mrguffman
Is anyone else a little disappointed that there are no random shootouts between other gangs/law/NPC’s in the world? So far I’ve only really ever seen similar things in the scripted encounters out in there in the wild. Even the original Redemption had this kind of stuff. Or I have I just been unlucky not to have seen anything yet? Ol' Stinky Pete
Sonny_Black
First off, I'm still mostly living in Valentine, get to Saint Denis and Strawberry once, and I never actually stayed a long time, I did traveled but I never really stopped somewhere, it was always to go back to Valentine, except Lake Isabella for a few days but it's a story for another time. So, for your question, while I was in Saint Denis IIRC I did saw a cop chasing someone. And in Little Creek River forest area, it was at night and I ran away but from what I heard it seem that a few guys attacked a prison convoy to free one of their own, and there was a shootout so I assume it was against lawmen. Ol' Stinky Pete
Quite early on also at 17%, Strawberry is furthest I've been. But yeah I've not seen anything random yet like that. Everything I've seen has a white dot to notify me. So it's like a set piece. Not totally random lol. Like you say, RDR had them Maybe once all gangs are 'unlocked' or the map is fully uncovered it will then trigger these to beef things up a bit? Would be a bit of a shame if not. Sebor
Rdr 1 didn't have that either. The only shootouts happening there were because of random events. Same as rdr 2 the only difference being that in rdr 2 most random events are marked by a white dot. Only gta 3 era games had shootouts non event related where gang territories bordered each other. I guess the only conflict by chance you see in rdr is when wildlife gets close to a npc riding by. Rdr 1 didn't have that either. The only shootouts happening there were because of random events. That being said maybe you can get npcs fighting each other if they bump in to each other
