subvod
You gain honor by shooting rats in the cemetery during Angelo Bronte, A Man of Honor. Specialty ammo is available in from all Gunsmiths, but some, such as shotgun slugs, can be bought at certain stores. Such as the general store in Strawberry. (Speaking of that, after checking elsewhere the Bourbon and Gin on the shelves at the Strawberry general store are double the normal cost.) Each newspaper can be obtained from only one press agency. They're the same papers. New Hanover Gazette can be purchased from paper boys in Valentine and Annesburg, Saint Denis Times from Saint Denis and Rhodes, and Blackwater Ledger from Blackwater and Strawberry. They're all the same news, just reported differently and with a few different side articles. There's a lot more 24 hour owl spawns around than I initially suspected. Found six in Tall Trees last night. Quail evidently spawn scattered across New Austin. In addition to the spot south of Solomon's Folly, I ran across a group of three at the second 'L' in "CHOLLA SPRINGS". Also found a group on the cliff dead north of the 'I' in "RIVER", southeast of Scratching Post. Another east-southeast of Broken Tree. A swarm of bats spawns at Two Crows. A swarm of Rock Pigeons sometimes spawns just south of the Crashed Airship in Cholla Springs. The Night Folk random encounter with the mutilated horse wagon also occurs at the end of the tiny footbridge at Macomb's End. The O'Driscoll campsite east of Watson's Cabin has a Grizzly spawn nearby. If keeping stealth on approach, the bear can be baited near the campsite. I've only seen the bear kill everyone once out of 11 tries. Always hilarious baiting then taking off, hearing screams and gunshots as I run, lol. Petko
The game runs much much smoother (at least on PS4) after you have killed yourself or after completing a mission. Found that a while ago. This also gives you a better chance of spawning the rare random encounters.
subvod
There are quite jaw dropping GFX mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/1549 Poisoned Redfin Pickerel and Lake Sturgeon can be found in the pond next to the train tracks in southwestern Saint Denis. To my knowledge they don't spawn anywhere else. Only poisoned Rock Bass, Bluegill, Perch, and Chain Pickerel spawn at Elysian Pool. Found a bullfrog next to a large rock dead west of Manzanita Post. Thought they only spawn in the swamp marshes like Bluewater Marsh and Stillwater Creek... evidently not. A ton of Brown Rats spawns at the outhouse on the north side of the ranch home at Maclean's House. After eating Oleander or Bulrush, John has Arthur's vomit sound. Oleander eating NPC during random encounter is the only "poisoned" NPC which will take anything other than a regular Health Cure. Dunno about a Special, but he accepted a Potent Health Cure. Controller vibrations match track joints when on a train. You can ride any train for free, long as you stay out of sight. Instead of roaming around like a lunatic looking for rare animal spawns like myself, you can just increase the max ped pool limit. Didn't find that out until today. Seen so many moose and cougars thus far. Edited July 26 by subvod Few new lines. Edward RDRIII and NightmanCometh96

Emmi
This ... I had no idea the conversation with the nun here only appears if you have high honor and did the other nun side-missions in Saint Denis before (it apparently only appears if you have high honor). Apparently the conversations with Reverend are different depending on your current honor level? Wow, that is crazy. This game never ceases to impress me even four years later ... this is ridiculous ... feels like they reshot every scene in the game several times. Wow, that is crazy. This game never ceases to impress me even four years later ... this is ridiculous ... feels like they reshot every scene in the game several times. Yes, I heard about this via one of Roger Clarkes' comicon panels recently. Essentially there is a good and bad honour version of the cutscene with the Reverend. You will only get the Reverend if you missed Sister Caldron's missions in Saint Denis. So there's plenty of variants there. It's kind of annoying because if you miss Sister Caladron then you miss a pretty heartfelt conversation important to Arthurs' character, and vice versa if you miss the Reverand, that character literally has no closure whatsoever. In that same comicon panel he also speaks about Arthurs' son Isaac. Who we learn about in the Rains Fall mission atop of a mountain collecting some medicine for Arthur. Interestingly in that panel Roger said early versions of the game saw Isaac, his son, with the gang at the beginning of the game when the gang arrive in Colter. Isaac was a newborn and he froze to death in that moment. This was cut from the game for whatever reason. In this version of the story, Isaac's mother Eliza was supposed to be part of the gang past Colter as an active female member. There is remnants of her dialogue still in the game to this date. You can even see her character model, which Rockstar reused as one of the women that can give Arthur or John a deluxe bath. Can't say I am against them cutting these aspects. I feel it would be too conflicting. It's better for Arthur's development and character that both Isaac and Eliza died years prior to the events of RDR2 because the intro to the game is so loaded as it is, it's a big narrative conflict in the opening where Arthur has to be strong. But it's also a double edged sword. As we know Arthurs' main moral objective is to get John and his family to safety. We see missions at the start of Arthur looking after Jack. He wanted them to live a normal family life. He despised John for making the same mistakes he had made with his own family. Arthur chose gang life and as a result couldn't protect Isaac and Eliza, he didn't want John to do the same. So I think Isaac and Eliza being a bit more present in the story would have really drove home his motivations. Even if Arthur mentioned them whilst talking to John about family in latter chapters as a bit of a revelatory moment for John. Something none of the gang knew about. That Arthur had a secret family he'd visit from time to time and that gang life meant he couldn't save them from being murdered. It would be a nice moment of clarity for John to justify and heighten his characters switch a bit more towards end game. Edward RDRIII
@subvod I just found another Californian Horned Owl by standing near Fort Riggs around 22:00 hours, it was coming from Great Plains direction and it even added its animal icon near Strawberry on the map. Edward RDRIII
Considering Chapter 1 takes place during a spring snow storm while the rest of the game from Chapter 2 onwards takes place during a hotter climate, I think the game's story takes place from may (obviously) to august (when Arthur dies). I couldn't find a seasonal calendar from 1899, but this one from 2022 must be the same thing lol. About the Epilogue on the other hand, it probably takes place from june (Part 1's beginning) to august (Part 2's ending), hence the achievement's name "Endless Summer" when we finish the mission "American Venom". Only reason I ask is because I ran across a Great Horned landing on the gallow in Valentine earlier. Never seen any owls land on known static perch spawns until today. Now, seeing that, I suspect those points are both static spawns and landing spots, with each having a random chance of their own. Reckon I'll just relabel the "static spawns" I've marked as "perch/land points".

I ran across some there as well when getting the Nevada hat and note. Another I know of is Cumberland Falls, and another up at Lake Isabella. Easy fish, but nothing spectacular. Only tiddlers. ---- Players driving a train are still affected by movement physics. I was using the train speedup toggle in RampageTrainer and took the curve north of Armadillo a bit too... quick shall we say. Got slung to the side wall of the train so hard it killed me. I suppose it'll never actually happen without trainer functions like that, but today I learned you can die of blunt force trauma if you take a tight corner too fast in a train. Cutter De Blanc
Speaking of fish, if you stand on the little cart by the wall at Lake Don Julio House and fish, you can throw the fish back and get honor and then go collect all the fish from the other side of the wall, since you're too far away to effectively get them back in the water. subvod and wangsparkinglot

In the early days of Red Dead Online, when it first launched in Beta and there wasn’t many ways to make a buck. It was well documented by the YouTube community to go here and just stand under the waterfall and wait for fish to fall on the rocks. Not many people could even afford fishing rods so it was a great way to get your money up at the start. I think in online it was the sockeye salmon. wangsparkinglot and MaddenedGhost
