mde2
I'm like 20 or so hours into the game and not once has duel-wielding been useful in any situation. it's slow, weapons take a ridiculous amount of time to reload and the damage output for anything but a head shot isn't that great. it's way better to just use a single revolver and land some quick head shots instead of wasting my time fumbling around with guns. you can't even quickly fire while duel wielding. i was just wondering if anyone has actually found a practical use for it? even if it was completely situational. i don't think i could even name a theoretical scenario in which it would be effective. CrimsonFolo
I mean it's kinda underwhelming but i guess you could have two sawned offs for close range while keeping rifles/repeaters on your person? Also technically dual wielding gives you a bigger cumulative magazine size i guess so you can fire more shots.
RashFaustinho
I mean, "realistically" speaking the same goes for real life too. There is little to no point in wielding two guns at the same time. It just makes you less precise when shooting, and reloading two weapons at once is a pain Edited October 28, 2018 by RashFaustinho SAS_Intruder
Mach1bud
1. It looks cool. 2. Actually, dual weilding Mauser pistols would probably work pretty good since the rate of fire is so quick. Maybe dual sawed off shotguns would be pretty good for enclosed spaces, inside houses etc. Lock n' Stock, TheSantader25, saintsrow and 2 others 5 Twitter - Instagram - Youtube - Social Club

I don't think you can remove the holsters, I was looking for a way to remove the second one but have been unable to find a way to do that too. A bit annoying but I guess it's 'Arthur's thing'. Mach1bud
Yes you can remove the holster. When at Arthur's bed you can change all of that. Also, you don't have to duel wield if you don't want. When selecting a weapon in the weapon wheel, you can use either sidearm by itself, or you can select the middle option to duel weild. I hate forced "iconic" items that character can't remove from their inventory. One example is the hidden blade in Assassin's Creed. That's so stupid. So just for prosperity...you can remove the second holster from Arthur's character model and only have the drop-holster on his hip by using the clothing menu? But stuff like the bow from AC3, blowpipe from Black Flag and rifle from Rogue... yeah. I'm glad RDR2 lets us customize these things.

Have you ever seen a pirate with a blowpipe on his back? Hidden blade is not necessary. They should have given the player an option to replace it with a dagger, or even better: let us remove all equipment and run around as naked assasin, taking down guard with his bare hands. Sadly, in older Assassin's Creed games you could not even pull the hoodie down. Xerukal

Cutter De Blanc
Seems to give the enemies some pause as they see this asshole blasting away with two guns Real good to use as suppressing fire, that's what I used them for in the mission where I got the off holster

ALifeOfMisery
I read somewhere else that if you saved any outfits before getting the off hand holster that equipping those outfits should remove it. Haven't tested it, I like duel wielding. Mach1bud and Lonely-Martin

Jeebus_James
Have you tried unequipping when customizing your weapon loadout it at a gunsmith? Edited October 29, 2018 by Jeebus_James Better wording.
Sonny_Black
You can remove it if you have saved any outfit before you got the holster. Just select one and it will be gone and you can change your clothes like you want like before without getting the holster. CryptReaperDorian
I don't mind that dual-wielding isn't too practical. If anything, it seems like it's balanced out with Red Dead Online in mind. I mean, R* could, and some may argue "should," separate single-player and multiplayer balancing, giving the former dual-wielding that's quite effective. However, it'd be quite annoying if that Max Payne 3 meta (dual machine pistols or sawn-off shotguns) comes back for the latter.
Gray-Hand
Is it just me, or is the second holster that you get from Micah facing the wrong way across Arthur’s waist? He has a drop holster at his right hip from which he draws with his right hand. But the handle of the gun in the waist holster is also sticking out to his right. How the hell is ge meant to quickly draw a gun out of there with his left hand? Surely it would make better sense to have the handle of the second gun pointed to Arthur’s left?
