Man Of Mayhem Posted October 29, 2018 Share Posted October 29, 2018 So I just killed the Legendary Couger and took the pelt to Tapper, sold it to him so he could craft me some clothing out of it and when I go to the items that require the Legendary Couger Pelt he doesn't have one? Sorry that happened partner I've heard just the opposite - that you can sell them to the trapper and he then keeps them in stock for future use. Also I'm not sure how you would even hold on to them. I have so far snagged just one (the elk), and the thing takes up the entire back end of your horse. There's no storage in camp (have read online that if you just drop it in camp somewhere, it will disappear on you). So if you're not supposed to sell them to the trapper, I really don't know what you're supposed to do. I generally like the game's bent towards realism, but in some respects it can make things frustrating, especially when what you're "supposed" to do is not really explained to you. Man Of Mayhem Posted October 29, 2018 Author Share Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) Luckily I have a manual save to reload from not too long ago so I only have to redo a couple of missions this definitely has to be a glitch so anyone reading this make sure to manually save before selling your Legendary pelts. Nutduster Posted October 29, 2018 Share Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) It's kind of a weird choice that you seemingly meet the trapper well after you hunt your first legendary animal. Those pelts are like a lodestone around your neck until you can sell them. I just googled it, then rode all the way to St Denis and sold mine. Hopefully he'll still have it when I eventually return. Tangential question - anyone know if you can take the pelt off your horse and fast travel with it, e.g. take a train? Will you still be carrying it when you arrive? Fast traveled specifically to drop off my legendary wolf pelt. Have to say, the hunt/fight with the wolf was a bit simple and anticlimactic... hopefully the bear and alligator will be more of a challenge.
