Its strange but once the OG's get old people (other criminals) tend to kill them just so they can get recognized as a famous "X" killer. But how about someone did the same thing when they were young aswell. It makes no sense to kill a old dude who has pretty much lost his sh*t at this point. One of the references is RDR2, where Arthur is sent to kill them once famous GunSlingers. (who are obviously old now and there is no competition)

Nevertheless one fool less. Ran out of lives, did he..

Every article said it was the Mafia for pay back of all the mafia guys he had killed or snitched on.

Yup and it was only a matter of time before someone finally caught up with him, I knew he would eventually be killed and it would be mob related

Back before his capture and before we got a handle on the feral cat colony in my back yard...  We named one of the Toms Whitey Bulger.  True story.

And...

I can't believe how he went*.  You'd think his accomplishments would have made him near hero.

*all I know is my wife told me he was beaten to death in jail.

It's been reported that he was killed by another mobster a Mob Hitman at that.

He was beaten so badly with a lock in a sock he was unrecognizable they even tried to cut out his tongue which is a mob signature when they kill snitches/rats

He was actually a big-time rat he worked with the FBI for many years helping them put away his rivals all the while he was killing people and it was said his FBI Handlers knew exactly what he was doing but looked the other way because he was helping them put away so many other mob associates from other crime families.

After it was found out about his handlers and they found out everything he was doing and set out to arrest him his handlers were the ones who gave him the tip-off they were about o arrest him is when he went on the lam and that's when the FBI came out and made it publicly known that he was indeed an FBI Informant and helped the FBI & U.S Government successfully arrest and try many high ranking mobs associates from rival crime families and as anybody who knows the basics of mod rules Rats Must Die so there was no doubt he had a bounty on his head ever since it was made public that he was an informant.

I'm actually surprised it took this long for him to be killed.

You didn't seriously think all Johnny Depps were the same person, did you?

Just watched Black Mass last night. He was such a ruthless scumbag but a very curious one. Didn't know he was sending arms to the RA. I also suspected Jack Nicholson's character in The Departed was based on him but I wasn't 100% sure until everyone recently confirmed it.

I'm hoping the next GTA is set in Boston. There's a wealth of good crime characters, gangs and films to draw inspiration from.

In his latter years he liked to collect rare books so maybe he wasn't too much of a numbskull.

Fine taste in women too.

here is the wikipedia on Bulgers capture and other crimes  from when they captured him back in 2011, it  doesn't say anything about the money that was buried in his house walls that the media reported they'll when they finally found him!..
