Sometimes its instant death - Trains for example don't take prisoners. and yeah, those horses are GONE - That is why the first thing I do when I get assaulted is jump off the horse and run somewhere else so it doesn't get caught in the crossfire. Seriously looks and feels good. Taking extra care of my second horse now, he nearly died by getting attacked by alligators and once he was bleeding out while fused into a mountain but he survived. I suck at both shooting and outdoor survival and he's seen me shooting people exclusively in the back under the cover of night, cooking unseasoned poor-quality meat, trying to save a guy tied to the horse, getting kicked in the face and ending up accidentally shooting both the horse and the guy.
