GrudgefromSanAndreas
Ciao a tutti GTAFrutti! I'm planing to buy this game as well as Vice City in the near future so i'm wondering which versions exist (altho i'll probably buy it just for PC since free aim on PC is always better than console) So these are the versions i know so far: PS2 Xbox Xbox 360 PS3 PC PS4 Mac Android ios Windows Phone Fire OS Steam *apparently backwards compatibility with Xbox One is also coming* And two subversions: where cars are first clean then become dirty where dirt on cars is static So tell me which are best, which are worst and did i miss any port/version? Evil empire
On PC with version 1.00 you can use mods and trainer. I think you should avoid the Steam version. You can buy a v2.00 and downgrade. lil weasel
Male01
For some reason, everyone is whining about the Steam version while I am just finish the storyline on the Windows Store app. The only difference between it and the Android version is the fact that you can only manage save files while the Android version you have CLEO mods. For the same reason that the Xbox 360 version is awful, the Windows Store and Android apps are flawed. Despite lacking countless things, cars are still able to turn from clean to dirty cars on these inferior ports. Already was discussed a couple months ago with various members here. Doesn't change the fact that SA for the one is total trash because it's the same HD remaster sh*t. Just can't stand it 1 hour ago, Male01 said: For the same reason that the Xbox 360 version is awful, the Windows Store and Android apps are flawed. Best IMO, PS2, OG Xbox, PC. I would still perfer my PS2 copy over both the Xbox and PC but PC has access to lots of grate mods to restore the classic weather affects. Worst: STEAM Garbage: HD remaster ports. Edited October 31, 2018 by Big_Smiley *Fix color text

Male01
I forgot to mention that here are no cheats. The most that you can do is glitch out your camera. Besides the lack of cheats and glitches that prevent the arrival of emergency services, everything else wrong with the Windows Store and Android versions are the same as in the Xbox 360 version. Another difference between the Windows Store and Android versions is that loading the first save in the Johnson house makes the Windows Store version crash even if it is the same save file loaded on Android. The only form of modding on the Windows Store version is save editing. Since there are only two incomplete editors that barely do anything, you should try CLEO Android mods that are saved when saving your game in the Android version. There is always a reason, just not evident to some. Space, to save space on the Mobiles. There are some Mods that claim to put them back.. Beato_dim
Did they actually cut out cheats on Android? Or are they just unavailable without a physical/virtual keyboard? As for PC, Steam version can be downgraded and it's easier to get hold of than physical copies.
Male01
Cheats were truly removed. If you use a controller, you will also notice that you can launch flares from a Hydra and release smoke from a Stuntplane but you can't activate the spotlight on a Police Maverick. Trying to type cheats will result in the camera moving out of control. Among the countless reasons that the Xbox 360 and Mobile versions are terrible ports, there is all of the control issues. Running makes you automatically jump from things. The Hydra has to slow down or swing awkwardly in order to switch from hovering to flying and vice versa. Since you now automatically pick things up, burglary missions are impossible to complete if there is something behind the nearest wall. The Hunter can't fire missiles without also already firing the machine gun. If using a touchscreen device, the spray can and fire extinguisher are glitched and won't work when near a vehicle. The only thing that has better controls is the dancing minigame and and the lowrider minigame, where perfect timing is finally perfect timing for the first time ever. Official General
You want a physical copy. PC DVD version is the best, and make sure you buy the Second Edition of the American version. It is very easy to downgrade with no issues, and runs good. Do not buy the European version, as for some reason the downgraders don't recognize it, at least from my experience. I live in the UK and bought the European version to downgrade and because it would not, I had to buy the American version, spending more money in the process. Stay away from the Steam version. The online updates can mess with certain mods you install in the game. Edited November 2, 2018 by Official General lil weasel
