PSA - How to remove the second Gunbelt/Holster and when you get it.

Okay so I have seen alot of people who dislike the look of the Holster for Dual Wielding and wish to remove it.

Micah will give you the second holster after you meet him in the town of Strawberry so make a custom outfit before that. You will know its the next mission after you have a really good time with Lenny.

I may have a work around...

Confirmed as working

Save a custom outfit before you get the Holster
Equip it to remove the Holster
Dress yourself as you wish

 

Almost certain works, need confirmation

Go to your wardrobe

Go to outfits

You will find a few preset outfits

Select one of these

Your second gunbelt should disappear

Now dress yourself as you wish

You can still use two guns, the second one is just invisible.

You can put it back on from the accessories menu

Can anyone confirm?

The position is weird, it clips, it does not appear in cutscenes, it spoils the more "refined Gentleman" looks, its forced upon the player (dont remove my choice please)...take your pick.

Yeah I really think that in this game the more options the players has the better. Things like this and the awful hit markers should be player choice, which I thought was kinda their motto with this game...

Can any one else confirm this work around works? I must be doing something wrong but boy this second holster drives me nuts lol, an odd choice to force it on you when bandoliers are removable....

This is working, I do that since I got the hand-off holster.

Anthony, does it only remove the holster on the custom outfit or can you change clothes as you want once it’s un equipped? What I mean is does the holster come back as soon as you change clothes

No, it does not come back, you can change and put anything you want.

In your wardrobe, you can find a "weapon equipment" category.

Okay so I may have figured out a way to do it if you never saved an outfit before getting the off hand holster...

 

Tried replaying a mission from chapter 2 to see if I could save an outfit there and access it back in the main game. Was the one where you and Hosea hunt the big bear... Sorry it's early in game so I don't think that's major spoilers...

 

Anyways, no dice on accessing Arthur's sh*t during a replayed mission. Discouraged I loaded my manual save from within the replayed mission and viola no holster.

 

Didn't try it again, dunno if something else happened during the process or whatever. Hopefully can be recreated. If not, sarry mang. Good luck.

 

Edit: Actually it removed everything but the satchel and the main holster. Gun belt is gone and the holster is sat up on his regular belt. Putting one on drops it... Weird.

This is an odd topic and seems very entitled to an old fart like me who started gaming with binatone tennis. Surely for realisms sake if you want to dual wield you have to have an offhand holster?

I'm assuming this glitch is for people that aren't interested in dual-wielding, and find the second holster intrusive when it comes to achieving their desired aesthetic. Same with the satchel. 

 

I haven't played this game yet, but I can tell the player character seems to have a bunch of sh*t all over him that you can't really change without glitches/diddling around with outfits. I hope they decide to add simple toggles for all of these things in a patch, or something.

Well, I get it... but It's more about the entire setup. I would rather have a non sagging belt with side holsters. But removing the second holster... nah.
