How far in the story are you?

So how far into the story are you guys? I'm currently at around 23% and I kind of feel paranoid that I'm going too fast. I've just reached chapter three, the world is unparalleled and is a fantastic place to inhabit and whilst I have spent a decent time hunting and exploring the story just keeps sucking me back in.

Valentine is still the only main town I have visited other than Strawberry which was very brief and violent as it was mission related. I can't wait to see Saint Denis and head back to Strawberry to explore properly.

I think I'm at the final mission in Chapter 3, judging from when i saw my brother play. About to go on chapter 4. :)

Chaper 2. Doing the camp and stranger quests.

FYI: There’s a strangers quest you can get in Valentine that gives you good loot and 3 unique guns.

I’m still in the beginning of chapter 2. Taking my time with the gang because I want to get to know each and every one of them, do their side quests, rob from the rich and give to the gang, etc

I'm a few missions into chapter 4 right now. Xbox stats have me at 41% with about 29 hours put into the game.

Slacking hugely on the missions front. So many distractions. Just done 8 missions of chapter 2. Taking my sweet time with this game here.

16% done so far. Still only been to valentine and the surrounding area. Some fun missions so far for sure. This game was worth the wait from rdr1 lol. Gta can sh*t a brick compared to this game IMHO.

Chapter 6. The variety in the environments is just amazing. When you reach chapter 5 you’ll want to jerk off every R* employee.

Been playing since launch, still at chapter 2.

The last two days, i was just exploring the world and hunting every animal on the planet, for camp upgrades.

Today, i continue hunting and start to look for collectibles next.

Must be nearing the end of chapter 2 then, think around 18% of the story. Not done too much side missions or exploring on my own, kind of want to enjoy the story as it unfolds, then explore.

Perhaps if there is a nice break point between chapters I may explore myself.

I find that the start of each chapter is an excellent time to explore.

I think the reason I'm so drawn back to the story is that I don't really like the idea of going to key places before coming across them in the story.

I feel like if I go to a big town like Saint Denis before coming across it in the story it will kinda ruin that special feeling.

I've been playing for a good 9ish hours yesterday and only 11% through the story. There's just too much to do and I've been trying to earn cash to pay off my bounty in New Hanover after an accidental murder.

I felt the exact same way with New Vegas when I first played that, it was worth the wait to enter the strip. I feel the same with RDR2 aswell, although I do wanna go see if Tumbleweed, Armadillo and Blackwater are any different.

I know what you mean. I've been treading as lightly as I possibly for that reason. I hate going somewhere only to find out we go there later on and it's supposed to be the first time. It happened to me in Red Dead Redemption when I went to Tumbleweed first to do one of Seth's missions then going there to save Bonnie from being hanged a bit later. John acting completely oblivious like he had never been there in his life.

This kind of dissonance is really hard to avoid, but I guess that's a drawback of open world games.

This is why I'm looking forward to the point in the story where almost all major locations have been touched upon. That's when I feel like the game will feel more open to me and I can have more fun with the in depth exploration aspect. I can't wait until I can catch a train and feel like I'm going on an adventure but for the time being I'm avoiding it because I want to discover locations naturally as part of the story.

I'm seriously excited to see Saint Denis for the first time.

Chapter 3 today, did 2 missions there last night though, cheeky late one in a Sunday. ;)

Chapter 2 was awesome, a real good chapter to cover a wide range of things and settle. I hope this game continues to open up like this.

Great story, so many epic little scenes and I'm still to see so much. Often put Arthur and Virgo on auto run and I'm taking pictures left and right. It's awesome!

* Little man is at the last step of Chapter 2 too. Been sharing PS and I think his Christmas can't come quick enough. It's gonna kill me to have his PS4 in the wardrobe when he's playing leading up to the day, lol. :)

Barely scratched chapter 3. I was very busy collecting some perfect and legendary pelts too.

I already sunk more time into it that for any other game at launch. I played it for 3 days straight, around 10-12 hours daily. This weekend was f*cking insane. I have the late shift at work today and already sunk 4 more hours into it.

I haven't played Skyrim that much at launch and that's really saying something.

My horse didn't survive the cliff I threw it off, so had to walk about 15 minutes to Emerald Station, decided to get the train into Saint Denis to see if they had stables where I could buy a new horse. The ambiance in and around St Denis is incredible, like nothing I've ever felt before.

I remember spawning after a mission quite a way away from civilisation, where my horse was hitched. I had to run half way through New Hanover to be able to whistle for my horse. I hope this doesn't become a usual occurrence.

That's what i love about these games. Even include missable trophies/missions too. (Though understand it frustrates some, but keeps me on an edge I enjoy).

I play the games the 'default' way as best as, or learn from mistakes of course to learn and really explore and understand the story too as they put much into it. Then I do my thing. Often, and more and more with each game, I end up with various saves too.

Last RDR, I had one saved where John had just done the early learning with Bonnie and the 1st bounty. On that save, hunted and hunted, and hunted. Simple life, lol. (Had one before the home missions too, another for stage 2 deadeye).

This game's gonna keep me busy! Fat, thin. Good, bad. Helpful or off on my own. Loyal, antagonistic. Even a more hard core way and use less perks once more comfortable using freeaim/auto for lazy afternoons. A real mix.

So much here I wish was in GTA:O I feel. Choice and freedom mainly. (Buy 'it' if you want it. Not because we have to really - Do feel like this game will do better all round there online).

Does anyone else feel super comfortable in this world? Idk how to describe it but it feels like I'm actually in there. Never had that in a R* game before, let alone any other game. Maybe it's the fleshed out interactions, maybe the very lovely detailed environment. Idk what it is but I love it. Chapter 3 after 40 hours. Yes I played from Thursday night until Sunday evening. Now I'm at work and I can't wait to be Arthur again.
