PS4 Touchpad

Is there a way to remap the touchpad on the PS4 to map, I do not see any way in the settings? If not, most major games for ps4 use the touchpad to open up things like inventory or map, why force it to change perspective when most people simple pick one and leave it?

Just hold down the Options button and it brings up the map, it's like a shortcut.

 

Don't think there is a way to remap it to the touch pad.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I know about the holding options button "shortcut", I was just hoping that i missed something. I would hate to have that giant touchpad button go to waste when remapping controls is such a commonplace thing now a days. Anyway, my hope is that if people post enough about this topic, overtime dev's might see them and be like "why not". I do think it would be a QoL improvement.
