You can pickup torches. Some weird maniacs near Annesburg rolled an empty stagecoach (filled with TNT by the way) down a hill and it crashed into a tree and exploded. Next thing I know four of them jumped out of the woods and starting shooting. Two were holding a torch. After killing them all I found out you can pick up and use the torch. If it rains it will be put out as well. I used it and starting roaming around the woods at night which was pretty cool. You can’t stow it and it drops automatically when you get up on your horse though.

You can sometimes pull the trigger of your gun after you've died.

Interesting--this happened frequently in GTA Online while picking up ammo from dead gang attack NPCs.

Just L2 and square, same as your horse.

If you have a rifle in your hands and try to get your lantern out, Arthur will attach the lantern to his belt, instead of holding it in his hand.

If you only hold a handgun in your hand, he will holster the gun to hold the lantern.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but law men will come to murder scenes and pick up the dead bodies. I killed some random guy at one of the smoke signal locations and ran off and observed them at a distance with my binoculars cleaning up the mess.

This is probably a given but...

When you are aiming if you press Up on the D pad you will lift your gun pointing it in the air allowing you to fire warning shots.

Left on the D pad while aiming switches shoulders

If you have a scope on a repeater down on the D pad while aiming will switch between the shoulder view and the scope.

When the storyline takes you to Van Horn, there will be a Hungarian Half-Breed provided for your ride back to camp. If you ride it you will be treated to Arthur's "Far Away" moment.

I just encountered a bunch of kkk members in the woods near Diablo Ridge, tried to kill them all but they fled after a certain thing happened. I hope it’s repeatable.

The leader has a letter regarding membership on him that can be taken and read.

Pressing square while viewing your clothes on the Wardrobe allows you to modify them to your interests, such as closing and opening the shirt collar, rolling up the shirt sleeves and putting your boots over or under your pants. You can also scroll between menus using RI and L1 to see your owned hats, crafted hats, stolen hats and the hats on the horse.

No, it's a gift :D

Played a few dozen of hours and had no idea, was frustated thinking they didn't put that option in, thanks!

Probably a given as it's indicated but,

-While on your horse, you can use triangle/Y to call out someone, "Hey partner come here!" and then you have the option to rob that person.

-About gore and high velocity ammunition, it seem the entry wounds can be different and you can actually see pieces of skin and skull flying during a head shot, very cool, make sense since I saw someone said there is exit wounds when using that.

When in the forest sticks and twigs on the ground are not part of the map model and actually move when you walk over them and leaves that fall actually drift in the wind

Edit

And when you hit pause the alignment of the menu items (map, help, progress, ect. ect....) change each time.

Im still scratching my head as to why but it's a cool little feature.

@Shadowfennekin I very much agree! A minor thing, but does a great deal for the feel of it all.

I've sold a couple of watches already, I hope I didn't sell any super-fancy one. After reading this, I'm going to keep one on me I think.

On this same topic; how cool would it be if we wouldn't be able to tell the exact time if we didn't have a pocket watch in our inventory? That would've been cool. Like, instead of getting an exact time when pressing down on the D-pad, the text would instead read "Noon" / "Midnight" etc.

The watches you find are not viewable.

The one you buy from the general store is.

Yes they are. You can view any watch you find. I've done it many times.
