blackwater Massacre thing and I figured. If online takes place before the events of RDR 2, why can’t we witness the massacre take place? It wouldn’t mess with the continuity of RDR 2 as our RDO characters have 0 relevance to RDR 2.

I dont think this confirms features, pretty sure I've heard prostitutes in game saying lines like that. And I've heard game reactions depending on your honor

No, it isn't present. It's a cut feature.

No, no npc ever mention Arthur being a van der linde member

I always hear people say I'm a complete piece of sh*t and to "not even look at me", especially in Valentine or Saint-Denis, but that's regardless of my honor level.

That's because if you commit crimes in an area/state NPCs will remember but it's really wonky.

Cut newspaper (verified with Darealbandicoot)

I am so sorry everyone. This newspaper is still in the game. It unlocks quite a while after killing Micah which is why I never noticed it. However, on the plus side you can finally see the full paper

Before RDR2 came out I was excited that we may finally see the Blackwater massacre only to be disappointed. People say it's a story element so that you don't have a prejudiced view right off the bat of Dutch losing his touch since he kills that girl in a bad way. It's supposed to be a mystery with people asking what exactly happened. Honestly, it makes sense narratively about seeing Dutch reveal his true self later on but I still see it as a cop out.

I wonder how the game would've blocked us off from going into New Austin. Super heavy sandstorms? Lol I'm glad they finished it even if it is quite barren. Also is there any sign of a camp hideout they left behind in Blackwater after the massacre in the final game?

I was hoping the game would’ve started during the Blackwater Massacre kinda like how V starts off during a bank heist in North Yankton. That imo would’ve kicked the game off so well. The beginning we got now wasn’t bad. Besides I wanted to see Landing Ricketts in his youth. They won’t do a story dlc for it I can tell you that right now but they can do an online mission where we (the RDO protagonists) get to witness it and possibly take place in it as well. Since the Online has choices in story missions, we could get to choose whose side we’d be on. Dutch’s gang or the law enforcement. This would also bump up RDOs timeline too.

Trust me, I've been a good boy (not the Micah kind) for months in my game and people still piss on John all the time.

Guess they don't like the hair.

Nah they would of just made the water that separates the two landmasses impassible similar to what they did with Mexico. I'm assuming the same logic applied to that would of been applied to New Austin too, honestly it would of made so much more sense not to of included it. We already have the original Red Dead Redemption to explore that landmass plus it avoids us having to pretend that John Marston hasn't already been to the state thus keeping the story line and narrative canon.

People in Armadillo tell Arthur to not cause any more trouble and calls him an SoB despite never being there before lol

I always wished Rockstar had newspapers appear online in your player Social account so you could read them outside of the game.
